Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

DHS is my favorite park but we never rope drop so don't know how that is. Usually go in the evening because I like the old Hollywood vibe and gotta see Fantasmic. ToT, Runaway Railway, and Muppets are also must dos. But the park does need more! Please start by bringing back citizens of Hollywood

DHS and AK are my two favorite parks.

I would honestly be okay with them doing a new Muppets 3D movie to replace the original, even though it's the last Muppets thing that Jim Henson did. I'd love to see them added to the other parks. MK used to do a show in Liberty Square, but they never brought it back.

I would like to see updates to Muppets - maybe something with randomization so that shows are different.

Apparent nobody on Wall Street believes that attendance is up. I read so many stories about how it's off.
Lol just barely.

I'll be interested in reading some more of the report but most things look to be normal and what I expected besides a large jump for EPCOT. Were people waiting for Journey of Water or waiting for the walls to finally come down?
I was waiting for the walls to come down. And I was disappointed.
I checked Google maps, and noticed that part of the backstage area near Animation Courtyard apparently has a Subway??
I'll take a foot long. ;) Seriously, I don't see where you think there might be a subway there.

Cast member dining is back there, including a Subway. If you check Google maps, it's the semi-circular part of the building that Disney Jr Dance show is in, behind Anaheim Produce, I believe.

There's a Starbucks backstage in Disney World too that is inaccessible to guests.

Did Pirate’s Lair at Disneyland, aka Tom Island. Most stuff was closed or broken. It’s a shell of its former self and isn’t as good as Orlando. I really hope they don’t close it in Orlando🙁

They need to revive the Muppets in the way they work. My DD hates the book treasure island but loves the movie Muppet Treasure Island, we watch Muppets Christmas Carol every year. I need a Muppets Pride and Prejudice, DH wants to see a Muppets Beauty and the Beast where the entire cast is Muppets except for the beast who is human. The live action remakes have been pretty middling to bad, if you have to make them do it Muppet style!

I find the layout is pretty terrible; it lacks a good flow that both MK and Epcot had before it. I'm hoping that Monstropolis is takes over Animation Courtyard and creates a connection from Toy Story Land to Sunset blvd.
I am still bitter that they have not brought back that incredible Star Wars nighttime show. I do love Tower of Terror though, so I have to pop in that park with each visit just for that. Agree that the flow of the park is terrible.

I was surprised too! I know MK has a CM-only Subway hidden backstage but this was the first I'd seen evidence of one in HS

I am with you on that one! It is my least favorite park as well. The rope drop situation for off-site guests is awful as everyone jams in line at the tapstiles instead of being let in to a holding area like the other parks. There's not enough attractions to manage the crowds and there's not a lot for those with motion sickness like my DH to experience, whereas there's a lot he can ride in the other parks. We skip it a lot unless there's a treat we're hoping to get or to see decorations. It is my DS-28's favorite park though so we always have to go when he joins us. (He loves the theming.)
See and as an onsite guest DHS is by far the. most pleasant rope drop experience because they don't hold us at multiple points. Once you're in, you're in and. can just walk to whatever line you want. So much nicer than the other parks.

Good point! This trip was the first time we experienced rope drop at HS as an offsite guest. Never again. Much better as an onsite guest!

Regarding the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom: Why couldn’t they just build a second auditorium underneath the tree? That way, It’s Tough To Be A Bug could continue while Zootopia: Better Zoogether doesn’t have to replace an existing show.
