Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

We're currently booked into CBR but are seriously considering a late swap to a AoA family suite (preferably Building 10 so I'm walking on a stick distance from the bus stop and the food hall. I will also have a scooter.

Do you think I'm mad? How quiet is AoA and are we mad to consider moving only 27 days from our trip? thanks.

We just finished our stay at AoA LM standard room. The resort was so much fun, so animated and bright and cheerful. I went in saying I didn't care how far we had to walk to our room, and it rang true for the first 2 or 3 days, but by day 4-7 we found the walk to be a wee bit far at the end of our days. LOL!! The food was really really good, though, we loved the fresh made right in front of you stuff, although some busier evenings it was a bit of a wait to get it. All in all, a great stay with super friendly staff (although mousekeeping could have done a better job, but still acceptable), next time I would pick a closer building though. lol

Do family suites give you a lot of paper products in the kitchenette? (Such as plates, bowls, napkins, ect) We will be eating most of our breakfasts in the room, and I am just wondering if I should buy some products before we go!

I am happy to hear you enjoyed the stay! I will be there in the Spring staying at a Nemo suite. Just wondering about your comment about mousekeeping. Did they clean your room/make beds everyday? If not how often did they give your room service?

They made the beds, and gave new towels, but I swear that one towel was just refolded and put back up as it was obviously dirty when I took it off of the rack (I had left it over the tub), and the same 2 elastics (those ones that are similar to rainbow loom ones) were on the bathroom floor for our entire stay, and they weren't ours. LOL! They cleaned the important things, we always had toilet paper and shampoo, etc. I just am really picky about having a super clean bathroom. lol

Hi all! We will be staying at AoA Lion King Suites next week. I was thinking of putting in a room request in advance. I have read that the rooms directly next to the outside stairwells are noisy due to the stairwell doors slamming. Does anyone have any experiences w/ noisy stairwell doors? Or is the room right next to the elevator noisy?

Thanks for any info!

Random question: Is there a plug for electronics next to the table bed? I need to have a alarm clock for our first morning because of a early ADR so if I can plug in a power adapter for my phone that would be good. Thanks!

Hi! We stayed in a Cars suite in September third floor lake view room at the end of the hall right next to a stairwell and had no noise at all. In fact, it was one of the quietest rooms we have ever had, maybe we just got lucky but I would request this room again in a heartbeat.

I'm looking at our pictures from when we stayed in a LK suite and my 24yo DS used the table bed. While I can't specifically see an outlet in any of the pictures (simply because they're not at the right angle), I *can* see a digital alarm clock and my son's phone with a power cord attached to it (I'm assuming it's plugged in) on the end table beside the table bed.

Staying my first night at AoA LM room. So excited. Solo trip and my kids (adults) never wanted to stay there.

Do the pools have floaties of some sort available? Or do I need to pack some from home? Specifically for a toddler.

Yes, they provide paper plates, bowls, cups, napkins, paper towels, cutlery. You can also grab some condiments (jam, honey, hot sauce, creamer) from the food court so no need to pack those. Suites have the little hotel coffee makers.

There is also a can opener, which remarkably, did NOT include a bottle opener. We had to buy one in the gift shop to open our green bottle beer from Garden Grocer.

Our room was right next to the elevator on the top floor. Never heard any hall noise there either.

Don't worry - you'll be awake! My scooter will be coming first thing so I'll need to be up for that - but you know we're always awake at 5am on our first morning!

I'm sure there's an alarm clock in the room - Disney standard. However, if it's anything like the CBR one we won't know how to set it! It also won't help if it's in our bedroom and you're in either the sofa bed or the table bed.

I set up wake up calls before we went to sleep every night. You pick the time, and you get an automatic phone call from an automated voice recording (was baymax when we were there)... phone is really loud and annoying so definately woke us up. lol

Yeah, I'll probably do that! Is it still Olaf on wake-up duty?

Just can't wait to stay at AOA in 25 days!!!!!!!!
