Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

I've been checking the DCL website often to see if there are rooms in our category on the other side of the ship (we think we want the other side). I noticed there are now IGT/OGT/VGT rates out. Looks like they're trying to fill our ship! Some people out there are going to get a really good deal!

I wonder if the fact that it's RIGHT after school starts, and the whole disembarking in a different place than embarking made this one not sell well? hmm.... More boat for us! ;)

I wondered that. But we've been to Disney in September and it's been packed, so who knows. We're in the boat of awful parents - Ryan starts Kindergarten on August 1st and we're taking him out for a week! :rotfl2: In our defense, we had no idea what "track" he would be on.

Here's hoping for a quiet cruise!

If they are trying to fill up the ship., and unsuccessful, then mayhap there will be a low cost for an upgrade at the port. At least that's what I'm hoping for!

So I just realized I haven't posted here since back in March. I have been following along, but just as a reminder, I will be traveling with my DH(47) and my parents. We are doing the B2B to LA as well. We have three kids DD(22), DS(20) and DS(17). This will be my first cruise as platinum but our first to Alaska. We are excited to be crossing off one of our "bucket list" to-do's! We are big into the great outdoors, actually getting ready for a two week camping trip to the Grand Tetons/Yellowstone. So Alaska is right up our alley!

So not bad parents! Try, parents who are offering real world experience and multi-cultural integration! Haha! ;)

If anyone has kids 15-17 who would like to write to another kid on the cruise (aged 16), please DM me.

Has anybody had any experience with the anti-nausea wrist bands? I was thinking of getting some. This is my first cruise, so I don't know how I will react to being on a boat. The doctor gave me a prescription for the Dramamine patch which should help. I just really don't want to be sick on my vacation. :crazy2: :)

Everyone's mileage can vary, but both my father and I have serious problems with motion sickness, and neither one of us took any medication or got sick at all on our cruise last year.

So today I got my fish extender in the mail, and my excitement has officially been kicked up to the next level! I love my FE so much I'm going to put up a plug to put over the woman who made it, in case anyone is still waiting on ordering a FE.

The FE nly took two weeks, and it looks even better than I expected. :cool1:

Mama2Jax.. so glad you decided to do FE!

We are all getting really excited. I need to start thinking pirate stuff.

For those that asked, my daughter Macy loves all things Disney, especially any of the dogs or fairies. (funny combo I know) She is into reading and writing and saving the planet : )

Our fav characters are:

Greg- Goofy
Lesa- Alice
Macy- Pluto or Fawn

*but we really, we love 'em all!

Hello Disney Cruisers!

My DH and I will be joining you on Sep 3rd. This is my second cruise (Maiden Voyage Nov 3, 2011 Mexican Riviera with my daughter). She organized the FE on that cruise. Even though only about 10 families participated, it turned out great! I'm looking forward to the FE.

Can't wait to meet you all!

So I just realized I haven't posted here since back in March. I was on a cruise in Feb that was SO much fun with the DIS meet group, and I'm just having a hard time thinking any meet can be as good. Prove me wrong!!

Welcome back to the board fellow Coloradan! I think we were on the same cruise in May to the Bahamas! I can't wait to see Alaska!

My husband gets wicked motion sickness - can't even sit in the passenger seat of a car if there a lot of turns. He used the Scop (?) patch in May. He had zero issues with motion sickness, but we had super calm waters. He did have a side effect of everything being super bright. He was blinded outside if he didn't have his sunglasses. :cool2:

I'm a little concerned because I keep reading the first at sea day is rough. :crazy2: I was thinking of taking a Dramamine at bedtime on the first night. People on these boards say if you take it at night, you're not bothered by drowsiness. So I thought I might play with it on land first to make sure it doesn't floor me. I just hope our 5 year old doesn't have any problems. I don't know what's safe for a kid...

Welcome aboard! I just love that we're getting more people! :cool1:

Hello everyone! New to posting but have been a long time lurker. My husband and I will be joining you on this cruise and we can't wait! Thanks for all the great information.

Hi all! I had our TA switch our room to the starboard side (because I'm insane and over-planning :rotfl:), so I checked the DCL website to make sure all our excursions and such were still there. I noticed there is now a "Pirate Deck Party" showing up on the Juneau day at 9:45pm. So I guess now we know for sure what day it is! pirate:

Jenf22 - They used to make a Dramamine for kids, you may want to check at a local pharmacy. If you pack it, you will likely never need it : )

*I just picked up the Jr version at Toys R Us this afternoon, ages 2 - 12

Thanks, I'll look. That's my plan - I'm bringing tissues, cold medicine, and children's Tylenol. That way we all stay healthy! :)

Question about the FE... If people end up with an upgrade at the port or for some other reason change rooms, how will the FE group know?
