I called MS today to make a reservation for Disneyland Hotel for June. We're a family of five and I asked for a room with two beds and a daybed. The nice CM told me that they would have to give us a roll-away bed for the fifth person - there were no daybeds. I was sure I had read on these boards or DL boards that many rooms had 2 queens and a daybed. Anyone know? Could it be that MS is limited in knowing what is available and when we arrive we can ask for that?

I believe the DL Hotel does have daybeds. The other option is to change your reservation to the GCH and request a room with bunk beds. From the photos I have seen the bunk bed room looks like it has a trundle bed underneath the bottom bunk. That would make enough beds for a family of 5.

We will be staying in a bunk bed room in 2 weeks. I will let you know how many people the room will accomidate.

Thanks rsschneck! I'd appreciate it. We also tried today to make reservations for Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego through CC. MS told us that we'd have to have two rooms; maximum occupancy was 4. So I got off the phone with MS and called HDC and spoke with a very nice person in reservations. She said that many of their rooms were large enough for a roll-away and for an extra nightly charge, they could certainly fit five in a room. I called MS back and asked again. The CM was most helpful and put me on hold for a few minutes and when he came back on, he said they would put in a request for HDC specifying we'd need five in the room and if they granted it, then that would work. If not, then we wouldn't be out any points or fees. I certainly appreciate all the nice people who are helping to make our trip to California a great one! It'll be a really LONG drive from KY    so I'm hoping it'll be worth it when we arrive!

Okay, I just called the Grand Californian out of curiosity and I was correct. Their rooms with the bunk beds do have a trundle under the bottom bunk. So, there could be three beds for the kids and a bed for you and DH.

DD and I stayed at the DLH last month and had a room with 2 queen beds. We did not even have a sofa to make a day bed out of. I know I have heard that some of their rooms have day beds just not sure how many. The DLH was nice but my 8 year old DD requested we stay at the GCH on our next trip.

She and I both LOVED the close proximity of the GCH to the parks and DTD. It is the newest resort and with the decrease in points I think it is a good use of points. I have nothing bad to say about the DLH because it was nice too! We used the monorail a lot and the Neverland pool was nice. The koi ponds were beautiful!

I do have to say that the GCH has a kids club in case you and DH want a nice dinner alone. We are going to eat at Napa Rose one night and DD will be in Pinocchio's Workshop. The fee is $7 per hour and is only for guests staying at the GCH.

I will know more in couple of weeks after we have stayed at the GCH.

Grace - your stay in San Diego will be wonderful. The Hotel Del Coronado is a very special property. While there make sure you do the following four things:

1. San Diego Zoo The double decker bus tour is well worth it for an introduction to the zoo.
2. Wild Animal Park The Wgasa Bush Line Railway is a must for a first time visitor. And the Photo Caravan Safari Tours are wel...just do it.
3. Balboa Park is easily a full day of museums and exhibits.
4. Old Town Trolly Tour is fun and gives you a great overview of San Diego. A bit pricey if you only ride the loop, but if you use the on/off privileges well worth it.

Consider the Southern California CityPass or San Diego Passport for admission media.
