Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

You do know that you cannot get into 2 different Parks in one day unless you have Park Hoppers, right?
Yup...we changed our plans around so we wouldn't be doing any parks at all on the 11th so we'd just go do the program and then head out to do our other plans for the day.(we are planning to visit family that day in Clearwater):goodvibes
Thank you for the info. though I do appreciate it!:cutie:
We are rope drop commando for the 1st 2 hours in the park type people and spending all day at EPCOT on a EMH day won't work for us-LOL!

One more question..if we sign up for a class and other dates open up do you think we can switch to them? I called and asked about Oct. 10th being listed 2 weeks ago and it not being on there now and she told me it was probably a typo that she had her schedule in front of her and that there were not going to be be any classes that day but I see that a PP posted that the 10th may be for homeschool days which we could do since my son will be homeschooled beginning in Sept.

We will also be at Epcot on Oct 11 and this will be our 2nd TGM trip. We are actually extending our trip by one day since the Oct 10 classes were dropped. Epcot is EMH for the evening so I'm hoping it won't be too bad in the morning. Our thrill riders are the ones taking the class which leaves the little ones and other adults to do filler stuff and collect FPs while the boys are in class. We are also driving home this day so our plan will be....RD-Class-Lunch-Use FPs-Leave...fingers crossed that it will be pleasant. Because the program ticket prices are so great, we went ahead and got the hopper option this time, never would have before because of normal price and itinerary.

ETA: I was going to suggest a 4 day hopper for your group, but it's actually cheaper to do a 5 day standard ticket and then just burn the class day. If you did need the 11th to be a park day, it looks like Epcot is the ONLY place to avoid, lol. Oh, well, I know my kids are going to be so excited to do the class, it will be worth it!

I do not think you can change the class dates once your have registered. Obviously something I would want to hear "straight-from-the-horse's-mouth" if it were my question. I was on the phone with the YES office 3 times in one day, plus other days and emails, everyone has been super nice and helpful.

I was trying to decide between the 5 days and the 4 day park hopper but the 5 day cost less(I know it's not by much) adn we wanted to spend one full day in each park, but our budget is super tight this trip(more than usual!!!) We were hoping to save money since we are driving but now it looks like we won't be saving any money by the time the trip rolls around if gas prices keep going up. We could book flight fro $84 pp right now out of our local airport but we really want to drive this trip to see the autumn foliage through the mountains :cutie:

All of the sudden Oct 25 reappears but its full? How? It wasn't there, and then when it was, poof full

I have a feeling that Oct 25th really is full. I think they saw it was full and just pulled it down to avoid getting more registrations but now have closed it and have it listed just for the sake of showing the class exists. I work on a web based class program at work and its how I would have done it had it been a class that filled. I have registered my daughter and her best friend for that class. We are 2 families traveling together and super excited about the trip. I have seen at least 4 other kids on this board alone that are going. I am so glad I jumped right on it.
I think if you see a class you could take even if its not a first choice you should jump on it right away. This Disney Secret Gem is becoming more well known and more and more people are joining.

okay I am confused, everyone keeps saying they can not get there tickets mailed to them, I just ordered mine 4/15 for June and paid 10.00 to have my tickets shipped to me, I called on Monday 4/18 and confirmed my order and they said i should have my tickets in 2 to 3 weeks

I wouldn't be surprised if it were full. I have 3 kids signed up for it and someone I met here on the boards has 3 kids signed up for it as well. And that's only 2 families!

Between your 3 the other 3 and and my 2 we are at 8 just on this board. How old are your kids. I have 2 9 year old girls going with their dads.

I have 3 girls, 12, 11 and will be 7. Then the other family has 3 boys, 13 and twin 10 year olds. We are all pretty excited about it!

I have 2 boys signed up for Oct. 25. They are 9 and 7.

Ok, so between 4 families from the boards alone we have a total of 10 kids for one class! Wow! :lmao:

Hey - thats' me!:wave2:

So on this thread alone we can account for 10 students.
I wonder if that's the maximum allowed?
It looks like the whole class (including participating adults) needs to fit on a Safari vehicle.

Does anyone know how you sign up kids who already have AP's and won't need a park ticket? I took two of our boys in March and we knew we were all going back in October but we have 8 kids and just read about the YES program today and wondered if you could sign them up if they have an AP?

So two of my boys and I have AP's and the rest of our family still need park tickets. Hope this makes sense. Only 5 of our kids can take the class.

And here she is! :rotfl:

Hmm, that really makes sense then that the class is full with only 10 students.

How does this work with chaperones and parents. If I sign my 3 kids up would DH and I be able to go with them?

I just wanted to say thanks to this thread!! I just signed my son up for the Animation class on July 27. He is super excited and we saved almost $400 on park tickets on my family of 4, plus now we have park hoppers because we were not originally getting them. Since DHS closes early that day, we may decide to hop to another park when it closes. Thanks!

Yes, one parent per child may attend. At least one parent must go with. Both you and your husband could go :goodvibes

If my dh takes my 2 kids(to the same class) should I just ride the monorail around for awhile with my younger ds and then just enter the park as soon as it opens?

Below is an email exchange I had with the YES office regarding the Oct 10th class....my original is at the bottom of the thread

Hi DeAnn,

Thank you for your email! You are correct that the classes for October 10, 2011 are not available for registration at this time. Those classes are part of our Home School Days event in early October. We will not be opening that site for registration until about 4 months prior to the event. With that in mind, we will add you to our email list to receive updates on when the Home School Days site is accepting registrations.

Have a Magical Day!

I have not received a reply to my question regarding the YES classes for Oct 10. However, they are now no longer listed in the class catalog. I am very disappointed as well as a little embarrassed because I have initiated and planned a trip for 12 people around our children being able to take a class on the 10th. I hope that somehow we can all rearrange our plans to possibly take a class on the 11th.

Best regards,

DeAnn

It looks like registration has opened for the October individual
enrollment classes, but the October 10th classes do not show up. Will
there still be classes offered on the 10th?

Thank you.

When I called them the other day they said there would be nothing on Oct. 10th. However when I emailed them this is the response I got yesterday!

"Hi Tracey,

Thank you for your email! All of the programs for early October have been removed from the Individual Enrollment site, because they are actually a part of our Homeschool Days program. Once our Homeschool Days program is open to receiving registrations we will have these programs added back to the site.

Please note, that you do not have to be a home school family to participate in Homeschool Days. I have attached the flier for the program to this email.

If you have additional questions please let us know!

Now I really don't know what to do as my older ds will be homeschooling beginning in Sept. Not sure if I should hold out for the 10th or not???:confused3 What's interesting to me is that the person who emailed me back said you don't have to homeschooled to participate and when I open up the flier that was attached it only shows Oct. 3rd as homeschool days!
