We were planning to meet. If you want, I will PM you my cabin number and you can just bring it to me. We could arrange a time. I am the actual purchaser of the bags-which by the way NO ONE gave their opinions on the XL bags I found at deadmentellnotales website. So I am buying those. I figure if everything doesn't fit in the bags we can spread them out at dinner on the tables.

Seems easiest to just hand everything out at pirate night, kids can have fun looking at their stuff, putting some on, some in the bags given out and whatever. If anyone is missing, we can take remaining bags and make them up with everyones goodies to give the bag full of stuff to them later. I'm thinking everyone will be there so after 24? items have gone out and our crew looks all set, any extras I might have can go to other tables. The poor kids sitting near our kids may really feel left out! We'll need to know our party and tables well enough to recognize "our" kids but I think that will be easy by pirate night.

I apologize, I don't think I explained that very well. The "girls" were going to meet and make up the bags sometime in the days prior to Pirate Night. Then each of us would take the bags for their group to be handed out at Pirate Night dinner. I'm not 100% sure but I do not think everyone participating in the goodies is linking dining so that's why we are not waiting until dinner. Plus, I think it would be difficult to coordinate this at the dinner table.

Sorry for not explaining this better.

I got inspired by ya'll swim suit posts. I looked at Newsport news, Ebay, and Chaddwicks. I hope to visit Kohl's, Penneys, and Marshalls later. Sorry, but for me I nearly spit out my popcorn looking at the Newsport news site. Very cute suits, but no for this post partum body. I need super spandex every where. Invisible spandex on my thighs would be nice too.

I think we've all been there. But ya know what? I agree with Ker-Bear. Who cares? Vacations are all about letting loose and having fun. Of course, I am a bit of a hypocrite, my husband fusses at me all the time for thinking I'm too big. Don't we all? You don't have to be comfortable in a bikini, even when I am at my "ideal weight" I get a little uncomfortable showing so much skin. DH is the one who insists, lol! But when in doubt, a black one-piece with a nice sarong wrap looks classy on ANYONE. No matter what size! :goodvibes

I don't think I actually mentioned a cutoff but think its a fine idea 2 months out. Now, I followed a link to a link and think I got to 1590 post with cruise goodies........... but I'm seeing 16 and not the 24, is the updated post some other number? I'm getting overwhelmed!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=785829&page=106&pp=15

Heck, I'm not even on the 1590 post as far as I can see.

I posted the most recent list earlier today. As far as I know, that's the most current.

Kerry, I'm sorry I didn't comment on the pirate goody bags. I'm sure anything will be great, and the kids will love it all! I think we have a great bunch of folks putting this all together for the kids. They're sure to have a blast! :thumbsup2

I'm up for whatever we decide as far as putting the goody bags together. Let me know when and where, and I'll do my best to be there. I'm so new at this whole cruising thing, that I can't offer my opinion as to what I think would work best.

As always, thank you to everyone who is organizing everything. I wouldn't know 1/8th of what goes on without all of you here on the DIS! :thanks: :disrocks:

Hopefully, everyone will get the wristbands so we'll be able to recognize each other. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone  , just trying to get caught up on this thread again. :sunny: I've PMed Ker-Bear to be linked for dining. I'm going to Party City to find my goody bag goodies this week. What else am I missing? What about the bracelets? I've gotten behind on that. Have they been ordered? Can I still get it on that one?

I've counted 107 DIS cruisers, anyone else get that number? That's a lot of DISers! I can't wait!!! :cheer2: :dance3: pirate:

I kept going back 10 pages at a time trying to get to post 1590 but it was taking too long. Is there a way to send yourself to a particular page? Actually, cutting and pasting all the impt info from post 1590 into any of the posts on page 1 would work too. That's always easy to find, just an idea.

I'm lost, why are we looking for post 1590? It would be on page 104. OOPS page 106

If you're looking for the cruise list or the cruisin' goodies list, I keep the current address in my favorites list, so they're just one click away. I forgot to do that for the bracelet info, so I've been laying low and hoping Tae Ja would repost it.

Ah, I'm finally caught up. Of course I can post the Cruisin' Goodies list again. I'm all for a cut off, especially since some people will be ordering and we want it to have time to get here. I thought I would order wristbands early July, so I'll be posting about that hopefully tonight. Tae Ja, I'm sorry, if you have the info you've already gathered, could you repost? I've lost my link to the numbers and sizes we're ordering. Kerry, I love those bags, so now you have some feedback. :teeth:

I'm sorry, it's dinner time now, I promise I will post the updated list as soon as I'm done eating!

Hey Kerry,

Sounds good to me to drop it off at your room, just wondering... in general (and would be helpful in this case)... if you aren't in your room and someone wants to drop something off to you, can they take it to Guest Services and a room steward or something would deliver it to your room?

Just wondering, so in case we don't have a chance to meet then you don't have to hang out in your room waiting on me, etc. Wouldn't want to keep you from those drinks by the pool :drinking1 ;)

Also, I was looking through the lists of things that people are signed up to bring, is there anything that is missing from the list that people think we should have (besides Johnny Depp of course, now THAT would be my kind of treat bag :teeth: )

Anywho if anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to input.

suzanne, so sorry to hear about all your water problems!

We are so used to the water up here, that we actually are more thrown off by the sunshine.

We're all walking around trying to figure out what that big glowing thing in the sky is.

We have a motto around here, "Washingtonians don't tan.... we rust!"

Anyway, hope you and your family are hanging in there. Good luck with the busted ice machine, yes, thank god for insurance! Hopefully you will be dried out soon.

Just out of the curiosity because I'm quite ignorant when it comes to geography, etc. are you guys having rain and flood problems that are even close to New Orleans standards or is it more minor than that? You having to evacuate or anything?

Sorry, if thats a stupid question, just thinking about you guys out there and hoping you're all well.

I'm sure everything has been explained quite well....... I didn't keep up with the thread so I'm just clueless, at least thats what I'll blame it on! You're right, it would be chaos at dinner. I wanted my kids to say thank you to each person giving them stuff but there's probably a way to achieve that. OK, I was obsessed with linking to post 1590 for some reason but the updates have been posted recently, thanks, so I'm all set. Making the bags ahead of time makes sense, maybe we should all email you names of kids for master list to go on goodie bags? If a bag gets misplaced by a child, a name might help get it returned.

If Lori hasn't come up with any ideas yet (I was in the same boat thinking no ideas were left a couple of months ago) she's welcome to any of my selections or might want to look toward some of the other greyed items in others lists. (Only mention this since it says 'suggestions welcome'!) I'll post prices just in case someone is interested; from the deadmentell site, I was going to order anticipating 30 kids.

See-thru eyepatchs .59 x 30 = $17.70
Replica coins (8 sets of 8 so each kid gets 2) = 34.72
Coin pouch = .99 x 30 = 29.70

Oh yeah, we're the holdouts not doing wristbands or tshirts, please don't take it personally. We'll hang and the kids will play but my DH doesn't know a thing about you guys. He may freak out a bit as it is but wristbands would send him over the edge!

Here's the phrase we've some what agreed upon. three circles (and) It's Time 9/3/06 Wonder

((((((Wristbands))))))

Poster.........Adult.......Child.....Total needed

LCTsMom...... 7 ............3 ........10
Purplern........ 2 ............1 .........3
Blackunicorn...3 ............1..........4
Ker-Bear .......4 ............1 .........5
taeja71..........3.............3 ........ 6
Piecy.............2 ........................2
Lundve.......... 4 .......................4

Here's the link (fyi to myself) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=785829&page=140&pp=15&highlight=wristband

:cheer2: I'm so excited that our dining gorup has grown! :cheer2: Ya'll can watch me pig out! I'll have that and that and that and that...Oh didn't you know that calories, fat, and all that don't count while on a cruise and even vacation for that matter???? :rolleyes1

This is the most current linked dining list I see (right below the most current wristband participants).

Ker-Bear said, Here is who I have linking dining:

Ker-Bear & family/friends: 7 people
purplern & family: 4 people
taeja71 & family: 6 people
LCTsmom & family/friends: 10 people
Piecey & friend: 2 people
Blackunicorn & family: 4 people
reallyfunmom & family: 4 people

Adding Luv2travel

:woohoo: 107 DISers sailing wow, cool! :woohoo:

Well if ya'll are Shamu I must be a waddling penguin. My arms wobble and my thighs are thick, plus I'm short too boot. Aint that a pretty picture? :artist:

When he was in Middle School, DS#2 (who is now 25) told his MD that he was not overweight, he was undertall. He told us later it was a quote from Garfield. :rotfl2: MD was not amused. :rolleyes1

I noticed that arm wiggle on my 57th Birthday. :confused3 I never saw it before. Apparently others noticed they got it at a younger age so I may be admitting to some serious DENIAL here. :confused3

TAE JA--I want that invisible spandex too--for the arms and the thighs! Do they have it at Kohls? I am going there in a few minutes for the Wednesday sale.

I'm wearing a bikini and I don't care what anyone thinks! :thumbsup2

You crack me up. I never heard "Pooh sized" before but will gladly admit to it.

I also have a humdinger of a scar on my knee but am SO THANKFUL that it does not prohibit anything I want to do that I don't give a hoot who sees it. My Sister in law will not wear shorts or skirts that show her knees because she has a straight line scar from ligament repair surgery. My scar is about the size of a Tablespoon, but I can bend that knee better than the other one which has a touch of arthritis. So you all will get a show--a Pooh sized lady with a scar. I just try not to pose for pictures with Minnie when I am in a swim suit.

:rotfl: You all kill me! For my DS's pool party one of the moms called and asked if she could bring her toddler. I said "of course! just bring her suit" The mom asked if I was wearing a swimsuit because she wasn't sure. My response "of course, who cares." My DBF then proceeds to insist that I wasn't being fair because even though I think I'm "pooh sized", he knows I'm not and what if the mom who called is "pooh sized". Sure enough the mom shows up with her suit on and there is absolutely no reason for to not wear a suit. She was no where near "pooh sized", she was a normal size. :confused3

They could dictate a thank you and you could post it here after the cruise.

A suggestion from a non-participant--how about each kid's first name and stateroom number on the bag so if it is misplaced, any CM or thoughtful guest can return it? It could be hung on a doorknob or attached to the FISH.

My DH knows about you guys but our DSs and DF do not so we are soft pedaling all this to have a "family" cruise so they can get "hooked". Then if they get "into" DIS later, as we did AFTER our first cruise, that is all well and good. We may well be lurking on the cruise. I do want to know when the DIS meets will be just in case they want to come however and do hope I get to meet Tae Ja before we go since we live near each other.
