‘Encanto’ Mirabel Meet-and-Greet Returning to Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure Soon

It looks like Mirabel will be returning to Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure soon. She met there back in November and later appeared in Disneyland Park. The character meet-and-greet hut is closed off but an “Encanto” sign and posters now hang outside of it.

RUMOR:

Walt Disney World Planning to Charge Hotel Guests for Daily Housekeeping Services

As of March 2022, the following resort hotels have resumed their daily or regularly scheduled housekeeping services:
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Boardwalk Resort
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
  • Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

As you might notice, the above does not include anything below a Deluxe Resort level or Disney Vacation Club Resort.

There is still a shortage of housekeeping cast members and there has been a constant slew of job fairs to try to fill the vacant positions. According to people we spoke to who attended a job fair this weekend, they were told by a Disney recruiter that “Disney is moving towards room service being offered every other day as the standard.” The recruiter went on to state that guests who want the additional, daily housekeeping service could pay to add it. This is something that is already offered to Disney Vacation Club members staying in villa accommodations.

Given the list above, it is assumed that the Deluxe Resort guests will receive daily housekeeping services included with their stay, but again, that is purely speculation at this point based solely on it already having returned to those hotels. Anything below this level would likely be subject to the daily charge.

There is legitimately no point to staying on property with all the nickel and dimeing they do and especially without magical express?

Construction Walls Removed from East Side of Spaceship Earth as Moana – Journey of Water Consumes West Side

As EPCOT’s icon, Spaceship Earth stands steadfast at the front of the park – even as everything around it changes. Recently, Disney removed some construction walls from the east overflow queue area. However, the Moana – Journey of Water construction side has expanded, even more, consuming the west exit to Spaceship Earth. Here’s a look around the area, which also includes a broken standby wait time sign for whatever reason.

Probably no one else will get the reference, but sorry, I had to, I'm a geek.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air.

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

I thought the exact same thing. It also sounds like a copy and paste of Zootopia, but with an Avatar: Last Airbender twist.

I dunno - it doesn't really sound like anything yet. The basic premise is a little liek Zootopia, but there's no reason to think the story will be anywhere close to the same. Also, the four elements, Earth, Wind, Fire, & Water, way, way, way predate The Last Airbender - it has no exclusive claim on that.

Well sure, in literature they tell us there's 7 basic plot lines from which all stories grow so there's bound to be resemblances wherever you look. But the wording was very close to how Avatar was presented and the art looks very similar to Zootopia. Does that mean the story once completed will resemble either source? No, but the threat is there if they aren't careful because that's the comparisons that's most obvious.

I’m more surprised that elemental isn’t a Pete Doctor joint than I am at what it does/doesn’t resemble

But in Avatar there was a great war between the factions, etc. There is no mention of that here. I think people hear Earth, Air, Water, Fire and thing Airbendr, but they may as well think Captain Planet!

Pete is now creative head of Pixar but is no longer directing films first hand.
