KIM............... I'm SOOO far behind at work and with my class, that I'm wondering if I'll ever get caught up and be able to sit and do a proper report! But, since you are patiently waiting for some news on AKL, let me just tell you a bit. IT WAS FABULOUS! I would stay there again in a heartbeat, and this is coming from a WL lover. From the moment I walked in I just knew it was going to be different, and it was, but very special. The check in was easy, no long wait, and although we didn't get the request (close to the elevator for a medical reason, and Zebra Trail), we weren't really disappointed, and the savannah view was incredible. We were on Kudu Trail, and I have some really nice pictures of the animals from my balcony. We loved the room, and they have a nice touch I wish the WL would add to their bathroom area, and that is a shelf that runs the width of the double sinks. So nice when you have tons of things like lotions, creams, deodorant, etc, for 4 people! The actual tub/potty area was a bit smaller than WL, but workable. There was a nice sized fridge in the room, and we unexpectedly got bunk beds, which worried me since both my boys are over 6', but they fit in them just fine, and were really happy with them. I was a bit taken back that you had to walk outside to get to Mara, but honestly, the walk is so nice, it's a beautiful covered path that passes the pool, and it's actually very nice to go out there and take a little walk. Mara was fabulous as food courts go. Nice selection of foods, and very big. My DH especially enjoyed their selection of fresh fruits since he is on a healthy diet now. My DSs enjoyed the junk food like the pizzas and the nice sized breakfast plates (they are NOT on a healthy diet!). Boma was so nice, and the food was just beyond description. I cannot tell a lie, we did try to get our reservation switched to spend the last 3 nights at AKL, but could not do it. So we moved over to our first love, WL..........and that's when the nightmare began!
