I am sure this has been talked about to death but ... what are people's thoughts on getting one? I was talking to someone yesterday who loves it and puts all her groceries, gas on it. I do think I could do it without carrying a balance. I do like the 20% off special tours since we are thinking of doing one and the change of a $40 or $50 credit. I gather if you are going to carry a balance it is not the way to go. What if I pay it off every month?

thanks

I am not real sure what you're asking. I don't use my Disney Visa for everything like some people do. We pay our balance off every month. It's nice to have that Disney rewards card on your trip for some extra spending money.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I just wondered if people would suggest getting one. Do you have to spend $1,000 to get reward points? What is the ratio. Are there other perks?

I'll try to help. You earn 1 reward dollar for each $100 you charge. You can't actually use your rewards until you've accumulated $20. You need $20 to "order" the rewards card - which you can order online. After you have a rewards card, you can transfer any amount $10 and over to it. You can use your rewards at WDW, DLR, DCL, & the Disney Store. You do have to watch the expiration date though. They will generally be good for over 12 months (expiring on 12/31/XX), but any unused Rewards dollars on the card will be lost if not used (you can't transfer them back).

There are several perks: 1) an introductory rate of 6 months 0% interest is usually offered when you open the account; 2) 6 months 0% interest for a WDW or DLR package charged to the account; also 6 months 0% interest for a DCL cruise charged to the account; 3) you will sometimes receive a discount offer several days before it is available to the general public; 4) you may receive an offer to earn bonus rewards, based on your spending pattern (those offers vary widely!)

I hope I didn't confuse you too much! :)

Laura,

thanks for the info and you didn't confuse me.
