Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Thanks sweetie. :)

I have a feeling I might have to take it down again tomorrow. I'm dying for some subway or quiznos right now. All those carbs sure won't look good on me. :(
When is your weigh in day? Whatever you do, DO NOT weigh yourself every day. You will only make yourself nuts!! Your weight fluctuates too much to do that.

If you are craving one of those, get the Subway. I think they are a little bit healthier. And just get the 6 inch Veggie Delite. It's under 300 calories and you'll be getting lots of vegetables. Just make sure you don't add cheese or heavy dressing to it. (I like the honey mustard) And use one of the lower cal breads. :thumbsup2
Oh, and no chips. Use baby carrots if you need a crunch to go along with it.

6 bags of potatoes?? Are you sure?? Damn! That's crazy.

Good for you on the running!!!!! I just know you are going to do GREAT in your 10k. Heck just attempting it is impressive. Your an inspiration to us all. :cheer2:

Yep, according to my weight watchers planner - 1 sack of potatoes equals 5 lbs.

Or you could say you've lost 24 medium size cantelopes.

Or 3 gallons of milk, plus a sack of potatoes.

The scale just does not do justice to our accomplishments!!

I've reached 500 posts and officially have gone insane.

OK...so it's a lazy Saturday and my kids and I are watching You Tube videos of Disneyland rides and my DH says "let's go." And I'm stunned saying nothing. I have meetings on Monday, dog needs to be kenneled, no reservations and it's height of summer crowds. Anyhow, within a couple hours I've found a place to kennel the dog, got an AP rate for Sunday night at DLH and packed up the bags. So, we're leaving. Insanity. But what the heck? But don't know where we are going to stay tonite.

Hopefully, it will be a fun trip. Never done any DL trip this last minute before. I'm feeling like Beth and the DL meet last March.

All bets for healthy eating for the next two days are off.

Wish me luck :wizard:

Wow that is so amazing! I wish I could do something like that! But everytime I work an over time shift I DO think that I am doing this so I can go to dl and dw and then it is not so bad! Have a great time! And if you are not going to be thinking about healthy eating try to focus on walking as much as possible (like that is going to be hard!) and maybe share items you would have had just to yourself before...there fore you would still get to enjoy them but you wouldn't have quite so many calories!

Have a great time and drink your water!

Sarah

P.S. I did pretty well yesterday...my family came over and we BBQ'd. I had one hot dog with bun, one deviled egg and a couple of pieces of squeekey cheese. I had 2 cupcakes my mom had made, but I just used my flex points for them and it worked out. I didn't get in all the water I should have though so that is my focus for today!

Wow!! That's awesome!!!!! Have fun! Can't wait to hear all about it. And when I'm on vacation all bets are off for me too. :rotfl2:

Hi From Disneyland!

The gang is sleeping and I'm typing quietly from our room at DLH (standard AP7 rate in Magic Tower). So we left about 4pm yesterday, took our dear dog to a kennel (but I got her a luxury cage, whatever that is, so hopefully she's OK) and we threw some stuff in the car and hit the road in our hybrid so as to save on gas. Got to Anaheim area about 11:30pm and stayed in a Marriott in Fullerton (all Marriots in Anaheim were booked) where I could use my Marriott bucks for a free stay. Got a wake up call at 5:30am to get ready and leave for DLH to check in and made early entry at 7am. Wow!

And this morning at DL was great! Got a free stroller right off the bat with the Disney VISA. Then off to Peter Pan where there was a five minute wait. Walk on to Dumbo. Walk on to Toad's. DS3 didn't want to do Pinnochio, so we walked on to the Carousel where I rode the special horse dedicated to Julie Andrews. Then walk on to Alice in Wonderland. I waited for about 5 minutes for Matterhorn (did that by myself) while kids did tea cups and Alice in Wonderland again. Then walk on Buzz (two times) and DS5 did Star tours. Next breakfast in Tomorrowland and over to Pirates for a walk on, then Haunted Mansion walk on, a five minute wait for Pooh. Then a stop into the store for a tigger tail and rice crispy treat (i had a bite here and there, but didn't get anything). Then a ride over to the Pirates Tom Sawyer island for run around time for the boys (which they loved). Next Tiki room where I did get a dole whip (yum!). From here we headed to DCA for Monters Inc (5 minute wait), the Muppet Show, a few rides in Bug's land (all walk on). Was going to get the Tinkerbell drink, but got a frozen apple juice instead. And we walked over (not on) to Toy Story Mania, but didn't go on as the wait was 40 minutes. At this point (about 1:30 or 2pm), with fast passes in hand for Buzz (two sets), Splash, Indy and Soarin', we decided to go back to the hotel for a swim and a rest. Of course, took until almost 4pm for room to get ready and our swim was cut short due to a Baby Ruth hunt in the pool :scared1: . But we enjoyed lunch at Croc Bites (I think that's what it's called) and a quick tour of the VGC model while we waited for room. Now the gang is all sleeping (as I should be, but my adrenaline is still keeping me up) and we'll go back out for a few more hours this evening.

It's been a super fun trip. Not a lot of people here. Weather was great this am, but got a little warm in the afternoon (certainly not by Vegas standards, but in high 80s). Plans are to use some of those fast passes tonight and then start the day with Toy Story Mania tomorrow. It's been a whirlwind trip, but so far, oh so fun. And the boys are hanging in there!

I've walked a ton, tried to drink enough water and I'm starving (so I must not be eating enough). Hopefully, won't do any gaining while I'm here, but I'm not worrying about it. It's just a day and a half.

DH scores big this weekend! I have some phone pics, but unfortunately, my camera battery died almost immediately when we got here. I packed in like 1/2 hour, so I'm afraid I didn't have everything in order.

More later...

Just looked over my post. Guess that should be a trip report of sorts. Oh well, sorry for posting on wrong board and ignore all details you don't want to read. :upsidedow

Hi Jen! Thanks for checking in. I love hearing all the details. Sounds like you are having lots of fun. And you're being so good!! I'd have already of eaten a corn dog, a funnel cake, etc. :lmao:

I love reading about your last minute trip to DL! Please, post more about the fun you had at DL/DCA! (And of course let us know what you ate, healthy or otherwise.):thumbsup2

Speaking of fun stuff, I entered this contest a few weeks ago for free tickets for a family to Silverwood Theme Park/Boulder Beach Water Park, which is located not far from Coeur d' Alene Idaho (about a 45 minute drive from where we live in Spokane/Mead), and this morning I logged into my email and found out WE WON!!!!! :yay:  :yay:

That's $150 worth of tickets for our family! I'm so excited, especially since it's been a terrible spring and summer for real estate appraising, so we haven't had much money coming in. I feel blessed to be so fortunate to have won something really great that otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford.:wizard:

Yay, I ordered a slightly used Dance Dance Revolution Super Nova game and dance mat on Ebay last week. It was just delivered (it looks brand new) and I played it for about 30 minutes so far......oh my gosh, that's so much fun, and GREAT EXERCISE! It definitely got me sweating.:cool1:

And, I only paid $25 for it. :thumbsup2

Good for you!!! Keep it up girl, you'll be dropping those pounds in no time. :cheer2:

Just a quick check in. Worked a double on sunday and then yesterday after work I worked out for 25 minutes and then met my family at the Northwest Washington Fair for 3 1/2 hours. I was very good. Chose a gyro for dinner with a lemonade and my husband bought the icecream that I don't like so I didn't have any of that, just a couple likes of ds3's soft serve. Lots of walking. Hopefully no double today but I have another double on thursday.

Have a great day and drink your water!

Sarah

Hi Ladies!

Quote girl is back. Exhausted from our whirlwind trip to DL, but alive and well. More details on our trip later, but for now...

THE QUOTE OF THE DAY
Nothing is impossible to a willing heart.
-John Heywood

Looks like I'm a couple lbs up from my Friday weigh in, but hopefully I can shed some of that by Friday. DL food is BAD for healthy eating. I did have a Jamba Juice one day and I think that had some nourishment.

I'm absolutely exhausted, so it will be challenging to get in my weights and run today.

But still it was worth it. We had a great time and there was something so fun about doing something unanticipated and unplanned.

We used Disney rewards, Marriott rewards, already purchased APs, DVC discounts, got AP7 rates, drove our hybrid and didn't have any table service menus, so I think I did the trip about as cheap as I could. Still cost us about $400-$500 out of pocket but that's not bad for Disney.

I'm feeling a bit of a cold coming on (can I ever go to DL without getting sick?) but hopefully can shake this quickly.

I'll find some pictures and share more details later.

-Jen

Sarah, good luck with those doubles. I don't know how you do it!!

Jen, welcome back. Don't worry about any weight gain. When we went on vacation in June I gained 8 pounds!!! I was freaking out, but I got back on track immediately and lost it all within one week, so that wasn't too bad at all.

Have a good day everyone!!! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Jen - I'm looking forward to hear about the rest of your trip! :thumbsup2 Try and get a little rest if you can.

I did Dance Dance Revolution today for about 45 minutes (beginner level). It's a fun way to exercise. I really like it a lot. I'm going to have to bump it up a notch to really get my heart rate up. It definitely works the calf muscles......my calf muscles were a little sore today from doing DDR for about 30 minutes yesterday.:goodvibes

Still drinking my iced tea. I just can't get myself to drink ice water as much as I should, but I seem to consume large quantities of iced tea with no problem.

I have fallen off the wagon (on Thursday) and waved it goodbye! I was on vacation. I'll be starting up again tomorrow!
