Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

I just returned from All Star Sports. We stayed in the Surf's up Building 1. We faced away from the pool toward the courtyard. Our room location was quiet. Very few people walking by our rooms.
Renovations are still going on in the main building. Yes, it is a pain especially if you are going to the buses or are using the food court.
The staff was okay, nothing special.
It was very crowded. Especially at checkin and in the food court.
The main pool was nice with plenty of chairs. It did seem to be heated at least a little bit.
Yes, they do have hair dryers in the room and irons.
Rooms were okay, nothing great. We did request connecting rooms and that is what we got.
I was disappointed in the people smoking at the resort. They were not in the smoking areas but would just smoke hanging off the walkways.
I do not know anything about the buses, we rented a car. With our little ones, the buses just would not have worked out.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Overall the resort was what you would expect for the money. Not glamorous, but clean.

I saw someone post they moved the bed. I might be doing this since DD (19 months) might not like the PNP. Are the beds on wheels? I thought I remember from previous trips they were platform types that didn't move?

Just returned and they are platform beds. At least the room with 2 doubles are! We found the resort to be nice. The renovations were kind of a pain but not terrible. The rooms are nicer now that they are renovated. We had some very nice cast members. We did have luggage delivery problems in the beginning but I don't think that is a problem with ASSp only. It took us nearly 12 hours to get our luggage and the worst part was we kept calling and they kept saying they were already on their way...finally we found out that they had NOT been sent out for delivery when we had been told they were. That was the first time we had difficulties with luggage delivery from the ME.

Summerrluvv,

The beds are not on wheels. Even so, they are not that hard to move (The post you did refer to was mine :-) )

A point to consider is that, although you can get the bed against the wall, there exists a small "gap" between mattress and wall. It was not a problem with our daughter (6 years old), but *maybe*¨it could be so with your daughter.

Regards,

Luis

Ahhh, thank you! She has little limbs, so they might get stuck. We'll just pray that the PNP works! Thanks!

Mmm... Both, the blanket and the Comforter are quite thick. Maybe you could use the blanket as a "filler" for the gap...

I used Disney's bed rails when we were there in Sept, they were very clean and worked great. You could put an extra pillow or a blanket between your dd and the bed rail.
I requested bed rails when I made our ressies, they weren't there when we checked in, but I called the front desk and they brought them up within 30 min. Next time I won't even both requesting, I'll just call down when we get there.

Can anyone tell me if ASSp has coke zero for the refillable mug? We drink about a gallon a day! :rotfl:

There is not Coke Zero at the beverage station. For Coke there is only diet, regular and cherry. Have fun. :)

Anyone going to be there this holiday season?

I only wish I were! We've been the last two Decembers but decided to stay home this year. Now I'm thinking it would be so nice to be there again. :goodvibes
