Quick question!! We are landing at noonish...and will stop to eat before getting on DME. Our luggage will be delivered by DME whenever it arrives. We have dinner plans at Fulton Crab House for 5pm. Is this going to be pushing it??

Hello, I am new to these boards and welcome all this wonderful information. I am staying at CBR for 3 days and then catching the Disney shuttle to Port Canaveral for our Disney cruise. Can someone tell me how we go about doing this? I'm trying to figure out what will happen when we check-out and what time the bus comes to get us? Would we have time to use the pool at the resort? I would rather not wait around in the lobby for hours. Can someone who has recently done this explain the process? Thank you so much!

Last December my DD and I had spent the night before our cruise at AOA. Upon checkin we were given an envelope with all the information needed about luggage and time the shuttle would
pick up at the resort. Someone came to the room that morning to pickup any luggage that was not going to be carried on. I believe our resort pickup was around 11:30 but had to be at the staging area by 11:00 to be checked in. We were on the ship by 1:30. By this time our cabins were ready to leave our carry on items and we went to get some lunch. The whole process went smoothly and had no problems.
Have a fun trip.pooh:

Does anyone have pictures of the bridge construction? Also what is the expected finish date? I thought I saw on one website that it was closed until December 25th.

Nobody who has been to CBR recently or is there now has posted any pictures of the bridge. Hint, hint people. :rolleyes1

It supposed to be closed until Nov. 26th.

Sorry... we never went over to that side of the resort (other than while on the bus) since we stayed in Trinidad North. It looked like the bridge was still there, so not sure how it might be modified.

We're all checked in and settled! Traffic in Atlanta delayed us (2 semis crashed on an overpass, sending one tumbling over the edge, onto another major highway!), so we're here later than planned. We got the text with our room number around 4:30- no requests were met (Martinique & trundle); we're in Aruba, but at least the parking lot is right outside our door, so we'll just drive to OPR. Other tham missing the trundle, the room is awesome! The decor is reminiscent of a high-end hotel and I really love the sliding doors for the bathroom!

I tried the shuttle to get some snacks (alone, while DH dealt with kids who didn't want to sleep, haha); I won't be using it again. It's very difficult to climb in and out of and I'm pretty young, and it wasn't pleasant being is such an enclosed space with people who obviously smoked (no offense, smokers, I am just extra sensitive).

OPR was out of monkey cupcakes, so I settled for pineapple upside down cake- nothing special, but I've had worse! Now, time for bed :wave2:
I have not been on here since we got back. Sorry we didn't run into each other! I also wanted to say that I am really disappointed about you not getting the trundle! Keep in mind, this trip was just DH and I. The first room they gave us was in Jamaica and had a trundle. The fridge was apparently never cleaned so they moved us after seeing the picture we took to the Customs House. The second room we got was in Aruba...and you guessed it, it had a trundle too! I felt really guilty for having something I would not use and that I knew darn good and well that people like you really wanted/needed it. I would have traded you if I could have! I hope you had a great time like we did!

Sorry, I didn't get a picture either. Although there was nothing to take a picture of! Yellow tape and a sign saying it was closed (you know the sign, closed to make everything better for you) :) . The boat shuttle driver said that it was supposed to open Nov. 20th but, it would probably be more like the 26th or 27th. He explained that they are lowering the arc of the bridge. It is too steep for wheel chairs and such.

Just a few things pertaining to Aruba & Jamaica transportation until the bridge is fixed: The boat shuttle that runs until dusk, is awesome! It holds 10 people per trip and moves back and forth extremely quickly. The vans during the day seem very frequent. The vans late at night are VERY slow. After two nights of waiting and thinking "we could have been there by now", we decided we would walk it the last few nights.

Trundle rooms: Jamaica Building 41, room 4115 & Aruba 55, room 5529 are both rooms with trundles.

The playground is definitely accessible from OPR side! :)

If you are using Magical Express, make sure you check your boarding passes before you leave the area when checking your bags in! Apparently there were 2 people staying at CBR with the same name. DH and a man from Dallas. DH got the other guys boarding pass and they sent DH's luggage to Dallas instead of NC. We did not notice until we were about to go through security at the airport. Trust me, NOT GOOD. They fixed the boarding pass but, we did not get the luggage until Tuesday and we left on Saturday. This could happen at any of the Disney Resorts so, no matter which one you are staying at....CHECK YOUR BOARDING PASS!

We are going down in December. My wife pretty much only drinks Milo's Splenda tea. Since we won't have a car there I am getting Garden Grocer to pick it up and deliver to us. Since it doesn't contain any preservatives we have to keep it cold. I know I can keep a 1 gallon container in the fridge, but not sure about 2 gallons?

Anyone know if you can fit in 2- 1 gallon milk jugs (since that is what they come in) into the fridge?

TIA

What time does the boat start running please and is it an issue having to walk across the beach to get to it ?
Thanks

I think of it as: you're landing at noon, not getting on DME for another hour plus. Then, add an hour for the trip to CBR. That puts you at 2 pm...at the earliest. Then, checking in and getting to your room. You should be okay. Might want to consider taking a cab/uber instead of the bus to get you to Fulton if you're running later.

This might help (from another site). We never used gallons, only half gallons. So, they might have to be on their sides? Not sure with the way the shelf on the door takes up a lot of the space on the btm shelf.

Here is a pictures of the fridge that I took during our recent stay. As you can see, there's a small freezer section on the top right. It's been reported that not all of the refigerators have the freezer section. We had two half gallon items in this picture.

and, here is a picture that I took during another stay and there's a gallon of milk in the fridge:

I never went early on the boat but, I believe it was at 6:30 when OPR opens. There is sidewalk all the way to the beach and then the beach is 20' - 25' or so I think. It's not far at all. I stink at measuring but, I would walk it even if I had crutches if that helps. LOL
