Disney Parks Moms Panel 2015

Hi All, Can I join in? Submitted my application late last night for WDW for the first time. :cool1: Have wanted to apply the last few years but kept missing my opportunity by a mere day or so. :sad2: So I am very excited I finally got an app in and hope I did okay in answering my question but like others found answering the question in less than 189 words a little hard when I wanted to get it just right, hehe. Good luck to everyone!! :goodvibes Edited to add... For those who have been through this process before and made it past the first round, how long does it usually take them to tell you that you made it to the next round?
Gary tweeted round 2 notifications will come out in approx 5 weeks.

Hello! I'm late to the game on this thread, but I just caught up by reading all 25 pages! My name is Lauren, and this is my 7th year to apply for WDW. I made it to Round 2 in 2012 and 2013. I haven't had too much time to keep up with this thread or the Facebook page because we are building a house and preparing to move, but now that the process has started, I can't keep myself away! We will be moving at the end of September (same town, new house), so I'll have plenty to keep me busy while we wait! Also, I am really hoping we hear about R2 at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct as mentioned on the application page instead of the 5 week period that Gary mentioned, because we will be boarding the Wonder for a 6-night Western cruise on October 11th. I would rather not fill out the application at sea (if I am fortunate enough to make it, of course)! So glad to see so many familiar faces from previous threads. Pixie dust to everyone!

I've tried to figure out where to go to follow all of this on Facebook & Twitter, but cannot find them… Is there a link or keywords? What am I missing?

The main hashtag being used on Twitter is #DisneyMP, and if you're not following @gary_jerry yet, he's been extremely helpful offering some insight and answering questions people have as it relates to the process and Mom's Panel in general.

I'll send you a DM with how to find the Facebook group.

Would you mind sending me info on finding the Facebook group also please?

Thanks! I put in my request to join! I appreciate the information! Although…the more I read, the more I second guess my application! But the process was fun, so even if I come up empty again, at least I'm learning new things every year and this continues to help feed my Disney Mania :-)

For people who have "gone all the way" or know someone who has...how many rounds are there? Just curious-and submitted a first time application!

Traditionally there have been three rounds. First was written questions, second more questions and a video submission (although I think that was just a headshot/photo in the early years), third a telephone interview, then the final panel was announced. Last year, Gary's first in charge of the panel, he added a "Round 3a," in which we answered an actual question previously asked of the panel. I got through all 3 1/2 rounds last year, but did not make the final cut. The FastPass+ to Round 2 this year was a nice reward from Gary. :)

So...that's how it's been done in the past. Gary has hinted at changes for this year, including additional rounds and more video (and something to do with rice...). It sounds like some changes have already taken place with Round 1, such as the request for a photo and a sample question. (Haven't seen R1questions yet because of the FastPass, hoping someone will post them! Dying of curiosity!!!) We'll just have to see what Gary has cooking!

I applied for WDW this year. Here is what I had on my application:

*How many "frozen fractals" do you think Queen Elsa had all around? (*There's really no wrong answer here. We just wanted an excuse to quote the lyrics. *Frozen fractals* is fun to say, and he good citizens of Arendelle love when their kingdom can be mentioned on a Disney Parks website.)
100 word limit

*We'd like you to answer a sample question similar to those submitted to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please craft this as if your answer was going to be posted on DisneyParksMomsPanel.com. Feel free to refer to questions and answers already on the site, but we'd like to see your own style and personality shine, along with a heaping helping of Pixie Dust. Proper grammar, punctuation and information that is easily understood is vital. Your answer needs to be 189 words or less.
-Your Question: My family love meeting the Disney characters at the Magic Kingdom® Theme Park! I have a 10-year-old daughter who loves all the princesses, my 8-year-old son is all about Toy Story, and my husband and I grew up with the "classic" Disney characters. What advice would you have for us to meet the most characters and get the best pictures?
189 word limit

*Also, this will not count for or against you (again, just for fun!), but do you know the Disney Parks significance of the number 189?
189 word limit

*Disney Parks is asking guests to "Show Their Disney Side" -the side of their personalities that shines brightest on a Disney Parks vacation. Everyone has a Disney Side. It's the spirit that comes out to play when you're feeling the Disney magic! We'd like you to submit a photograph with you and your family showing your Disney Side.

*In the past 12 months, how many times would you estimate you have visited Walt Disney World® Resort as a Guest?

*When and how did you first learn about the Disney Parks Moms Panel?
