Have you ever cruised from Seattle before? Sounds like your family loves to cruise?

Emphasis on Starbucks. I read that starbucks was born in Seattle, Is that true to your knowledge? I so hope that the airport has one, so me and my family can get our picture there. We are a gluton for punishment.... coffee feind..

Nope! We have never cruised before! Haha! but I have a feeling we will be hooked! We take DS down to the pier though on Mondays to watch the Wonder sail away! He loves it, and waves and claps!

Seattle is birthplace of Starbucks! The alleged (though technically not true) first one is at Pike Place Market! And don't worry, you will never, ever find yourself anywhere in Seattle without coffee close by! You should try some local coffee places too!

Thank you for the smiley face! I felt silly after posting that. I just wish people could be nicer to each other. I'm not even referring to threads I post on, just ones I read.

PEACH MILKSHAKE MADE FROM SUGARFREE BLUEBELL HOMEMADE VANILLA AND ALITTLE ICE AND SWEETNLOW. THAT OUGHT TO BETTER THAN 1 MILLION CALORIE PIES.. I STILL HAVE TWO LARGE GROCERY BAGS FULL. I WILL FREEZE SOME AND LET JIMS MOM MAKE JELLY OR JAM WITH THE REST. THATS ALL TILL NEXT YEAR.

How to find a Starbucks in Seattle proper, Bellevue, or environs:

Walk 10 feet in any direction. Seriously. I live next to a mall, and there are 2 Starbucks and a Seattle's Best--in the same mall! Within a half-mile of my house there are 5 Starbucks I can think of off the top of my head.

How to find the FIRST Starbucks in Seattle (supposedly):

It's near Pike Place Market

Unfortunately, however, there is no Starbucks at the airport.

Hey, I just saw that you are from Colorado...Are you guys close to the fire? I hope not..Just hope you will be safe.

I have been worrying so for all the people and poor defenseless little animals.
I have family near colorado springs..

My husband is a volunteer fire fighter. As of late, it has been pretty much full time. fire works and welding and people burning trash and brush piles, they tend to get out of control.
Last October we went on a cruise and he wore the shirts with the fire fighting logo. We met so many firemen, it was unbelievable. Most of them wearing their shirts too. You guys have a Happy Day tomorrow too,,,,,

No, we're not near the fires. We're in Aurora. The ones in Boulder and the Springs are the closest and still at least 40(?) miles away. It has been smoky some, but not too bad. They were forecasting rain for later this week, so I really hope that stays. It's been over 100 here for several days, so rain would be great!

We lived in Seattle for 2.5 years and I remember Starbucks EVERYWHERE. I don't imagine you'll have too much trouble finding one!

We have Palisade Peaches here (though not yet) and I go crazy with peach jam and peach cobbler. I love peach cobbler! I've never had a fried pie before. Too bad they won't let you bring homemade goods on the ship.

Ok, this is totally unrelated to our cruise, but I have to vent...

Why are some people on the Dis so mean??? I thought these boards were supposed to be people helping each other. Some of these people take any opportunity to tear other people down. Does anyone else notice this? I really need to stop reading the main board and stick to trip reports and our thread. There are nice people here!

Ok, I'm better now. I think I'm just tired of people arguing - politics, the news, the Dis, here at work. I need this vacation!

I hear you!!! I was a member for about 5 years of a forum for Italian Greyhounds (the kind of dogs I own) and sadly fighting among some of the Moderators and members eventually caused the whole thing to shut down. Thankfully, a lot of us are now friends on FB so I didn't completely loose touch with the wonderful people I'd met there. I always think you should treat people on the anonymous web the same way you would treat them in person. I hate when I see someone posting rude and ugly things just because they feel like "it's the web so it doesn't matter what I say".

I couldn't agree with you more. A forum like this is no place for that kind of thing. I steer clear of those discussions on my Facebook also.

I've been checking the DCL website often to see if there are rooms in our category on the other side of the ship (we think we want the other side). I noticed there are now IGT/OGT/VGT rates out. Looks like they're trying to fill our ship! Some people out there are going to get a really good deal!
