I thought it funny how they have Jaws, Kong and BTTF on all their merch but there is NOTHING of them in the parks.

Kong's in the parks...

A train from BTTF 3 and a Delorean are still in the park on the way to the Simpsons land. I think they were used in filming. Doc appears in that area. There is a still a giant shark hanging near where the Jaws attraction used to be. It was out for maintenance just last spring.

To me, those are such small items and not even attractions for them to be slapping them at the forefront of their merch.

Iconic Lighted Waves Removed from Rooftops of Paradise Pier Hotel As Part of Pixar Place Hotel Remodel

Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland Resort recently began its retheming to become Pixar Place Hotel. Last week, we reported seeing the marquee removal and now crews have begun taking down the iconic waves from the roof.

The waves, which lit up at night, were part of the coastal California theming.

I know people are disappointed in the parks announcements. I wonder what people were expecting. There had been a ton of complaining on the boards about things being bad and not brought back. However, people are then surprised that they didn’t announce a bunch of expensive new things. That’s just not their bag right now. They seem to be making the money and numbers they want right now. As someone who was in the audience, there was a ton of clapping and positive energy, so I don’t know how that came across in the live stream. However, I was in the preferred/kool-aid drinking section. I wasn’t disappointed, but I had set very, very low expectations for park’s announcements. They have just built a lot of stuff in the past 5 years. I love both WDW and Universal. I think though if people are dissatisfied with WDW , maybe it’s time for a change.

I believe part of the reason of not having new big attractions is related to the comment from Chapek on how much they underestimated the need to develop more and more content for Disney+ is taking up lot of budget… I’d love to see how finance team measures ROI by attraction / park/ product… in the long run - in theory- if they have a “home run” on a new creation (character/movie/franchise) that could come eventually to the parks..

Anyhow.. in the short term I’m just super happy with fireworks and HEA :)))

Whilst I get there were not a lot of announcements and that site started the rumour mill regarding Tomorrowland setting people's hopes up like always, but I'd prefer them to announce stuff once ground is being broken so things don't get cancelled like previous D23 (We all remember the Main Street Theater). I just wish the 10 minutes of maybes would have been dedicated to stuff we knew was happening or stuff they only briefly mentioned like Fantasmic, Woody's Roundup Rodeo BBQ, even something more on San Fransokyo & the new Epcot fireworks show
