How long does it take to receive your rewards card from Disney Visa? I'm wanting to earn as many as possible before we leave so I want to wait as long as possible to request the card.

They say allow 4

Weeks, but I've always gotten it within a week. Just to be safe, though, I order it a couple of months early and put the minimum number of dollars on it. Then I continue to save Disney Dollars and transfer the remaining right before I leave. The minimum number you can transfer is 10.

You can also pick one up at Epcot I believe.

Once you request your reward card, the card is good for two years or so. After you receive it, you can continue to load additional reward dollars on it.

Disney Visa site says 4-6 weeks to receive your card but I don't think I have ever waited more than 1 week. You can request it now and then continue to load earned reward dollars onto that card until your vacation.
When you use up all your dollars remember to keep the card! It's not like a gift card where you throw them out once you have used up the money.

We love our Disney Visa...I put everything on that card. We have $1000 to apply to our December trip! I love knowing that every time I spend something a little bit of money is being set aside for our vacation. :cool1:

I always pick up a card at the parks, that way, I don't have to wait for one to be mailed to me!

you just go on the chase website and go to manage disney rewards, then redeem awards, it's pretty simple! :thumbsup2 Probably can do it by phone too, but I just use the website.

How do you load the rewards to the card? This will be our first experience with this.

If it's possible for you, the quickest way to get one is pick it up in person at DTD guest services.

It's inbetween Ghiradellis and the sports store.

Simply ask for a rewards card at the guest service counter, you'll need your Visa and photo ID. They have them pre-arranged in envelopes behind the counter.

The card is inside the envelope, with a sticker on the card that has the number to call. Call the number and transfer the points.

My points have always been avaliable within minutes. They do say it can take upto an hour for the transfer, but I've never waited more than 2-3 mins.

I always get mine at guest services at Epcot or MK. You just have to call and have the points transferred. It takes around 5 minutes to do!

The rewards card expires at the end of the following year you request it.

Anything you transfer to it will expire if not used before the ADR expires.

We charge everything on it. In the past we would accumulate about 300-400 every few years. But after upgrading to premier, this is much faster.

You can request the card with just $20. You can then transfer as low as $10 at any time by calling them.

You can also get a card in downtown Disney on the spot.

She's right. there is an expiration date on the card, so it's good until that date. So you can use the card until that time and load dollars onto it...just make sure you use them up for the expiration date on the card or they will be lost.

I had no idea you could get the reward card at the parks! We usually use the points towards our trip balance, so we have to get the reward card earlier so we can give our TA the reward card number. We originally used our reward card as park spending money. Now we use it to pay off the balance because if you use your Disney Visa card at the gift shops, you get 10% off (with a $50 purchase...which isn't too hard to accomplish at WDW) plus we're earning 2% towards our next trip. If you link your Disney Visa to your Key to the World card make sure you mention it to the cashier when checking out so you get the discount.

We have the Disney Premier Visa..so you earn more money (2% vs 1% on certain categories..like gas, groceries, ect) I earned $100 last month alone. (I put a $1000 payment towards our December trip...earned $20 just for that) For us, it was definitely worth the upgrade.

Have a great trip!

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I searched and could not find the answer. What exactly do you earn points or dollars for? Do you earn anything for charging your Disney vacation or do you just get the 6 months interest free? I was sort of under the impression that you get points or dollars for the cost of the vacation. Based on my current rewards balance, that does not look to be true. Is it just for groceries and gas etc.?

Thanks very much for the tip of getting your card at Downtown Disney. I did not know you could do that, and at this point, I'm afraid I'm cutting it too short. With my luck, it would arrive at my house after we left. TIA

Whatever you charge onto your Disney Visa card, you earn 1% in Rewards dollars, to use almost anywhere at Disney. So for every $100 you charge, you earn $1. That is what is showing as Reward Dollars on your Visa statement). You can then use them(once loaded onto a Rewards Card) towards your resort stay, store purchases, food, drinks, golf, etc.

Thanks very much for the info. I actually read (I think here) that some folks have an upgraded Premier Visa which doubles your rewards. Of course there is a $49 fee, however, that can easily be paid for with the extra reward/dollars that are earned. I called Chase, and upgraded mine, but I wish I had known about the upgrading before I paid for my vacation with my Disney Visa. I could have earned double the rewards. Ah, live and learn.....

Does anyone know if you can put rewards from 2 different accounts in the same household on one rewards card? My sis and her DH both have Disney Visa cards and it would be alot easier to have the rewards on one card? Order one card using rewards from one account and then add the rewards from the 2nd account to it?
