Hey everyone
Is everybody else waterlogged? :rotfl: In addition to the nonstop rain here our hose to our icemaker in fridge burst the other night :confused3 Ironically one of my kids got sick at 4am and I went downstairs to get her some water and stepped into about an inch of h20 in my kitchen. I ran to the basement to turn off the main h20 and it was "raining" in my finished basement :guilty: dh was at work ugh He of course came right home but thank God for insurance!! We have 4 industrial sized dryers and dehumidifiers going.

Anyhoooo in more fun news..... I'm getting 36 sword pirate pens-100 silver and gold bubble gum coins- and 150 assorted treasure jewels for our pirate booty pirate:

You all have no idea how bad I need this vacation

Suzanne

ps when you are on vacation who cares what size you are :sunny: Put on whatever bathing suit you want and have fun with your family!!!!

 no fun. I bet if the other kids were awake they would've thought it was cool it was raining inside the house. Good luck getting your basement dried out. Oh the sound of industrial fans. WHIRRRRRRR

We have had passing showers here in NY for the last few days. Today is the first day the rain started over night and has continued through the morning. I hate dreary days.

Good luck with any of you who have water problems. I know it is a pain!!

Since I am also traveling with several Non-DISers I too may end up lurking more than actually commiting to much. However, I will be on the lookout for lime green t-s and wristbands....

FYI,

While this will probabbly NOT effect us, it may be worth keeping in the back of your mind. There is a shuttle lauch scheduled for Aug 28,2006 at Kenndy Space Center.... When the shuttle launches, over 150,000+ folks are in the area of the Port and the space center, which can cause significant delays in some areas... If the weather is bad on mission day, it could be postponed..perhaps to Sunday Sept 3 (our departure date)?? :scared1: which means extra time will be needed to get to Port. It is not likely, but it is a possiblity .....so keep your eye on this ...

Aug. 28 STS-115
STS-115 will deliver a truss and other key components during the Space Shuttle Program's 19th mission to the International Space Station
.

Hmmm, trying to be optimistic here. Could we see the shuttle launch from the Wonder if it did have to launch on the 3rd???

On our last Wonder Cruise, We could see the shuttle stationed (in the distance), so it could be possible depending on launch time :confused3

Thank you for the info, I was looking at the launch schedule the other day and didn't see this one. I guess I might ought to get on those hotel ressies before everything gets booked up - huh?

NJBILL - do you have 10 yo boy/girl twins (sorry if that's been posted before, I tend to get behind on these post a lot :teeth: ). I have a 10 yo DS and 12 yo boy/girl twins. Maybe they'll get to know each other. :sunny:

Hey Kerry,

Sounds good to me to drop it off at your room, just wondering... in general (and would be helpful in this case)... if you aren't in your room and someone wants to drop something off to you, can they take it to Guest Services and a room steward or something would deliver it to your room?

Just wondering, so in case we don't have a chance to meet then you don't have to hang out in your room waiting on me, etc. Wouldn't want to keep you from those drinks by the pool :drinking1 ;)

:rotfl2: :lmao: There is nothing that will stop me from enjoying drinks at the pool ;)

I'm pretty laid back when it comes to stuff like this. We have several meets planned and I figure I will see you eventually. I have no problem giving you my room number and then us meeting up. For now I am on Deck 2 and I doubt that will change. What deck are you on? Our Nassau excursion isn't until 1:30 so I will have most of the morning free. Plus I could meet you in between dinner seatings as well.

My scar is about the size of a Tablespoon, but I can bend that knee better than the other one which has a touch of arthritis. So you all will get a show--a Pooh sized lady with a scar. I just try not to pose for pictures with Minnie when I am in a swim suit.
Jan :earsgirl:

Ohhhh-we can trade scar stories! I have a scar that was just fixed but is still a doozy. Runs from between the "girls" past my belly button. I still wear a bikini :rotfl: I love it when my DS's friends ask him what's up with that thing on your mom's stomach! I also have one on my right arm from stutures that is 3 in long and about 3/4 inch wide. One on my left elbow courtesy of the 2 screws put in last fall because I don't know how to walk :teeth: That's about 3 in long. I also have one about 2 1/2 inches long on my shoulder. Have no idea where that came from but it starting growing and the plastics doc fixed it. It's still long but looks much better :thumbsup2

I guess this is why I'm not too self conscious. When I'm fully dressed people gawk and ask. I fugure the fat pouches on the top of my hips don't need an explanation :drinking1 The scars distract so I figure, why not wear a 2 piece :confused3

Oh that's right. I thought I changed it, must've been just on the cruiser list... sorry. ooops.

the updated list has now been updated

They could dictate a thank you and you could post it here after the cruise.

A suggestion from a non-participant--how about each kid's first name and stateroom number on the bag so if it is misplaced, any CM or thoughtful guest can return it? It could be hung on a doorknob or attached to the FISH.

My DH knows about you guys but our DSs and DF do not so we are soft pedaling all this to have a "family" cruise so they can get "hooked". Then if they get "into" DIS later, as we did AFTER our first cruise, that is all well and good. We may well be lurking on the cruise. I do want to know when the DIS meets will be just in case they want to come however and do hope I get to meet Tae Ja before we go since we live near each other.

::yes:: I agree ::yes::

So, how was Kohl's? I wen't last night and spent $75.00 on two items (one blouse and one tankini swimsuit). :yuck: I about choked when I saw the detailed bill. Both items were on sale! I've been surfing Ebay to find other suits, but the shipping is rediculous; over $3.00and up for Standard shipping. Give me a break! What a joke!:joker:

We don't have a Kohls.

I would like to find some cute casual capris (not denim) but right now it's not in the budget.

I am trying to find culottes--with a waist band and belt loops and wide around the leg and about knee length. That is what I wear almost all the time but especially when I am working (homecare pediatric physical therapy). No luck at Kohl's. No luck at Wal-Mart, but my shopping buddy found a skirt she liked. I got a new comb and some salad.

Since I have hardly ever had a body worth gawking at, being vain is not much of an issue. :teeth:

I have scars from the removal of two breast lumps (benign fibrous tissue), an ovarian cyst and deep bruising that my body did not heal itself by my right knee from a bad fall in 2004.

When the surgeon described the scar before the ovarian cyst removal he said "no more bikinis". I said that if I ever had a body for a bikini, a scar would not stop me from wearing it. :rotfl2: But, never got that body yet.

E-bay? For colottes?? Never dawned on me.

I have gone to several websites--LL Bean and others and marked some items. I will give them some consideration and check the catalogs we have.

Check Goodwill too. Its hit or miss, but I found two normal length shorts at 1/2 price.
