Thanks!!

This isn't totally CBR related, BUT .... did you see the refillable mug designs? Any new colours this time around?

And, do the CBR bus stops have the new electronic bus wait times signs yet?

Hope you're having lots of fun!

Mug lid colors: red, blue, green and purple. I didn't see electronic bus wait times at our stop.

Are they proper coffee mugs in the rooms or paper ones?

Paper styrofoam type cups.

We just checked out yesterday morning after spending seven nights there. It was our first time at this resort. We drove down and when trying to get a hotel in Georgia we were told everything was sold out anywhere near and our best bet would be to drive 2 ½ hours and start looking there. We decided to see if we could get an extra night at CBR. After about ten minutes on the phone we were told they could accommodate us (it would be about 1 a.m. when we arrived) but after the first night we’d have to switch to the room we originally booked. We were fine with that. When we arrived and went to check in we were told we wouldn’t have to switch rooms and would be in the same room all seven nights. We booked a standard but got upgraded to a water view for the week. We were in Martinique 2255 which has a murphy bed which we knew we’d get since there were five of us. We had a great view just out our door of the water and beach. Our shortest son (about 5’4”) slept in the murphy bed. His feet hung off a bit and he said the bed was hard but he was fine for the week.

Every evening we ate dinner in the food court. The food was good and we normally got the kids a large pizza to share. We usually ate around 6 p.m. and the crowds were not bad at all. After dinner we went and roasted marshmallows for dessert, they did that every night from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

I think we lucked out with the bus service. We always seemed to be the first stop in the morning and after hitting one or more two stops it was standing room only. Bus service coming back wasn’t bad at all. We only had to wait long once. That was at Disney Springs and after getting in line (behind other families who were there before us) we had to wait 35 minutes for a bus. No one could explain why our bus never showed up and told us it was a busy time of night but heck, not one CBR bus for over 35 minutes, you should have seen the line of people waiting when one finally did show up.

The kids swam in the quiet pools each night. They’re teenagers so they preferred that one to the main pool. We just had to remember to get them towels each night before swimming.

Are pets allowed at this resort? We saw a little chihuahua in a room near us as he was barking at us when we walked by. Do they only allow pets in certain rooms? We were kind of surprised to see him.

I’m not sure if we’d stay here again or try somewhere else. As much as we don’t mind walking, I can’t imagine the long walk and having to walk that each time while going to OPR if we were in some of the buildings farther away.

All in all, a good vacation. And we spent six days in the parks and for the first time ever we didn't get any rain! :flower1:

Thanks for your review! It sounds like you had a great time and got to spend quite a bit of time at the resort. Pets aren't supposed to be in the rooms unless they are a service dog.

I'm getting nervous and second guessing CBR after hearing some of the reviews. We have always got connecting rooms when requested, but I'm reading so much on here about that not being the case. Just wondering if I made a big mistake booking CBR instead of AOA. I don't want our family split across the resort.

We have been to the CBR with other family members at least four times and every time, our requests for adjoining and connecting rooms has been granted. Just make sure that all of your reservations are "linked". That way, the system and room assigner knows that you are traveling together.

I am staying with my 4 kids at CBR in February and have really bad room luck it seems. I'd like to put in a room request if possible. If you aren't paying for preferred, where would you request? Our travel agent has us in a "water view" room if that matters. I didn't request that but I guess that's how we were booked. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!! :)

Water view rooms can be located anywhere in the resort and look at any body of water..lake, quiet pool, etc. Having said that, we have stayed in all of the villages with the exception of Trinidad North and South. Our favorite is Jamaica. This past trip, we were in the furthest building in Jamaica and the walk wasn't bad for any of us. Another favorite is Martinique since not all of those buildings are preferred.

Do they deliver? We are hoping to do a delivery while we are there :) Glad you had a nice stay. We are excited to go in November.
We picked it up during a Wal Mart run. We have had it delivered to Pop before so I would assume so since Pop is so close to CBR. We picked up at the Apopka/Vineland location, but it may have been the Irlo Bronson location that delivered. It was a few years ago and I can't remember!

Thanks. They are linked. We needed two rooms and I had to put my DH in the other room so that would be bad if he was on the other side of the resort. We have done this many times in the past, but never at CBR. We have always got them elsewhere. So I am hopeful, but reading these reviews I was nervous, because we are going thanksgiving week and I'm sure the resort is 100% booked

Hello all! I hope that you are all enjoying the last bit of the weekend. I wrote an article for Magical DIStractions and it is all about Old Port Royale. It not only covers the food court but also Shutter's, Concierge, shopping and the arcade. You can read and comment here: http://*******************.com/old-...h-resort-a-fantastic-place-to-dine-shop-play/
Nice article Lisa, thanks.

About a month ago I was innocently working on my laptop, daydreaming about the refurbed Pirate rooms, when I got an email from Frontier about a $20 fare sale. The special rate was good for Cleveland-Orlando trips only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so tomorrow I fly down to WDW, check into a Pirate room, meet Josh at Epcot to work on our book, and then fly back to CLE early Wednesday morning!!

I'll post photos on my site of the refurbed room Wednesday or Thursday, and with my trusty tape measure will then confirm (I expect) what others have posted--that the Pirate beds remain fulls, not queens!

Oh man, I live outside of Cleveland, I had no idea we could get such cheap deals to Orlando :(

Enjoy your trip.

Rocky River, here! Frontier has some crazy sales. But you do have to add bag fees (even for carry-ons), fees to pick a seat, etc. Still got it for $62 each way!!

We are having breakfast at Cape May at the Beach Club Resort on the Thursday of our January trip and I was wondering how we should get there, since our reservation is at 9:35 ...

I had thought of taking the bus to Epcot and then walking over through the International Gateway, but World Showcase doesn't open until 11:00. Someone thought there was a bus from CBR to the Boardwalk, but I thought there were only busses from CBR to the parks and Disney Springs.

Can someone recommend a way of getting from CBR to Cape May for breakfast? Thanks in advance, for sharing your expertise!

:)

If we have an early AM ADR at a park, we take the bus. If we have one at another resort, we take a taxi. We have at least 1 breakfast ADR at Cape May every trip and the taxi is usually ~$15. The taxi will pick you up at the circular drive of your building and drop you off right at the front door of BC.

You can always take the bus to Hollywood Studios (they will be running for early morning ADR's at HS) and then either a) take another bus back to Cape May (least desirable) b) if the boats are running take that over to Cape May (most relaxing) or c) walk from Hollywood to Cape May (most exercise / activity). Or cab / Uber to save time but spend a little bit of money.

Howdy neighbor! I live in the very western end of Lakewood, just a stones throw from Rocky River.

And that fair is amazing. I'll have to keep my eyes out for some good fares. My son went to Seattle last most and paid less than $200 round trip with a checked bag, he really liked Frontier.
