BREAKING: Disney KiteTails Ending This Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney KiteTails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially ending this month. The final performances will take place on September 30, 2022.

“As you know, Disney KiteTails debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park for the launch of the 50th Anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort. After this first year, we will transition the entertainment on Discovery River Lagoon to the Flotillas. The last flight for Disney KiteTails will be September 30, 2022.

We look forward to seeing our guests continue waving to their Disney Friends cruising by on Flotillas, embracing Disney pals with up-close encounters, and more to come as we introduce our Festive holiday season offerings in the months ahead.”

When we were down in August, it was fun to watch, even if our entertainment came from watching the kites crash.

EPCOT Forever expected to return to Walt Disney World for a third time

Although not announced, the final performance of Harmonious will likely occur alongside the conclusion of Walt Disney World's 50th celebration on March 31 2023.

We don't have an opening date for the currently unnamed new show, but Disney has given the vague timeline of late 2023. Should Harmonious end on March 31, and the new show make its debut in late 2023, we expect to see EPCOT Forever return as an interim show.
I will count myself among the delusional and hopeful that would like to see Illuminations return

I am getting alerts that some of you have
quoted me, but unfortunately I’m not seeing your posts again. Not sure if anyone else is having his issue.

It baffles me why they don't do a show on the lake of an evening. No fireworks of course, but they can come up with something.
That was what Rivers of Light was. Just wasn't popular though. I enjoyed it, but lots of others didn't seem to.

Bob Chapek Details How Theme Parks Will Connect With Next-Gen Storytelling via “Disney Prime” Membership Service

At the 2022 D23 Expo, Disney CEO Bob Chapek held court with a few reporters backstage and talked about the next-gen storytelling that is in the works at Disney. A report from Deadline details the interview.

Previously called the metaverse, Disney is shifting messaging to refer to it as “next-gen storytelling”. Another shift that Chapek says is coming is a shift for Disney+ from a movie service platform to an “experiential lifestyle platform”. The idea is that Disney+ will be a platform that, among other things, unifies guests’ physical experiences in a theme park with digital experiences delivered through media.
Chapek talked about how guests might ride The Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean during a theme park visit. If they are members of Disney’s yet-to-be-named membership service (colloquially “Disney Prime), they would be presented with a VR opportunity to see how the Ballroom Dancer effect is made or to take a closer look at the Jack Sparrow animatronic. Guests might even be able to virtually ride Disney Parks attractions.

Scaffolding Rises as Work FINALLY Begins on Façade of Roundup Rodeo Barbecue Restaurant in Toy Story Land

Scaffolding has been erected at Roundup Rodeo Barbecue in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The project was announced in 2019 and unfortunately delayed by COVID. Back in April of this year, we briefly started to see signs of construction before another long pause, but now it seems construction crews are back in the saddle.

Now, we can see scaffolding, which suggests that work is finally taking place at the future table service restaurant.
