Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil and Disney Celebrates First Anniversary

It seems very fitting that Drawn to Life presented by Cirque du Soleil and Disney is celebrating its one-year “paper” anniversary at Disney Springs. After all, the show’s storyline centers on an animator’s drawing desk, a magical pencil, an unfinished animation sketch, and an antagonist who resembles a crumpled piece of paper.

The dazzling live theatrical production has delighted thousands upon thousands of guests during its first-year run. And there’s more fun ahead as Drawn to Life adds Sunday matinee performances to its weekly lineup beginning Jan. 8, 2023!

“Creating a show is always special, but it doesn’t reach its full potential until we share it with our guests,” said Heather Reilly, Cirque du Soleil Company Manager. “Now one year and nearly 500 performances later, the show has truly evolved into a one-of-a-kind experience that could only be delivered by a combination of Cirque du Soleil and Disney. Our cast, crew and guests have all been part of making that happen.”

Drawn to Life features an international cast of 68 artists from 19 countries; larger-than-life costumes, props and make-up; an original score performed live; and jaw-dropping athletic feats intertwined with a healthy dose of humor – all sprinkled with some Disney magic.

The family-friendly show tells the story of the love between a father and a daughter, drawing inspiration from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 100-year heritage of storytelling. The show celebrates iconic Disney stories and characters through innovative design, quintessential Cirque du Soleil acrobatic performances, dazzling choreography, and brand-new animation lovingly created by Disney Animation Studios artists.

Tickets for 2023 performances are available for purchase and make great gifts for Disney fans, theater lovers, families, and others for the holiday season. Visit DisneySprings.com/Cirque for more information.

They need to make a soundtrack for this. Want to listen to the music for this! Was so good!

Oh yeah, I can't wait to see it. I am hearing it's good too - though tracking kind of poorly. I kinda expected that as Disney's animated "adventure" movies don't seem to land quite often, yet they are among my favorites.
I am confident it is going to underperform due to it being a non musical adventure film and unfortunately having an LGBTQ + lead because that will turn certain demographics and countries from viewing

Early reviews are saying that it's good (on Rotten Tomatoes it sits around 75% as of me typing this). I won't go see it in theaters but I'll check it out once it becomes available on streaming. I do think the lack of marketing for this movie is a problem. Besides Twitter and this site, I haven't seen anything about it. I haven't gone to the movie theater in 3 years so maybe it's being shown in previews there?

i didn't know it has an LGBTQ+ lead, that makes me want to watch it even more now!

Technically, I do not believe Ethan Clade is the lead. He is the son of Searcher Clade, who would be considered the lead considering the movie was once called "Searcher Clade." I haven't seen it yet so I am not sure exactly how Ethan's role is played, but likely "Supporting" character in classic movie parlance.

I have seen a number of ads on television recently.

I never heard of this movie until today. Voice cast looks fantastic. I, too, will wait until it is streaming.
