Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Without doubt! If you're at the port early (we plan to be there around 10 a.m.), just look for a curly brown-and-grey haired woman in a mobility scooter, accompanied by two active seniors, an Asian gentleman (Mr. Mellers), and a multiracial teenager (Mellerskidlet). We're easy to spot. If Mr. Mellers is not folding origami at that moment, wait 5 minutes. It's a constant habit.

Yay!:cool1:

My DD (28) and I will be sailing along with you too! She lives in Tacoma while I live in Wisconsin so it will be quite a trip for me with days in Tacoma around the cruise. I haven't seen her since December so am excited about that as well as the cruise.

We're still deciding if we'll be participating in the FE. This is our second DCL cruise and didn't participate the first time. It sounds fun!

How many familes/kids are currently signed up for the FE? That might helps us decide.

Looking forward to cruising with you. It can't come soon enough!

Hello! I was back and forth about the FE, too, since this is our first cruise, but now I am so excited to be doing it, and have some great ideas! I am going to be a crafting fool!! Haha! Right now there are 31 families, I believe? But only a few children! This must be a more adult cruise, maybe because of school? Anyway... I say go for it! :)

Wow, I hope that's a typo! Are there really 31 families? I thought we were just barely on 2 pages...

Haha! It felt wrong to type, too! There are 31 adults other than me and DH! Only 16 families total, i think. Sorry! I was counting adults last night while planning and had that number stuck in my head ;) so far there are only 5 kids, and one stuffed one! :)

:rotfl: Whew! That's a much better number!!! We could use some more kids though! What do we get the stuffed one? :rotfl2:

HELLO AND FELLOW GREETINGS UKIEDUKIE(FROM BACHELOR AND BOBBYSOXERS)AND OLD CARY GRANT MOVIE. Wow, the FE is starting to really grow.....I have to use this new little smiley, just for my husband:firefight:firefight:firefight. I ordered him a few little firefighting disney products for our fe bag. He has been so great about it all. I told him i thought the group might get to large for me to deal with and he was just so great. He said everyone is just trying to have fun., He said I had plenty of fe gifts and helped me organize them. All along i thought he didnt want us to participate. Every night, we read the dispage and all your comments and we feel we are getting to know some of you. We have been so busy working on our house. It is 104 years old and we had it moved from a nearby town to put it out here in the country(LINGLEVILLE, TEXAS). They had to cut it in 3 peices to move it and so we have been doing repairs and remodel for toooo many years. We have been doing all the construction ourselves. My husband is the brains (haha) and I am the slave labor:artist:I paint and tape and bed and whatever is required and i have the bumps and bruises to prove it. He has taught me how to use all his fancy tools. Dont care for the SawZaw. Anyway, we are hoping to finish it this year. This has gotten too lengthy:hourglass. tell you about our little family another time. We are counting down the days.......Til Cruise Time.

Welcome!

It is nice to see new people in our cruise. I think you should join the FE. It is so much fun. Right now the list is mostly adults with about 5 children. The cut off day is approching so if you are interested contact my daughter (Hollywood Glitter).

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick update. I will be sending out an updated FE list later today. As of now there is only one room change.

In regards to room upgrades at the port, Mellers gave me some great ideas. Before the cruise starts I will post a picture of my parents so you know what they look like. Just notify them at the port or the meet up of any room changes. You can also contact them or leave a message on their wavephone once on board. Please get in touch with them before 8pm on the first day. That evening they will leave an updated list at everyone's door, so make sure your fish extenders are hanging and ready.

You can still join. The cut off date is Aug 1st. Just send me your info and I'll add you to the list.

please email (hollywood.glitter@aol.com) me ...

We will be doing this cruise B2B with the 6 night Vancouver to LA cruise as well, just finish booking woohoo. Just had our first every cruise with Disney this Sept when we did the west bound transatlantic from Barcelona
Tracy & Mike from Scotland

devastating call I have made to DCL on the back of Disboard chat. Don't know when DCL were going to advise us after fully paid up flights & cruises along with a hotel in Seattle, hotel & flights non refundable, we need to choose a cruise to cancel because of that daft Govt Law.

What do we do? It was such a fab cruise to do, great price but now all blown to pieces, Fine if you live in the States but because we have so far to travel it is a nightmare for us to sort. What do you suggest?

What I don't understand is why this whole b2b is a big deal. This is not the first cruise DCL has or other cruise lines have done that fall under those guidelines.

Let's not go back and forth on this again. My recommendation is to contact DCL if any of you have any questions about your B2B cruises.

I'm sorry if this all sound mean but I am so tired of the speculation especially when this is the 2nd cruise this year that will be affected. Let's look at what happened during the last cruise and the two cruises for last year.

LOL ... Thanks for letting me vent!

hello this is straight from DCL you can't do both cruises you have to choose one and cancel the other, there is no debate :furious:

So sorry about that! Do you know which one you're picking? This is a such a weird law. Someone at work told me it had to do with the crew - if you have a foreign crew, you have to make a foreign stop. Bizarre. I'm really sorry you have to re-do all your plans. Especially being out of the country. I can imagine what a nightmare it would be to replan everything (if you even can with things being non-refundable!) Best of luck to you.

I would call DCL back. They are notorious for giving out conflicting info. I just spoke with them and they said there is no problem with the B2B. Also if you do call back mention the May cruises and ask why they didn't have these problems with their B2B cruises.

No need to be furious .. Like I mentioned earlier I was just venting. Anyways I would call DCL back. They are notorious for giving out conflicting info. Well I am furious, once I get the email I will post and share :furious:

Please do because they have b2b cruises for next year with the same situation. I would like to know why they are still booking those if they are going to have problems with this one and the may one they were able to work out.

Thanks

I'm sorry :( i thought after everyone on the main board beat this to death they finally figure out they could do it if they get off, go through customs, and get a different stateroom. Sorry dcl is still sounding like they can't get their act together about this!

I think if you do have to pick, I would pick the Alaska one to keep. Just MHO. :)

I agree! They say Alaska is so nice and it's one of those places where you could just spend all day looking at the scenery:thumbsup2
