Disney with 1 adult and 3 kids

You people are crazy if you are recommending to the poster that the 7 and 8 year can stand in WDW lines by themselves without her supervision in June. Lines will be very long and it will be very hot.

If I saw them in line without a parent I would go to the nearest cast member and report this situation.

That is completely irresponsible. It doesn’t matter what the rules say or don’t say it should not be done.

Also I have been on many a ride that has broken down for brief and long periods of time thankfully never had to be evacuated from a ride but I do know others who have. You should be in the lines and on the rides with your children for their safety.

Unless the kids are misbehaving or being otherwise disruptive, don’t expect any CM to do anything. It’s 100% within the rules to let the kids go through the line by themselves. Unless they have a cognitive disability, kids this age should be able to stand in line just fine.

If a ride stops or has to be evacuated, no one is in danger. Provided the kids can follow instructions (again, something kids that age should be able to do), they’ll be fine.

Also, not all lines will be “very long,” particularly with smart use of Fastpass. Several of the height restricted rides have queues that are at least partially indoors, and all of them have shade at some point, so heat shouldn’t be a big factor either.

Please don’t call people crazy for trusting that their kids can wait in line and follow instructions.

THIS! Thank you!

I was wondering if she had a child herself. I can see by the signature that she does. Makes me wonder why she has such a hard time with someone else leaving their child in line. We all know our children better than anyone else. And why this poster has decided to be so insulting over a rule that Disney says is okay is BEYOND me. If something bothers me that I read on the Internet, I've learned to sensor myself and keep quiet or to say it in a way that isn't just completely rude.

Like I said you people are crazy to even consider leaving children at 7 and 8 to be basically unsupervised at Disneyworld in lines or in rides.

There is an expectation that parents will be supervising young children. It’s of no moment if it’s in the Disney rules or not
My kids were walking to school at that age, they were capable of waiting in line too.

Faves of the kids - Sanaa by a landslide. We're probably going to go on our USO trip even though we're upset with WDW and changed to USO recently. That's how much the kids talk about it. Dipping sauces and meat on a stick? They were in love! California Grill - to see the fireworks up high and they loved their dipping sauce too that is included in the bread service. May throw some together for them shortly:) Marrakesh - meat on a stick. You see a pattern of sticks and dips? I do.

Have a blast! I can't do 2 on 1 at a theme park, you're super mom!

Thanks again, everyone! I've been looking into all the suggestions given. And I'm sorry if I caused drama, that was not my intention.

I think it is very rude of you to call other parents crazy just because they make parenting decisions that would not be right for you and your family. Some children can handle waiting on a Disney ride line with only their sibling while others can't. Only their parent knows if this would work for their kids.

You caused no drama at all. Another poster was quite rude in her comments since she's not keen on 7 or 8 year olds standing in line alone. Notice....she hasn't returned to this thread, but I've seen her post on others. You do what's right for YOUR children. You know them better than anyone else.
