Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

Yes. I ate at Ohana and Sanaa my last solo trip...and stumbled out very very full.
Absolutely! They'll just give you smaller portions of everything.
Thanks! I just never considered it before, but I specifically made a pair of ears in anticipation for this place opening last year. Finding out it was going to be family style burst the bubble as it were. Looks like I'm going to get to wear these afterall...yay!

If you brave Sanaa solo get the bread service and bring it back to your room...it served as my breakfast the rest of my trip!

My family loves Sanaa thankfully. We go almost every trip.

Love the ears!
Thanks, they took a lot of time so I really do want to wear them to the restaurant specifically. That was the point of them.

I bought some overalls for our “Toy Story Land” day, hoping it would be open.

New Details of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 40th Anniversary Celebration Revealed
The long-awaited 40th anniversary celebration will soon kick off at Tokyo Disney Resort on April 15, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Tokyo Disney Resort 40th Anniversary “Dream-Go-Round” will welcome an all-new daytime parade, decorations adorning both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, plus special food and merchandise.

You’ll feel the festive spirit upon first stepping into Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, as each park entrance is enhanced with colorful layers of “Dream Garlands.” A fitting number “40” will embellish Cinderella Castle, which has welcomed guests since the park’s opening on April 15, 1983.

A host of all-new entertainment is taking center stage, including “Disney Harmony in Color,” the first new daytime parade in five years at Tokyo Disneyland. Showcasing themes of adventure, courage, family bonds, and friendship from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films, the parade will open with Tinker Bell atop a rainbow-colored float adorned with beautiful petals. Not only will the magnificent floats be filled with familiar friends of Tokyo Disney Resort, new ones are joining too — including Vanellope and Ralph from “Wreck-It Ralph,” Wasabi, Fred, Honey Lemon and Go Go from “Big Hero 6,” and more!

Over in Tomorrowland at Showbase, a special 40thanniversary version of “Club Mouse Beat” will debut with Mickey Mouse and his friends showcasing their best moves set to varying musical styles such as hip-hop, Latin, and pop. To close out the show, in its grand finale, they’re sporting their 40th-themed outfits to the 40th anniversary theme song.

At Tokyo DisneySea, Mickey and Friends, as well as Duffy and ShellieMay, are ready to welcome you in their festive 40th anniversary outfits in the new Harbor Greeting, “Let’s Celebrate with Colors.” And to end the night, “Sky Full of Colors” will light up the sky at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea to the 40th anniversary theme song and fan-favorite Disney songs.

You’ll also have the chance to bring the fun home with all-new, exclusive merchandise! From dream-filled items sprinkled with Tinker Bell’s pixie dust to stylish pieces featuring the iconic Cinderella Castle and the opportunity to choose your very own “Dream Garland,” similar to those found around the resort during the celebration. Duffy and Friends are joining the party too with soon-to-be-revealed special merchandise.
Oh man, I wish the anniversary would last longer than March 2024. We are planning our first visit for 2024 but were thinking we would go in the second half of the year to be sure we're there after the Fantasy Springs expansion is open.

Same here. I really want to see Fantasy Springs (and the new Donkey Kong expansion in USJ) so I was considering going in the second half of 2024 with my sister. The celebration looks very cute though.

Family style makes it very interesting for us as I don’t eat meat but I don’t fall under Disney’s definition of “plant based” as I eat eggs, dairy & gelatin

I assume if my friend and I were to get an ADR she could pick on the meat skillet I could get the plant based and I could still get Mac & Cheese & other non plant based sides and eat the “real” desserts

That shouldn't be an issue. Just ask for a vegetarian, or whatever they call it, platter. They will bring more of what you like, usually even individual items. I got the vegetarian, maybe it was labeled as healthy, breakfast platter at Whispering Canyon. My husband and son got the regular. I ate biscuits from theirs; they weren't on the one I got. She saw me eating biscuits and asked if I would like more. They don't care. It's the same price no matter what you eat at the AYCTE.
