Here at CBR in a pirate ship room and, although a good 8-10 min walk from OPR, the kids LOVE IT! So for me it's worth the walk. Also they have a food truck here by the quiet pool serving a small menu of breakfast and lunch/dinner and also complimentary coffee. My husbands been going down there every morning for his coffee and he said it's not terrible lol. Definitely beats the walk to OPR.

complementary coffee? With the bridge out that is wonderful.

We are having breakfast at Cape May at the Beach Club Resort on the Thursday of our January trip and I was wondering how we should get there, since our reservation is at 9:35 ...

I had thought of taking the bus to Epcot and then walking over through the International Gateway, but World Showcase doesn't open until 11:00. Someone thought there was a bus from CBR to the Boardwalk, but I thought there were only busses from CBR to the parks and Disney Springs.

Can someone recommend a way of getting from CBR to Cape May for breakfast? Thanks in advance, for sharing your expertise!

:)

I would recommend taking the bus to Hollywood Studios then taking the boat to the Beach Club. If you go through Epcot - you have to wait until the park opens, walk all the way to the back then get to Beach Club. With Hollywood Studios the boat dock is to the side without going in the park. The boat ride is very nice too.

Makes me wonder why I paid for preferred room. LOL, I am a Northeast girl at heart and love food trucks.

Thanks! This is super helpful!

Awesome! It's so nice to see them sprinkling some extra pixie dust to make up for some of the headaches of bridge work! Yay for CBR!

You can always take the bus to Hollywood Studios (they will be running for early morning ADR's at HS) and then either a) take another bus back to Cape May (least desirable) b) if the boats are running take that over to Cape May (most relaxing) or c) walk from Hollywood to Cape May (most exercise / activity). Or cab / Uber to save time but spend a little bit of money.
Awesome advice! Thanks!

Well, this is good news, although I imagine that the driving force was declining food sales at OPR! But if it's a win-win situation for folks then it's an improved situation for sure!

Hi:) 17 days until our trip!! Never been to CBR!! Are there refrigerators and microwaves in the pirate rooms?

Ok. Have a few probably silly questions.
1. Check in is done at the Customs House?? Correct?
2. That is where I would need to go every few days to pay whatever charges I have made to my room if I choose to do that?
3. About how far of a walk is it from OPR? I don't mind walking just trying to get a feel for how long it may take.

1. Yes, you check in at Customs house.
2. You can go to Customs house, but it's more convenient to go to Old Port Royale where you will find a Guest Relations desk.
3. The distance between OPR and Customs house depends on how quickly you walk, but at a slow pace, 10 minutes would do it.

Connecting rooms question - so if I do online check in having requested connecting rooms and I am sent my room #s, would connecting rooms be one after the other in number (say 5 and 6) OR are they 1 off (2 and 4)? We land about 9:30pm so if I know the rooms are connected via the text/email I won't bother to check in at front desk. If they are not connected, I need to attempt to get connected meaning we have to go to desk check in. Hopefully this makes sense, TIA!

You won't be able to tell if your rooms are connecting just by the room numbers. You will be able to tell if they are right next to one another as they will be 1 number off from each other. But that does not guarantee there will be an interior door connecting the 2 rooms as not every room has them. Your best bet would be to go to the Custom House and find out if they are connecting so you will save yourself a trip if they are not.

Thanks,
Do they do proper cups in OPR that I can *borrow* for our room?:)

The cups in the rooms and in the food court are the paper/styrofoam type cups. The only place that we have had a "real" coffee cup is at a table service restaurant.
