Thank you so much for all the information on this thread.
We are staying at the CBR in the Pirate Rooms (small children age 2 and 7 who are very excited, especially the pirate loving 2 year old) . . . We have a couple of questions so that we can plan/purchase/pack accordingly.
1) do the rooms have microwaves?
2) are the coffee makers in the pirate rooms the older style makers and not the newer ones that take a different kind/size of pre-packaged coffee? (we are picky coffee drinkers from Louisiana and have to have Community Coffee, which we can get in small prepackaged form for a 4 to 8 cup maker)
3) Have you ever ordered items from Amazon and had them delivered to CBR? (we plan to do this for bottled water and snacks since we are flying in, we may also order mattress toppers as we have very nice memory foam at home and know that we are going back to a standard matress in these rooms, and no we aren't crazy they are as cheap at $20)
We Love Caribbean Beach for the "escape" feel of the resort! Can't wait to be there in April!!!![]()

Will be at CBR for marathon weekend. Planning on doing my usual breakfast before runs which involves toast and peanut butter. I plan on bringing everything with me but wondering if the food court has toasters I can use?
Thanks for everyone's help and comments on this thread to help me plan a great vacation! 7 days and counting!!![]()
Hello allwe are planning on trying the CBR for our trip in October. We are loyal POR lovers, so I have been reading through all of your posts to grow excited about staying at the Caribbean Beach! I hope to book preferred, but noticed online today when pricing that only the standard rooms had the designation as room for 5 and we need the Murphy bed. Do any of you experts know whether or not the Murphy beds will also be available in preferred when the refurb is complete? That could be a deal breaker for us....
Was anyone able to get discounts this spring? I have tried a bounce back and the spring discount and the only availability is a king. My son who has become too cool for Disney is suddenly "willing" to go if we stay here. I can afford the room so I booked but it kills me to pay full price.

I am back in cold Iowa after a wonderful trip to WDW and the Gulf Coast. We stayed in room 4251 and here are my thoughts...
CBR is so much more peaceful and beautiful than I imagined. We saw very few people and felt like hardly anyone was there even tho I think it was full. We appreciated the quiet after long days in the parks. The landscaping was much more lush and beautiful than pictures. Lots of blooming flowers.
Housekeeping was excellent. No problems at all.
The renovated room was exactly what I was hoping to get because DH and I were on a 25th anniversary trip and did not want a fun kid friendly room.
We paid for a standard room but believe we were upgraded because we had a gorgeous view of water and beach and hammocks. Nice to get pixie dust. I asked for an upper floor because it would be quieter but no worries as we heard nothing at all.
The parking lot was often full and we had to park next door at a different building.
We took a nap in the hammocks and I am pleased to report they hold 2 people very comfortably. We took the nap Saturday afternoon and had helicopters circling overhead repeatedly. They must have been from DTD and were rides you could pay for? I tried to pretend I was a celebrity and they were following me but it didn't work, I was just annoyed.
We only took the bus one time and it was an unexpectedly long hike and I would not have liked to do it more than once. If you have a car and want to take the bus, park at OPR and use the bus stop right by the parking lot.
The pool was fun and the hot tub great. We saw the kids playing lots of games provided by the staff which was really nice. They seemed to be doing a great job with the kids.
I would definitely stay here again.
We don't know for sure because so far, they haven't refurbed any preferred rooms...I doubt that they would NOT include some. I bet they aren't going to be bookable until at least some are complete.
