Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

No, the resort is opening in sections. The nemo opened first, then cars, Lion King will be on the 10th I believe and LM on Sept 15. It's not completed yet.

Right! I was asking the PP how the bus driver could say they couldn't get LM guests out fast enough for new guests to check-in...making it sound like LM rooms were already open...I was just confused by the statement.

I returned from WDW late Saturday night. During my trip one of the bus drivers said they can't get the last guest out of the LM section fast enough before the next guest arrives. Maybe they should have built more standard rooms and fewer suites. It was pretty quite when I was there, capacity was at 40%. I don't know if it was 40% off total resort capacity or 40% of what is open now. I found the fences around the pools aesthetically unappealing.

At the price of $300.00 dollars per night it would not be a suprise if the whole resort were at that capacity. They stopped production on one half of a value resort because of the economy so why did they think the attendance would be better at a resort where a lot of it is three times the price?

The popularity of the LM rooms must be mentioned in a corporate newsletter?:confused3 It's still cheaper to get two rooms that would sleep eight, minus the kitchenette.

We will be staying in the Lion King Suite Oct 13-17 so excited to hear all about this resort its our first "official" Disney Room we'll be staying in (we camped in our camper at Fort Wilderness in June for a couple of nights with no park admission)

Just jumping on to say good morning. I can't believe how time flys 52 days and we will be at LK section of AOA . I just love everything we have seen so far!

Thought you all might like to see the activities at the resort.

Did I miss something? What are the one hour tours?

I hope those tours are available even if you're not staying at the AoA resort. On my next trip, staying at AKL, one of my main "must do"s is going to the AoA resort for lunch, gelato, and now the tour is added.

I really thought the playground was going to be more...detailed. Slides... Monkey bars...etc.

I am a little disappointed in the "playground" as well!

Mark me as sad too. My kids are older and like to climb and hang on things.....Here is hoping they will have a little more to do near Mermaid in terms of getting their primate tendencies out.:thumbsup2

It's a tour of the resort. We didn't do it, but it sounded fun.

I figured it was a tour of the resort, but is it just a CM walking you around? Do you go into rooms to get to see them? Do they share interesting tidbits about the resort? How is it different than walking yourself around the resort?

I'm surprised that there isn't at least one slide in there somewhere. It looks like they can climb all over, but that's about it.

Anyone that has been there know where the laundry room(s)are? We're staying in lion king if it matters. DH and I were just talking, we don't normally do laundry on vacation but with our newborn I think it will be a must!

we are going to take or DD's 9 and 3 to Disney. We stayed at CBR with the oldest several years ago. Loved it but both girls love Ariel. So we will attempt to book the LM rooms.

Two questions

1) Does the AoA only have 1 bus stop like other value resorts?
2) I noticed that the amenities section said a mini fridge is in the room is this free or with a price? Are they in all rooms or just Suites?

Thanks

I believe that I saw signs in the pics/video of the elephant boneyard that said "Paws on the Ground" No climbing, just walking through and in and out? It looks like an attractive nuisance if it wasn't built for climbing on. :confused3
