I'm staying here for the first time in May!! Can't wait!! Thank you for all the info!!!

Yey, we will be staying here 8th-29th october. Seriously cant wait. Our last trip in 2011 we stayed at POR french quarter and loved it but decided to give CBR a try this time. Love the newly renovated rooms

I think I'm booking CBR today! Can someone reco best preferred building? I need one with a murphy bed. Going 5/23-5/30

We are staying at the CBR in the Pirate Rooms (small children age 2 and 7 who are very excited, especially the pirate loving 2 year old) . . . We have a couple of questions so that we can plan/purchase/pack accordingly.

1) do the rooms have microwaves?

2) are the coffee makers in the pirate rooms the older style makers and not the newer ones that take a different kind/size of pre-packaged coffee? (we are picky coffee drinkers from Louisiana and have to have Community Coffee, which we can get in small prepackaged form for a 4 to 8 cup maker)

3) Have you ever ordered items from Amazon and had them delivered to CBR? (we plan to do this for bottled water and snacks since we are flying in, we may also order mattress toppers as we have very nice memory foam at home and know that we are going back to a standard matress in these rooms, and no we aren't crazy they are as cheap at $20)

We Love Caribbean Beach for the "escape" feel of the resort! Can't wait to be there in April!!! :goodvibes :hyper:

I can't speak about the pirate room, but I did put in an order through amazon.

I stayed at the CBR from Dec 12 to 19. I put in 2 major orders with Amazon for water, shoes and a bunch of stuff. I had the amazon order shipped on the 9th and 10th, and the order arrived before we did. The staff at the CBR kept our package, and delivered it to our room along with our luggage.

IT WAS MAGICAL!

Will be at CBR for marathon weekend. Planning on doing my usual breakfast before runs which involves toast and peanut butter. I plan on bringing everything with me but wondering if the food court has toasters I can use?

Thanks for everyone's help and comments on this thread to help me plan a great vacation! 7 days and counting!! :cool1:

We did this with bagels & cream cheese in November. There are toasters in the food court near the drink machines. There were also plates & lids in case you want to carry something back to your room. Worked very well for us.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Thank you for all the great info! My husband and I are trying to figure out where we want to go for our next WDW trip. I think this is where we will stay thinking of Martinique bld 35 first floor for med reasons can anyone tell me more about this area?? Thanks

Thank you OP, and everyone who contributed to this thread. This will now be a solo trip, and I switched from CS to here and saved $$$$$. The savings will more than cover my pass renewal come next fall. :goodvibes I stayed at Trinidad North and South. I am thinking Martinique or Barbados this time, something different.

I was pleased that the menu, while always good at the sit down , is even better.

29 more days ! :goodvibes

If any one here would like a physical map, let me know. I would be happy to get one and mail it.

Hello all :) we are planning on trying the CBR for our trip in October. We are loyal POR lovers, so I have been reading through all of your posts to grow excited about staying at the Caribbean Beach! I hope to book preferred, but noticed online today when pricing that only the standard rooms had the designation as room for 5 and we need the Murphy bed. Do any of you experts know whether or not the Murphy beds will also be available in preferred when the refurb is complete? That could be a deal breaker for us....

Was anyone able to get discounts this spring? I have tried a bounce back and the spring discount and the only availability is a king. My son who has become too cool for Disney is suddenly "willing" to go if we stay here. I can afford the room so I booked but it kills me to pay full price.

I was able to get the spring deal BUT had to book the day the promo went out on Dec 29th!

We don't know for sure because so far, they haven't refurbed any preferred rooms...I doubt that they would NOT include some.

I bet they aren't going to be bookable until at least some are complete.

Yes, but like pp I also booked the day the discounts came out. I wanted POR but they had no discounted rooms left so we switched to CBR which at the time seemed to have plenty left for early May.

We were booked at the CBR since June in a preferred room for our April trip however when the Spring specials came out there were none available for us in preferred. We ended up switching to a POR Royal Guest Room to be able to take advantage of the special. We also could afford the full price and were looking forward to our first stay at the CBR but hated paying full price when specials were available. Our last trip in 2013 was to POR so we know our girls will love it.

Thank you to everyone here who contributes such valuable information. You have definitely sold us on a resort that we had never considered. Hopefully when we plan our 2017 trip we will be able to stay here!

I am back in cold Iowa after a wonderful trip to WDW and the Gulf Coast. We stayed in room 4251 and here are my thoughts...

CBR is so much more peaceful and beautiful than I imagined. We saw very few people and felt like hardly anyone was there even tho I think it was full. We appreciated the quiet after long days in the parks. The landscaping was much more lush and beautiful than pictures. Lots of blooming flowers.

Housekeeping was excellent. No problems at all.

The renovated room was exactly what I was hoping to get because DH and I were on a 25th anniversary trip and did not want a fun kid friendly room.

We paid for a standard room but believe we were upgraded because we had a gorgeous view of water and beach and hammocks. Nice to get pixie dust. I asked for an upper floor because it would be quieter but no worries as we heard nothing at all.

The parking lot was often full and we had to park next door at a different building.

We took a nap in the hammocks and I am pleased to report they hold 2 people very comfortably. We took the nap Saturday afternoon and had helicopters circling overhead repeatedly. They must have been from DTD and were rides you could pay for? I tried to pretend I was a celebrity and they were following me but it didn't work, I was just annoyed.

We only took the bus one time and it was an unexpectedly long hike and I would not have liked to do it more than once. If you have a car and want to take the bus, park at OPR and use the bus stop right by the parking lot.

The pool was fun and the hot tub great. We saw the kids playing lots of games provided by the staff which was really nice. They seemed to be doing a great job with the kids.

I would definitely stay here again.

Apologize if this has been posted, did not see it.

Permits have been filed for "Room Rehabs" on the Pirate Rooms, Buildings 34-30 to be complete October 3, 2015.

Very curious what the plan is, will it still be themed, queen beds hopefully...

We were in room 4253 and can echo everything you said except for the treat of the helicopters! The room was wonderful, housekeeper was super friendly & re-arranged her schedule once she realized we sleep in, the landscaping was breathtaking. BUT good-grief .. the walk to the parking lot was ridiculous!! Felt we needed a GPS to find the building :rolleyes1

And i'm fairly confident that our room was upgraded to the perfect view as well. Even had the treat of it being a corner room which was on my wish list but i never mentioned it out loud to even the hubby

Thanks. That's what I figured, but was just wondering if anyone knew for sure. Will book by March, so I can do our dining reservations. Hopefully if they aren't up online yet, we will be able to book by phone. :)

Can you add me to the list?
5/25 - 6/2/14. Booked preferred through Orbitz with GIFTME code. I'm thinking about getting my park tickets through Orbitz as well. No flight booked yet. Still hoping for a good deal out of CLE.

It will be me, DH, kids and my mom. Should be interesting in one room :rotfl2:
Now I need to get a new ticker!

Just booked to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary May 6th thru 13th.
