Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Just wondering what the bathroom decor is like in the toystory rooms? We love the look of the star shower curtains and border in bathrooms! However it looks like maybe thats just in the dalamation rooms?Any pics would be great! We are so excited to stay here!I have a pin code and could probably swing a moderate or maybe a deluxe but the theming at movies is so cool! Also it really looks like the rooms arent much bigger in the other resorts just maybe a better lobby area!We were originally booked at the wilderness lodge but seriously the rooms look about the same as all star movies!I am also having trouble getting over the fact that there are no microwaves in the rooms! We are going to eat out and would just like to heat up our leftover food in the room!Oh well!I know we can use one in foodcourt.

i don't have pics except on fb...photobucket just takes forever! we were in fantasia in october and those bathrooms are stars as well. we love movies too! we leave tomorrow for 1 nite there then 2 weeks at wl. i think accdoring to my passporters that the rooms in wl are bigger, i know the vanity is and theres actually room to keep your stuff and two sinks. im looking forward to a bit more room this trip! lol now i must get myself away from this computer and do the ten million things i need to finish before we leave!

Great website for pictures is..

Here are their pictures of the bathrooms. I thought I had taken pictures of it the first time we went, but apparently not. But yes, I too like the bathrooms with the stars.

My daughter and I went to DW together almost exactly 2 years ago. It was her college graduation present. So now she is 24, and we are returning this December. Again, just she and I, since no one else in the family has the same Disney appreciation we do. (no little ones in the family any more/yet)

We stayed at ASMu before and really liked it. We chose it because it was a remodeled/updated property. I don't think we had a shared bus with the other resorts at all. But we want to stay at ASMo this time for the theming. I think I am willing to pay the extra for a preferred room if it really is significantly closer, but not sure any of them look too far, compared to Music. We had the Jazz building there and didn't find the walk too far. And if you end up at the far end of one of the preferred buildings, you may as well try for the front of the standard, seems like. :confused3

We are planning for Dec 8-13, it doesn't appear to be too busy a time. Is the theming IN the rooms different from building to building? I know, I know, we are two adults, but we LOVE Disney! I read the notes about getting a room in the Might Ducks building and walking over to the bus stop as ASMu since it's closer, but we *want* to walk through the ASMo resort and see the icons. :thumbsup2 Aside from distance, Fantasia, 101 Dalmatians and Toy Story were my top 3 choices for buildings because of WHAT they are, not just where.

So I guess after the rambling the real question is, how bad of a walk can it be? We are two, able bodied adults who WILL spend from open to close a the parks and be beat when we return, but CAN walk, just would rather not walk TOO far. (and does anyone else find it funny that we walk the parks all day, but by the time you get back to the hotel the extra few feet seem to matter so much? ;))

We stayed at ASMo in June last year, I don't think any section is too far for healthy people. We stayed in a preferred room because we wanted to be in Dalmations section but the whole resort was nice except for the construction that was going on in the Toy Story section (I am sure it is done by now, though)

Actually it may be extremely busy at the resort then,... at least part of the time. Pop Warner is going to be ther for some of those days.

How does the ac work? Is it pre-set by Disney or can I adjust it? I hate at night when they are set to go off/higher when it doesn't detect movement.

I booked a room for my friend when I was a cast member during the CP a few years back. Apparently when we got there they sent us to a room in The Love Bug section. The key wasn't letting us in so we went back and it turns out the CM sent us to the wrong building. How screwed up is that? :lmao:

I mean it was REALLY the wrong building. The room my friend was assigned to was in the Toy Story area.

But the awesome part was the very room he got was the first floor room that was literally right next door to the main building! (the most wanted room in the entire resort I take it?) :thumbsup2 Funny cuz I dont even recall if I booked him a preferred room or not.

The only downside was the unusual sweaty laundry smell that was there the entire time (though we never found any left behind items)...it could've been my friend sweating (he's far from used to Florida humid weather) for all I know though.

We stayed at AsMo our first time at Disney in '08, and stayed in the Pongo 101 Dals building. We had a ground floor and it was less than a 5 minute walk to the main building. The room was a perfect location for our tired feet at the end of a long day and if we stay there again (I want to check out other resorts, but would have no hesitation in staying at AsMo again) we will request the same building.

We have done DW staying at ASmo 2 times the past 2 Decembers. First time we paid for Pref, Toy Story section. It was AWESOME! Our kids adore Toy Story and it was PERFECT! I thought to myself during that trip how close the Love Bug section was, you could see straight dow past the pool and it was there. So, 2nd time around we booked for that section (we always request ground flr) and got it. Well, not that we are out of shape or unhealthy, but we will always stick with pref. AS you said, the extra steps make a difference, But we always had a stroller with small children in. Also, we all caught head colds. Dec is just that time of year, and the extra cardio wasn't fun. Last thing, it was just a little too far to get refillable drinks with our refillable mugs. No, it didn't kill us, but when you are on vacation, you don't want a big walk at night time, before bed, for a cup of something to drink. This year we are book for Oct, pref rm, closest room they've got. Doesn't matter the theming, anything and everything would be great!
Before mentioned, Pop Warner could be there. They are a large group of teenagers there for competitions I believe. They were there our last trip (Dec 6th-12th). The only time I really saw them was early in the mornings in large groups, clustered together practicing their routines, or lined up together. They were very well behaved, and didn't distract or bother us at all.
I am sure you both will have a fabulous time!! :)
(my piece of advice, if you pay for pref and want to add requests, fax the resort a week before you are due to go...it has NEVER failed us. We've always got what we wanted... ASmo is awesome!!! ):woohoo:

Is there any of the big group stuff going on at ASMo right now? (cheerleaders, dance, etc.) I don't remember where I looked for this info before. I'm trying to decide between this and POP for next week. :goodvibes

I got put in Mighty Ducks in April and our room (aka the far corner) was REALLY close to the ASMu bus stop. It wasn't the end of the world. We did utilize both cafeteria's (would fill up our mugs at Music). Walking to the ASMo lobby would take maybe 5 minutes. I wanted Toy Story but it was allright, I wasn't in the room that often :)

we just got back on Sun and our AC is manual and auto adjustments. We had ours running all night. Hope that helps...

been awhile aince we stayed here, but we're coming back to DW soon and have narrowed down to either Pop or ASmo. We loved both when we've stayed, just trying to figure out which one would be best for us this go around.
Has ASmo been refurbed recently? Plus not sure if can happen again, but last go around we pais for a standard room, but they put us in the Toy Story Building? Granted it was facing the parking lot on the far back, not sure if that makes the difference, but I thought those buildings were considered perferred?? Anyway, building I guess doesn't really matter to me, just was curious...
DD is 12 now and DS is 8, we love POP, but with Toy Story 3 out, just thinking maybe I should go here instead..any thoughts??:)
