And to do it at typhoon is still a bit easier than Runoff rapids (that one is a beast) since there are no double tubes.
I actually found Typhoon with eight year olds to be more challenging than Blizzard Beach was with five year olds. Obviously, part of that could be the rose colored glasses of reminiscence. However, I do think:
1- The Ski Patrol area is so freaking good for elementary kids. I was able to sit while they played for a while at Blizzard Beach. At Typhoon, we did more slides because they didn't have the zipline, ropes bridge float thing, etc.
2- The rafts for Crush 'n' Gusher are only doubles even if you're going single. So, we had to drag up three doubles, instead of two doubles and a single.
3- Gangplank Falls you have to roll one of those 4 seater, family style rafts from the bottom of the slide to the top. It's not a huge distance, but it is a HUGE raft to have to manhandle.
4- At Blizzard, when doubles were available, I took a double, Hubby took a double, and the kids worked together to get the single up the steps. They weren't great at it, but they managed it three on one. At Typhoon, getting five singles up the stairs, the kids worked on one and Hubby and I both had to have our hands full with two singles each. There were times when I got caught in the walkway because the railings up to the slides narrowed and my body plus a tube on either side was too wide to get through. It would have been funny if I hadn't been the one who suddenly got dragged backwards when the tubes caught the railing. Think the viral videos of the dog trying to bring a too-wide bone into the house, except it's an exasperated mom. LOL
