Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Ok, so the rest of our trip at Disneyland.

So after our nap on day 1, we all got ready to go back to Disneyland. The DSs couldn't just walk by the lego store to get to Disneyland, so DH took them in to look. Deal was that they could have a toy of choice (within cost limitations) at end of day 2 if they were good. We've found that if we let them get toys during trip, we have battles in each store after each ride which just gets too difficult. Since legos are the toy of choice these days, DSs went in to canvas out the good for tomorrow's shopping.

Meanwhile I went to take out at Tortilla Joes and got some tacos and a burrito for DH. And yes, I did eat one soft taco with chicken (which was quite yummy). Downtown Disney had gotten a lot more crowded while we were napping and when we got to Disneyland, we noticed the parks had gotten more crowded as well. But no worries, as I had more fast passes than I could use at this point. First stop was Buzz Lightyear (DS3 favorite ride) and then Fantasyland where we rode the carousel. After several attempts to remove the sword from the stone, DS5 figured out is was impossible and moved on. DS3 wanted to ride Dumbo again, but since we weren't willing to do any lines to ride a second time, we passed. Then off to New Orleans where we walked on Pirates again. Next we went to Indy and DH was going to try to get DS5 on the ride, since he's just about tall enough. But Max, who has been talking non stop about Indy for months, got scared and ran. So those fast passes were not used. At this point we went to see the fireworks. Got a pretty good spot to watch from, but only made it a few minutes through the show when DS3 Nico freaked out and started crying from the loud noises. So we ventured to Tomorrowland and were so tired, we all just decided to take the monorail back to the hotel. DH and I figured we did more than 25 attractions on Day 1 - which was pretty much a record for us with the kids.

I was doubtful that we were going to make it to the park for opening on Day 2, as we were SO tired. But DH was up at 6:30 - off to take a hot tub and get some coffee. I was up checking my work email before Mickey called to wake us up at 7am. DH came back shortly as hottub was closed until 9am :sad2: He had a latte in hand for me, which was just what I needed to get everyone packed up and ready. We had bags stored, sun lotion on and were ready to go to be at monorail by 8am. We didn't make the first monorail to the park (so no Nemo) but we did get to ride Monorail red, which was a nice treat.

An odd choice perhaps, but we decided to go on the Auto ride (now what is it called?) first. There actually weren't enough people in line for them to open so we had to wait for more to arrive to get on. My DSs do love that ride, though it felt more like bumper cars for the adult passengers as we rammed into that metal track again and again and again. Next I went on Space Mountain solo (fun!) and then to Star Tours with Max. He LOVES that ride, but it always makes me feel sick. But I recover quickly. DH did Buzz with Nico and then we were off to DCA for Toy Story Mania. We got there about 30 minutes before opening and they were letting people in the park. Line for Toy Story Mania was back to Soarin' almost and my DH wanted to skip it, but I was determined. Turns out there were only 100-200 people ahead of us and we all walked orderly together through the park led by CMs to Toy Story Mania. It took us probably 15 minutes to walk there as a group and then we were in line maybe 10 minutes. No big deal and kind of fun being escorted through the park.

I really like Toy Story Mania. My DH complained that it was more of a video game than a ride, which was true. But it was a fun video game! I definitely wanted to ride it a couple more times, but didn't want to wait in the line. My DS3 didn't like the 3D aspect of it and refused to shoot at anything. But he still enjoyed himself. I definitely give the ride a thumbs up :thumbsup2

After Toy Story, we were in Redwood park (fondly called Koda or is it Coda Park by my DS3). Both DSs love that park and would stay in there for hours. DH and Max then went on Soarin' and at this point we left for lunch at Jamba juice and Napoli (take out pizza) and then to the LEGO STORE! I had to go to the business center for a meeting at this point (got out of all my monday meetings but one), so DH entertained the kid building their new lego kits in the DLH lobby while I worked.

So we left about 3pm and Nico cried as we drove away. He didn't want to leave! I assured him that we would be back as his dear mother is a bit crazy and likes DL a bit too much and he has been there more times than any 3 year old who doesn't live in Southern California should have been.

Drive home was just awful, but we made it and here we are!

Other observations...I'm glad we tried DLH, but I wasn't crazy about it. Check in was so late, walk from the parks far, business center was closed when I need to use it, pool was crowded and dirty (with babe ruth "choco" bars no less!) and rooms just weren't all that. I guess it was worth it for $179, but I'd never pay upwards of $400 for it. I still like GCH the best! If only it weren't so darned expensive...

All and all a great trip. Now I just need to learn to write great trip reports like our dear divas Capri, Beth and Cristabel!

Ok, this week sucked! I don't know what it was about this week, but I did lousy. I'd start the day out well, with water and maybe some walking, but then I'd find a way to mess it up.

One day it was eating some (okay THREE!!) of the cupcakes I'd made for DH's work.
Another day it was when we went out to lunch and I ended up eating what my kids didn't finish. (old bad habit that rears it's ugly head now and then)
And today......ugh, I did great all day! Then I blew it tonight on movie theater popcorn and Taco Bell. :sad2:

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb!!!! :headache: So now here we are just two days before weigh in day and I am sitting here feeling ill from over eating. I need to figure out why.
Why is it some days are so easy and I can make good healthy choices and other days....it all goes downhill taking my will power with it???

I'm still shooting for my goal this week of losing 2 lbs.
I'm not going to give up and I realize what's done is done, time to move on. It's just frustrating, I'm so mad at myself, and I had to vent a little. Sorry. I'm over it.

Tomorrow is a new day and it will be a better one!!! :cheer2:

Jen, thanks for sharing the rest of your trip.

Sorry the Indy ride and fireworks didn't work out. But I'm glad you liked Toy Story! It is a cool ride.

I was interested to hear your take on DLH too. I've never stayed there, or any of the DL hotels for that matter, because of the expense. And I've heard some iffy reviews that make me think I'm not missing out on much, especially yours with the Babe Ruth bars!!! I will never be able to eat another one of those again. I guess I should thank you for that!! :rotfl2:

It seems a few of us have indulged this past week (I'm putting my name on the top of the list - and I haven't done any exercise other than walking the parks since Saturday, so I'm totally off my schedule :sad2: )

To get us back on track, I'm resurrecting an old quote for us to ponder...

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Time to get out of the water!

Except for drinking the water...continue to do that. :goodvibes

Hi grzbuzz

Love your pics! Those ones of Soarin' made me feel like i was right there on the ride!! :cool1: so cool.

MammaU4 NICE TO SEE YOU!!!

Morning all. My double for thursday got cancelled too! I am so excited! Going to work out tonight after my shift and before picking up the kids. I am still a bit sore from monday but I will get over it! I have done well this week and am hoping for a 2-3 lb loss on friday. Come on now everyone. You can do this! One choice at a time. If you make a decision to consiously think about each bite of food before it goes in your mouth, most times you will not eat it. It is when we just pop it in that we get in trouble. Good luck and get back on this here band wagon you all! We can dooo iiiit!

Sarah

You're just saying that cause I sent you some balls. :lmao: :lmao:

NO NO NO, that's not true! My hubby looked at our ladies trip pics long before you sent us those great eyeball balls, and we both were commenting on how pretty you are. Trust me Beth.....you're very attractive.

Don't feel too bad about having a horrible week. Like Jen said, I think a lot of us did a little cheating this week on our healthy eating. Heck, I've had pizza, a grilled cheese sandwich (although it was on whole wheat bread ;) ), gummy worms, peanuts, spaghetti, raisin bran with 2 percent milk, and way too much beer! (Whoops!) :rolleyes1

On the bright side, I've started excercising with my DDR. Now all I need to do is get back on the healthy eating wagon, combine it with lots of DDR, and hopefully I'll be on that road to a successful, healthy lifestyle.

You're already on that road......way ahead of me. Just go forward from today and don't look back on what's already been done. Healthy in is healthy out.:thumbsup2

I've got to get going. It's my cleaning day at my parents. Yippee, I can sweat while vacuuming again. :laundy:

YES!!! I agree, time to get out of the water. I hate that wrinkled prune look anyway. ;)

Thanks everyone for the comments. :grouphug:
I guess set backs are bound to happen, it's how you deal with them that counts. And today I am back on track and still shooting for at least a two pound loss!!!! :yay:

Oh, and let me say I payed for my over eating big time this morning. I woke up at 5:30 and felt so ill!!! Ugh, I seriously felt like I was going to lose it. Thank goodness I didn't, I hate getting sick. But that feeling alone was enough of a reminder NOT to over indulge like that again. :scared:

Have a good healthy day everyone!! We can do this!!! See......I've even got my water with me. See it? Right there. Next to me. :thumbsup2

grzbuzz - sounds like you had a great time! The pictures are great! You have a beautiful family!

Ok, so it is thursday...one more day until weigh in. I am hoping for a 2-3 lb loss but I have to admit I have been peeking at the scale and it looks like it will be more of a 1-2 lb loss. I have been working out this week - moderately - and eating my weight watchers points. I wonder if I need to increase my food intake a bit. Try eating some of my flex or excersize points as well as my target points. Maybe I will try that this coming week. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great day yesterday and are on the road to another great one today! Make sure you drink lots of water and keep your salt intake down, that should help with the scale tomorrow. My dh and I are having chicken wraps for dinner. Tortilla, lettace, grapes, parmasean cheese, chicken, and light ceasar dressing. Absolutely yummy!

Tomorrow's Friday!!!!

Sarah, those wraps sound really good! I love wraps. :thumbsup2

Hi Ladies. Ugh, it's been a crazy morning with work starting at 5:30am. Just now got a shower.

I've been feeling bad with a cold since I got back from DL and haven't been able to exercise. So bummed as I have my 10k the weekend after this, so I've got to bounce back quickly and hit the road.

Thanks all for your compliments on my photos. Appreciate it.

And now, for the

For any of you who tried those wraps, I hope you liked them as much as I did! Hit the spot on this really warm for washington state day. Weigh in is tomorrow morning. I think I did ok. I worked an extra 2 hours today which was fine. My mom picked up the kids from daycare which they love. Hope everyone has a great w/i tomorrow. Can't wait to hear all the great results! Then on with another great week! One step at a time! :yay:

HELLO!
I've been on vacation, ate bad and didn't get much exercise. Didn't bother weighing in on Saturday.

I have to complete two weeks of mileage (24 miles) in 3 days. Tonight I did 8.25 miles and I'm pooped! I might walk Osita tomorrow instead of the gym, she really needs to go out.

Lost another 2 lbs. I am on my way to my goal. I need another 9 lbs in the next 4 weeks. I have been steadily losing 2 lbs per week so if I just keep that up and get off one extra lb somewhere along the way I will be set. Tonight I am going to work out again and then I get to go to a choir rehersal. A friend of mine from a choir I was in years ago is getting married and having all her friends she's ever sung with make up a choir to sing at her wedding on saturday. I haven't sung in a while, but I think it will be a lot of fun and I am so happy that she has found someone. Anyway, singing burns calories, so that is good!:thumbsup2

Have a great day,
Sarah

P.S. You all thought you were going to get away with it, didn't you! Nope! Get those water bottles out...now tip all that healthy water into your mouths! Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!

Why do you need to complete two weeks of mileage in 3 days? :confused3 I'm afraid you might get injured if you do that, especially if you haven't been exercising in 2 weeks.

I missed exercising all this week, as I picked up some kind of bug during my quick DL trip. I'm just trying to get back to my daily schedule and actually did LESS than I usually do for my first run yesterday, as I need to get back into things. I don't want to hurt myself. I was just happy to be exercising again.

Watch out overdoing it or you might end up overwhelmed - physically and emotionally.

Glad your back! :thumbsup2

Good morning ladies!

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Way too much emotional energy and thinking is wasted because we keep reviewing past behaviors. The past is gone. Today is all we have. Don't squander time and energy thinking about what you should have done, could have done, what you did or might have done.

Today is a new day. Move on. The point of power is in the present.

By Michael Angier

So it looks like I'm down 8 sticks of butter, or 2 lbs. this week. I'm afraid that might not be a good thing, as it might have to do with the fact that I haven't done any weights this week and ran only once, so my body is a little off. Anyway, I'm feeling much better and did get out for a 45 minute run/walk yesterday and will try to get to the gym for weights today and am scheduled for a 1 and 1/2 hour run this weekend (ugh :headache: let's see if I make that!)

Congrats sabushka on your weight loss! :cool1: :yay:  :dance3:

UGH! I'm up 1 pound this week. I knew it was going to happen. I was just too busy all day and then overheated at night to get much exercise in. It's been near 100 all week. Excuses, excuses.
Well, at least another week begins today......................
