Disneyland Points

Member Services has the points. You just need to call them to find out. I'm not sure when they will put them on the website or publish them. Be prepared for a big increase from this year. I made a reservation for the Grand Californian in March 2005 and was very surprised.

Hey Julie, If you don't mind my asking, how much was the pts/day for the Grand California? Our family is also looking to book for March 2005. Thanks!

I reserved 2 nights in a standard room at the Grand Californian for June 2005. I booked a Thursday and a Friday. The price was the same: 39 points per night for a total of 78.

I double checked with the CM because those prices are way off from what's published in the 2004 book (29 Thurs, 52 Fri). She said, "Yup we're standardizing the rates next year."

I didn't ask anymore questions since I was just happy to spend 78 instead of 81 points.

Interesting. I wonder if it's just the GC rates that are being "standardized"...or all Disneyland hotels...or other hotels as well?

boscoj,

I don't mind at all. We're going for a couple days during spring break after visiting my parents a few hours away. So that time frame makes the points higher obviously. We're staying on a Wed and Thu night (the week after Easter) for 54 points a night, standard view, at the Grand Californian. Yikes! But for DH, a couple days not at the in-law's--priceless.

How does buying the room with points compare to buying with cash? If it works out to be more than $10-11 per point, it seems like it would be more advantageous to sell the points and then just purchase the room with cash.

I just checked the DVC website this morning and the Disneyland Resort points were there.

kraymer,

It seems many prefer that approach. We just figure it into our plan for our points and avoid additional hassles. On other threads about the 2005 Disneyland points, though, I think others mentioned that there are no good deals yet for cash rooms. I'm sure the cash price increased just like our point requirements. Hopefully there will be some good deals for people as the time approaches.

Does anyone know if these point costs, include early entry?

I have a co-worker, who recently booked the Grand Californian for mid June, and got a rate cheaper then what I had seen on the DisneyLand web page.
He told me that the rate did not include Early Entry.
This makes me wonder what type of early entry policy DL is going to have.
It used to be anyone staying in a resort hotel OR anyone with a special park pass (that indicated early entry) could get early entry. I remember buying park hopper passes, that had a certain number of early entry days.

I thought that we got free park passes to Disneyland/DCA if we stayed on points.
Did this perk go away?

I don't think there is any early entry anymore for DL and to get it for GC you have to go through AAA or some other type of agency. They don't include it anymore through the hotels, and I'm not sure why. But if you get to the park early, you can hit all the rides anyway.
