Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

It's late and I am finishing up a bag of Fritos.:sad2: Sooo....I should probably sign my boo-tay up! If that's ok...:flower3:

I was always on the petite side. Never skinny, but small. I am 5'1" and the most I weighed in high school was 115. When I turned 25, I had a long term relationship end and that is when I started gaining weight. I also had a job sitting at a desk ALL day. I don't think that helped. A year later, I met my husband. Before I got pregnant with Maddie, I weighed about 140-ish. I was overweight. Then after I had her, I weighed 214. That is the highest I have ever weighed in my life. I was pretty sick with preeclampsia and I know that is where a lot of the weight came from. I lost a lot of it with WW. I quit WW after losing about 57 lbs. I have since gained almost all of that back. I am almost at my heaviest. I weigh 200 lbs and boy does that hurt to admit. I have been off and on with WW. It works, but just like most programs, it takes effort to work. So, I am back on! Woohoo!:yay:

I go back to work on the 21st and I am sooo bummed that I didn't work out at all this summer, just some running here and there. I am not an emotional eater, or even an overeater. I am just lazy.

My WW goal is to lose about 70 lbs so I am at a healthy weight. But I would like to get down to 120 (personal goal). I will focus on 5 lbs at a time and go from there.

You all are doing awesome! I am really looking forward to this.:dance3:

edited to add...
here are some things I challenge myself to do this week:

Drink at least 4 bottles of water a day
Exercise (running or elliptical) 3x this week for 30 minutes
Stay within my daily WW point target

January....are you the January who went on the first Ladies only disneyworld trip? Anyway, we are so happy to have you on this thread with us! I am also doing WW though am not going to the meetings. I have had much success with WW in the past and know it works if we can just stick with it! It will be wonderful having you here with us! And I know you will meet your weekly goal. I always come on this site before work, while I eat my breakfast of a granola bar and a bottle of water. I try not to leave this site before drinking one full water bottle...it helps start the day on a good foot! Congrats for making the decision to join our thread! :cool1:

Hi, Sarah!! I am the same January! It is so nice to see you here. Congrats on your new baby girl! I was reading through the thread and saw the pictures you posted. She is beautiful! WW rocks, I just get lazy once the evening strolls around and stop keeping track. That is changing. I sticking to it this time. I will try to do what you are doing by drinking a bottle of water before I leave for work.

Remember this??! LOL

JANUARY: Welcome! :cheer2:

CHERYL: I'm so happy to hear that the test came out clear! And glad you're back! :grouphug:

And EVERYONE: Happy Monday!

Now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Assume that whatever situation you are facing at the moment is exactly the right situation you need to ultimately be successful. This situation has been sent to help you become better, to help you expand and grow.

January - WELCOME!:cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2:

Good Monday morning to everyone. I had a busy, busy, busy weekend, but it was a lot of fun. Friday, I had my niece and nephew over all day, which entailed lots of supervision, snacks, meals, chasing around after them,.....all the things you can think of with four crazy kids running around all day. On Saturday, I went to the Festival at Sandpoint with my friend Cathy, her daughter, and her daughter's boyfriend. It was a great time, and we got to see Wynnona Judd in concert. She puts on a terrific show and her voice sounds wonderful. By the time I got home, it was 1:00 am (which is LATE for me). Sunday I was really tired, but my niece and nephew were back over all day, and then we had a bbq that night.

Today I feel pretty good despite all the activity. I slept pretty good last night though (for a change), so maybe that's why I don't feel more tired.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great weekend.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!!!

My in-laws are visiting so I haven't had time to read back much, just skim, BUT I did see January here!!!!! HEY GIRL!!!! WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME!!!! :yay:

We did the dreaded B word today.......buffet!!!!:scared1: But I think I did ok. I mean as ok as you can do at a buffet. LOL And we walked a ton last night. Ruben and I stayed on the Strip while in-laws stayed here with the kiddos.

So hopefully things won't be too off this week.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hey. Have a good healthy week everyone!!!

Thanks for the welcomes, ladies!:flower3:

I ate pretty well today. I have had a hard time getting my water in, I am so addicted to Diet Coke! I am so addicted that by 11:00am I was beginning to get the withdrawal headache. So, I caved and had one...then two...:rolleyes1

My diet has been lacking fruits and veggies, so I decided to cut up some cantaloupe with dinner and made a green salad. Both were really good.

Every Monday night is family night, so I will use some of my allowance points on some Cold Stone (Fat Free Sweet Cream with strawberries).:cloud9:

I hope you all are having a good night! I will try to be back later!

That is so funny! That is the exact picture I was going to post if it really was you! It is great to be chatting with you again! How is your little girl? I think my son was about 1 1/2 when we went and I remember talking about children with you. Your daughter must be getting big...I know my ds is!

Sounds like everyone is making some good changes! Way to go! Now to get that water in....ok everyone...get that water bottle out and chug a lug!

Sarah

Good morning, Divas!;)

I should not have weighed myself two days in a row. The scale jumps around a lot for me...even in the same day. So, I am going to put the scale in the basement so I only weigh myself once a week. I get discouraged when the numbers jump up suddenly.

Sarah--Maddie is getting big! She will be 4 in a few months. I can't believe you already have another one...I need to get on the ball.

That ladies trip was so much fun! I hope that we can meet up again at another ladies trip. I can't believe that picture was almost two years ago. Time flies!

I know what you mean about the diet soda. I am the same way. It's better now but it was tough for awhile there. You'll do it. Slowly but surely, and then before you know it, water will be what you prefer. Do you add anything to your water?

I like to add some of that lemonade flavoring, then freeze it slightly just to the point that it's slushie. Yum.

NO!! Do not weight yourself too much. Pick one day, we weigh in here on Fridays as you know, and stick with it. Same time, same day, same clothing (or nekkid) etc.
I even make sure the scale is in the same spot in my bathroom. LOL

I think we need to get Sarah out to Disneyland with us in March!

Hey, B!
I sometimes add some Crystal Light packages or WW water mix-ins (when I was going to the meetings I could get em). That is an awesome idea about freezing them just a tad so they get slushy. I will try that! That might help with my ice cream cravings I get at night.

I hate weighing myself. My heart pounds, my palms sweat...you know. Crazy stuff. I can't believe I let myself get to this point. I am HUGE. Even my DH said I am gaining. He never says anything about my weight. It has been a non-issue for him...but for him to actually say something, I know that I need to make a change, not for him...for myself. I just feel awful that people notice. I like to think I am the only one who notices that my jeans are oh-so-tight. lol

I am glad that I am doing this. It is a good feeling to know that I am doing something to improve my life.:goodvibes

We definitely need to put the bug in Sarah's ear about the trip! It would be fun!

Hi Ladies!

It's DH's bday today, so I've made him a cake and tried to keep the frosting tasting to a minimum. :rolleyes1 Also will try to get to the gym to work with weights. And then I'll only have like one more run until the 10k this Sunday

And here's a QUOTE OF THE DAY to chew on:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most...We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I also love that slushie idea! I am going to have to try that! My fav thing at Disneyland is the lemonslushies they have when it is warm!

I can't believe Maddie is going to be 4! That is just amazing. And yeah, when is the next one on the horizon for you? I like having 2 even though it is a lot of work. And I can't believe I was lucky enough to have a little prince and a princess...picture Captain Hook and Tinkerbell for Halloween!

As far as the Ladies trip in march...well, you never know. I can't commit to anything at this time, but you just never know what will happen when disney is concerned! ;)

I had a double at work yesterday so I am still recovering. An early bed time for me tonight!

Have a great night ladies and if you feel the need to snack...take Beth's advice and brush your teeth and rinse with mouthwash...it really helps kill that craving.

 When I saw you back in June, you were still as pretty as ever. You've always been so photogenic! Tammy and I both agreed on that when we met you in WDW. But I'm glad you are doing this so you can feel good about yourself.
That's why I wanted to do it too. I was tired of hating the way I looked and worse, the way I felt.

I know that quote! They use it in the Coach Carter movie. LOL It's a good one.

Hope your DH had a good birthday! :cake: :bday:

You are working so hard that by then you are so going to deserve a vacation. And you already know and have met at least two of us, plus the ones you are getting to know on this thread.
The three of us can share a room and keep costs way down. :dance3: :rolleyes1

Did 5.5 miles today at the gym, mostly the bike so I only burned 300 calories but I did only consume 1420 calories. YAY me!:goodvibes

I also got my new phone today and I am really excited because it has a music player! That way I have something to listen to at the gym!:cool1:

I also agree about how pretty you are! I would say the prettiest on our dw trip!

Sharing a room with the 2 of you would be sooooo cool! That might make it doable for me....hmmmm. What thread should I look for to find the details? Now you have me thinking and when it comes to dl that usually means a trip! Agggkk....now I am so excited about the possibility I can hardly stand it!

Now the 3 of us have to really get on the ball....it would make sharing those beds a little easier...or are we staying somewhere with a day bed possibility...oh now listen to me...I am starting to ramble.

Drink the water ladies...it also helps make sure when you are eating, you are eating because of hunger and not of thirst. When your body needs liquid sometimes it can feel like hunger and we don't want to be eating if all our body is wanting really is water.

I worked out at the gym at work last night...only 150 calories burned, but hey, one calorie at a time I will be losing this weight, so every little bit helps!

Sarah

That would be great if you could come Sarah.
Here is the link to the chat thread...a lot of info is on the first page. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1830448

You are so right on about water and thirst. I catch myself looking in the cupboards or fridge wanting something to eat when I am not hungry..just thirsty.:)

I am all about you sharing a room with us! It would be fun! :yay:

Not only did I fall off the bandwagon, I think I jumped, ran, and hid in a ditch from it. I'm ready to get back on though...I think.... I really want to get healthy, but I'm having a really hard time lately! I think I need to start with smaller steps instead of leaping and bounding.

Yay for January joining us!!!

Here's my quote from the past two weeks:

By the way--how is your Dad?
