Disney Smells

Spaceship Earth - that musty smell.
Funnel cake.
The smell of tar in the summertime reminds me of the WDW railroad.

My local Disney store has that "disney smell". I don't know how to descibe it, but the stores in WDW have that same exact smell. Brings me back everytime I'm there.

This might be a first, but I associate the smell of the 'loading' room of Dinosaur at AK. Whenever I walk past the Engineering room at work, that reminds me of WDW! I actually LIKE that smell!!!

There's this smell, it's like a new smell, but not a new car smell... with a hint of plastic...

Oh, this makes me want to go back so badly,

When I walk into CSR, it has the Disney water smell becasue there is a fountain inside. It's like the POTC water smell.

I love the burning Rome smell in Spaceship Earth.

Some of the pavillions in Epcot have smells that bring me back as well.

I think the oranges/pine on Soarin is the greatest smell. They should sell it as air freshener...I would buy it! :)

Another idea I got from someone on these boards is to use a different scented body lotion when you go to Disney. Then if you dont use it for a while after you get back, when you smell it again it reminds you of Disney. It's like how sunscreen can remind you of the beach or Disney. I tried it and it works! :goodvibes

I would have to also agree with the Polynesian lobby (we call it the Big House!).

Here's a strange one - we think the elevator in Aorteara (sp?) has a distinct smell. We say it smells like pickles and feet!

Also, walking through Frontierland and smelling the burgers from Pecos Bills.

Mine is the room or resort smell. My bag smells like the room and so do all of my clothes because I do wash before we leave , so I have that disney smell for a few days after we get back.

The smell of the damp Florida air early in the morning...LOVE it!
The smell of the orange groves on Soarin'
The HEAVEN ON EARTH scent of the lobby at AKL...

I agree with all, but for me this smell goes back 35 years. The poly entrance under the monorail. The smell of the electric motors of the monorail, mixed with the tropical humid air is it.

The other smell which no one mentioned is the smell of the hand stamp ink they used years ago. The invisable ink that glowed under the ultraviolet light.

2 weeks to go and we will be back. Can't wait.

I constantly smell the water from the water rides! I know someone who has that smell of Splash Mountain water in his hair every so often (shampoo maybe?). I know that sounds weird but I have to sniff his hair every time I see him because of it. :rotfl2: I wish I smelled the pie from Philharmagic a lot... :-(

(I hope I got what you meant right, by the smells.)

This is a brilliant thread! I often randomly get a whiff of something and will say "that smells like Disney!" I get strange looks :rolleyes1

My favourite smells:
- The popcorn and pretzel carts
- Spaceship Earth. Can't explain it, but it's distinctive!
- The water on Splash Mountain

And the general Disney/Florida humidity smell that gets me so excited :goodvibes

I bought that purfume just so I could wear it every day. I get so many complimentss on it. I found out that now they sell it in an upscale chair store nearby. I won't spoil where and I hate to think they sell it. I want to think of it being exclusive to Norway and Disney. It gives me a reason to return to Epcot.

it sounds kinda funny saying this but WDW in the morning has such a good smell lol

The smell stepping off of the plane at MCO is what first gets me int he mood. We always arrive at night so that gets the excitement started.
The smell of AK in the morning is the best! We always starts off our trip there.
Also, the smell inside Space mountain, and Haunted Mansion.
The smell of the monorail.
The smell of beer in Canada since that is the first country we visit to start our leisurely stroll through the World.
Also, the smell of the basement of Tower of Terror while waiting to board.
Oh, I want to be there right now.
