Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel

I think I'm more interested to see pictures of The Lion King section than anything. I'm dying to see what Disney can do with a full courtyard with no pool in the LK theme!

I am anxious to see the LK, also. It's such a colorful movie with wonderful characters and music in it. It's going to be so much fun walking thru there to go from the LM section to the Nemo area. We saw the stage play and loved it.

I know but it seems like everything we've seen in the drawings looks so drab and dreary, just rocks and sand and desert.

Thinking about changing our resort from POP to AoA this September. Looking at the family suites. Does anyone know how many TV's the suite will have?

From the pictures, it looks like two. One in the living area and one in the master bedroom area. HTH.

Typically, closing hours at value pools mean that the lifeguards are no longer there after that time. People can still swim though.

I'm curious about how that will work with the gate, though. And is the pool bar outside the gate?! I'd hope the pool bar would be open til midnight at least.

That's how it was last March when we were there at POP. At 8pm the lifeguards stood up, did some complicated little closing routine, told everyone to be safe, and left. We stayed an hour or so longer and had no issues with any CMs over the pool hours.

It looks like the pool bar is inside the fence from a couple photos I saw. I have a feeling that the bar will close at 10:00pm when the pool closes, but I could be wrong. It just doesn't seem likely that they would keep the bar open if the pool is supposed to be officially closed. I wonder if other resort's bars stay open 'after pool hours'?

My apologies for questions already asked and answered on the huge thread.

Is this being built at the area abandoned near Pop Century? We just sold our DVC contract so we are looking at alternative places for future stays. We won't be going nearly as often due to DW's health which was the reason for selling.

This resort looks so darn cute! Makes me pine for those days when my children were young and we had great trips at All Star Movies and Music!

Yes it is the area that was going to be The Lengendary years. Little mermaid is the building that was on the site .

I agree. I am wondering if AoA will be included in the next set. I think they only added it this time because so many people canceled when free dining was offered at other resorts. They might not offer it at first and wait to see if people cancel. As much as I want free dinning I think we will still pay OOP for AoA's dining as I think my DD would be crushed if I canceled now.

I think that AoA will eventually be offered for wihter FD. I think that the economics will force many to cancel in favor of a resort with FD. It is certianly true for us. If we cannot get FD at AoA, we will be moving to a Moderate. I ran the numbers, and for us (2A 1C) it would be $400 cheaper to move to a mod with FD and $600 cheaper to move to a value with FD. For a family that had 4 disney adults the figure is more like $1000 difference. The larger the family, the more the savings. This is also true moving between AoA suites and allstar family suites or 2 value rooms. The savings goes down a little moving to 2 mod rooms, but is still significant.

I am sorry if this has been answered, I tried to look and I even did a search :) Are there elevators in the LM buildings? Thank you!

I have not personally looked into it (didn't cross my mind that LM buildings wouldn't), but would assume so. The LM buildings are the unfinished/abandoned POP buildings. POP has elevators, so I would think that LM will as well.

I forgot about that, I bet you are right. Thanks

Yes, or at least it did at Pop. When we were there in December, the pool "closed" (no lifeguards) at 8, but the pool bar was open way past that.

I really enjoy relaxing with a drink at the resort bar after a day at the parks; I would be kind of bummed to not have that option at AoA.
