Disney Parks Moms Panel 2015

I have really tried hard not to overthink this. I'm failing miserably. I honestly have no expectations but, for some reason, I'm still thinking about it. So, I think I've discovered a major tactical error on my part. In reading actual Moms Panel responses today (and, yes, I did this in preparation for my application, too) I realized I didn't put my sample question response in paragraph form like the actual panelists do. I did start off with a nice greeting, but I didn't separate the parts of my response into paragraphs so I think I just shot myself in the foot.

I don't think you should worry about that. It is more about what you wrote (plus punctuation and grammar). Putting paragraphs in that little box shouldn't be part of the requirement. I think you are ok.

Stress about other things. :rotfl:

If it makes you feel any better, I thought about separating mine into paragraphs, but chose not to because I figured the way it would come through on the their end, it would all be clustered together anyway. What basis did I have for thinking that? None. :rotfl: No use worrying about it.

Hi Everyone,

Enjoying being in the waiting room with all of you. Haven't applied in a couple of years, but thought I'd give it a try again. Will be anxiously standing by waiting. Funny, it's just as hard as I remember! Ah well, the best things in life are worth waiting for!! Pixie Dust to all those waiting!

Well, a little voice told me not to do it because I'll wind up disappointed, but I applied anyway. I figure it's better to try and not make it than not try at all. :).

So, I'm in the waiting game with all of you! Good luck to everyone.

:confused3:confused3HaHa! Same thing here. That little voice inside made me question whether or not to apply to MP again! That little voice also spoke to my 2 daughters, and they told me to remember the disappointment I went through after previous attempts. Those are the same 2 daughters I raised, telling them, " You don't know if you don't try". Once again, I'm waiting to see if my answers are what MP is looking for. Life lesson for Mom, too!:scratchin

At least we have this waiting room full of Disney crazies where we can all relate to each other :)

This is my first time applying and don't currently have another trip planned this coming year so I won't be able to apply again next year :(

Good luck to all!!

I applied yet again and am hoping that my use of DVC points qualified me for DVC Mom panelist and that I make it through. Made it through to round 2 last year.

here were DVC questions....

-When did you become a Member?
-What is your Home Resort(s)?
-We'd like you to answer a sample question similar to those submitted to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please craft this as if your answer was going to be posted on DisneyParksMomsPanel.com. Feel free to refer to questions and answers already on the site, but we'd like to see your own style and personality shine, along with a heaping helping of Pixie Dust. Proper grammar, punctuation and information that is easily understood is vital. Your answer needs to be 217 words or less.

Your question: Our family loves visiting the resorts at Walt Disney World as part of our Disney Vacation Club membership. We have not yet vacationed at Disney's Vero Beach Resort & Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Which one would you suggest for my family (me, my husband and 3 kids: 2 daughters, ages 9 and 6; and 1 son, age 4).
-Also, this will not count for or against you (again, just for fun!), but do you know the Disney Vacation Club® significance of the number 217?
-Please list the Disney Vacation Club® Resorts you and your family have stayed at during a Disney Parks vacation.
-When and how did you first learn about the Disney Parks Moms Panel?
-Disney Parks is asking guests to "Show Their Disney Side" -- the side of their personalities that shine brightest on a Disney Parks vacation. Everyone has a Disney Side. It's the spirit that comes out to play when you’re feeling the Disney magic! We'd like you to submit a photograph with you and your family showing your Disney Side. (Photos must be in one of the following formats: *.jpg, *.gif or *.png.)

i submitted a single picture because that is what it asked for. We had the Frozen Fractals question too and I just answered fun along with the 217 question. I couldn't figure that one out at all. Except for something to do with Aulani. After reading Gary's tweets, I made sure that everything was perfect with spelling, punctuation and grammar because he stated that is what they are really looking for.... someone who can answer the questions. I think that is what they will look for in the "fun" questions.

So, obviously, they say the answer doesn't matter, which I take to mean there is no right and wrong answer. However, will it count against you if you have a nomenclature mistake? In one of my "just for fun" I wrote Cinderella's Castle instead of Cinderella Castle. What are the odds that nomenclature mistake casts me out this year? (I'm really hoping not too high, because I felt I had a really good answer to the sample question so trying to remain hopeful)

I honestly doubt it. I made the same mistake and I'm not too worried about it. I think it would be a different story if you called it Ariel's castle...lol! :)

Here's hoping.

I know nomenclature is one of the important things after spelling, punctation and grammar. I'm just hoping they'll overlook an 's on a just for fun, since it wasn't a mistake in the sample question.

I know it could burn me. I know if I messed up not using a proper name in my sample answer it would likely filter me out. They get so many responses they need to use some strict filters like that to eliminate some of the pool, I'm just wishing they'll let it slide on the just for fun.

I'm not worried about the "fun" questions. I really don't think they will come into play at all. Gary tries to be as transparent as he can about the process, and he has said multiple times that those questions will not count against anyone OR for them. I believe him!

Just checking in with everyone! I've mainly been keeping up with the process through twitter this year but I still wanted to pop in and say Hi to my DisneyMP buddies :flower3:

I applied for the Disney Vacation Club panelist once again this year after making it to the final round last year. This will be my seventh time applying and second attempt as the DVC Mom.

Pixie dust to all and a special shout-out to my fellow Disney Vacation Club Moms Panel hopefuls!

Good luck to you! You deserve a spot!

I hope they take more than THREE DVC specialists since there are so many good candidates!

:yay::yay::yay:

I had such a hard time deciding between WDW & DVC. I really wanted to apply under DVC but there are still 4 resorts I have not stayed at (OKV, HH, VB, & Aulani) and I have never done an Adventures by Disney OR been on a Member Cruise so I thought I would be counted out and went with WDW instead. I am kind of regretting my decision now...

Nothing to do now but sit back and wait :)

I noticed the sample DVC question asked about Vero or Hilton Head. I can imagine it would be hard for a DVC applicant to answer that question had they not been at either resort. Do you think they did that as a quick way to weed people out?

Maybe! I did not even got to the DVC questions to look at them. I am sure I would have been able to answer it with a a little research, but I would think they would want people who have stayed everywhere. I will see who makes it and if it is someone who has not stayed everywhere, I will apply as DVC next year. Assuming I do not make it this year of course :goodvibes
