Clairelly, we'll be AKL concierge next August too. The concierge lounge is on the 6th floor, while the "concierge" rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors. Technically, from what I hear, you could "beg" that your room be practically anyplace and still have concierge services, but that would put you further from the lounge.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Viki. In terms of the map, are the concierge rooms spread right across each trail?

What dates are you there?

hello all,
Considering doing a split stay at AK. I here the bus service is pretty good, but i need help on one question.

i will be needing a standard room closest to the bus stop, i am looking at the AK map is girfaffe trail a good section and are some of those standard rooms, also looking at the Kudu and Zebra trail and on the map looks a long walk to the bus stop is this true.
To get to the bus stop you need to exit through the front of the lobby (or the Zawadi Marketplace). I don't recall any other exits off of Giraffe Trail, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong I hope. It IS a long walk from out on the ends of Kudu and Zebra Trails. In your situation I would request to be as near as possible to the lobby. You might also want to request 3rd floor, which is the same floor as the lobby.

I don't know about the spread of the concierge rooms - could someone else help? (This is an extremely knowledgeable group).

We'll be there August 26-Sept 3, how about you all?

I would like to know also........thanks

....most of the concierge rooms on the 6th floor surround/overlook the lobby. Then, there are plenty of concierge rooms on the fifth floor that have savannah views and they are located just off the lobby.....

Silly question (no throwing things at me! :duck: ) but is the pool heated? We are going for New Years and the week following and would love to swim some.

The pools are, indeed, heated, and we have gone swimming in January (at WL), but there are different definitions of "heated" and different definitions of "swimming." My teens swam. I jumped out and headed to the hot tub. Lots of folk don't know that it can quite cold at the world in January. When I lived there it was not impossible to capture snow flurries on my nose as I waited at the bus stop. ;)

Can you tell me what the pool hours are please? Also does anyone have a pic of the daily activities, or a list of what they usually are ? I am interrested to know when we should get there to enjoy them. We will be checking out of POP (from a 5 night stay) and checking into AKL for another 5 nights on a Thursday :Pinkbounc . Thanks for your help

The pool is open 24 hours, but the lifeguards go off duty and the slide is closed...I think at 9:00 or 10:00 pm.

Yes the pools are open 24 hours but they do close the water slide when the lifeguard goes off duty. It is absolutely heavenly after dark.
