Disney has lost another family - do they care?

Hmmmm Fair enough, Smitch425! This would work if you get to your 1st park at opening. I think if Disney would just forget about the tiering, and add at least one more pass it wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe they will in the future.

Yes. I think there are possibilities with the new system. I liked certain aspects of it in Oct. But if they would just tweak it a little, it could be a lot better. The tiers are ridiculous and I will miss my old flexibility, but I could learn to get used to the positive parts of it with just a few changes.

I wonder why anyone would bother with park hoppers anymore? You only get fast passes in one park, and by the time you would usually hop over it will be impossible to ride anything due to crowds. I am another who is disappointed with this new system. I would be willing to pay extra for the old fast pass system!

We went to one park early and rode without FP and then hopped to the park where we had booked our FP+

Disney believes that if guest plan their FPs before they leave home they will be less likely to leave Disney property. Not talking about changing parks. Disney has stated that they want guest locked into the parks before they ever leave home. Once a family purchases tickets and spent the time to prebook their FP+s then it is a safe bet they will be in a Disney park that day and not leaving their property. They are trying to keep people on Disney property.

The FPs have nothing to do with "locking you in." If you purchase a 6 day pass before you head to Orlando, the easy money says you're spending 6 days in Disney parks. Your tickets (which expire 14 days after the first use unless you spring for the No Expiration option) lock you in. They always did. Unless you didn't use days and lost them. I still fail to see how changing the FP system forces you to go to Disney parks or locks you in to going to Disney parks when you're in Orlando.

And that's your argument when you are now blasting Disney's new rules.

For the record I agree that "abuser" and extreme user are not the same. But it's just funny that the same people blasting Disney's rules are citing them in their defense.

Yes, I have concerns about how the current FP+ rules will affect my touring, but I haven't said anything about the people who enjoy FP+. The person I responded to was making a judgmental comment on those who used FP- according to the rules. I have made no such negative comments about those who are using FP+ in the same manner.

I'm very happy for those who like FP+ and have said so repeatedly.

Ending towering will create chaos!!! What part of this is hard? Limited number of People can ride TSMM and RNRC each day, same with Soarin and TT. End tiering and there won't be enough FP to go around or rides will become FP only. They must build more E rides in order to end Tiering. It's a physics problem, not a Disney doesn't like me so they won't give me what I want problem.

In that case, there should be very few threads on the boards - on any topic. I say this with respect, but I'm curious about why you would have to open a thread to criticize it? I know it sounds snarky and I'm sorry for that. I'm just frustrated by the attacks on the posters who don't like this system. I don't find myself opening supportive fp threads to bash the people who love the new system .

I totally agree with this. When someone opens a thread about how great FP+ is I generally either skip it or say something selectively positive like, "I'm glad you had a great trip!" or "So glad things went smoothly for you". I feel it should be okay to agree with someone who has a thread that isn't so crazy about FP+ because I won't be raining on their parade.

And I agree with this also. I don't even post much in the threads where posters talking about not like it. But it really bugs me to see someone trying to make a poster feeling silly for their dislike after admitting they travel to Disney several times a year, travel during low seasons and hardly ever pulled paper FPs when they toured anyway. And they say "what is the big deal?". It is easy to not to be concerned when you are able to touring that way. We all are not able to do those things.

But this is my main problem with the new system. In the past, I could get fp's for both Soarin' and TT. And for TSM and RNRC. Without chaos. But I haven't hear a Disney doesn't like me argument yet .

To honestly answer your title post. Does Disney care they lost you? No not really. They'll pick,up another herd of families this year. It's a shame Disney is alienating so many former lovers of their parks though. I'm keeping an open mind about my May trip and sept trip. We did mb last year and loved it. We will see what this year brings.

Obviously you were abusing the system.and taking away from others. ;)

Just so you understand, I did not say that FP+ is locking guest into Disney parks. Disney has stated in the few press released that that was the goal of the new system. It matter not if I think that or not. Disney has said that is their goal.

The statement seems to point to off-site guest that may not purchase their tickets until the arrive at the resort because there has never been a reason to. Once they arrive in Orlando, they are open to all the cool ads the other parks have out there. At that moment, those people could change their mind and shorten their Disney trip to check out the new rides at the other parks. If that family already has their money tied up in Disney tickets and prebooked FP+s, you can bet they will be using them and not checking out those other parks.

"FP- Abusers"

I guess if I had to define it, I'd say it's "ppl who take more than their share, simply because they can or feel they deserve more."

Unless you drop this FP "abuser" crap, I'm not going to take a single one of your posts seriously. I used FP within the "rules", and did so with Disney's blessing. It is not my problem that you chose to use it not as much, and I don't feel guilty one whit that I used it more. I took more than my "fair share" not because I could or because I deserved more, but because WDW said I could and I wanted to. I didn't need your approval to go on ahead with that plan thankyouverymuch.

For cryin' out loud.

:thumbsup2 my thoughts exactly

I was referring to the "do they care?" In the title of the thread, which insinuates disney doesn't care about their consumers, which is one of the most untrue statements ever made. Consumers generate $, and money makes shareholders happy.

I've gotten Paper FPs for both as well on the old system, but more often not been able to get one for Soarin or TSMM because I missed rope drop by 20 or 30 min. The positives out weigh the negatives IMO, and I think in 5 years 95% of people will laugh about the old days and how much better it is now that you don't have to run all over the park grabbing fastpasses to use later in the day. But there will be a few people who will never like it. Just like there are still people who don't like cars or planes. It doesn't make them good people or bad people. It just makes them resistant to change.

For me the new system has enough perks that I can adapt my touring style to it just fine. I like to park hop so I was usually getting only 2 to 3 tickets per day on the old system as it rewarded people who stayed in 1 park all day much more than hoppers. I'm also looking forward to the reduced standby time and greater flexibility when I come back during busier times this summer.

Agree to disagree I guess.

While we may not agree, I respect this respectful post. Its refreshing. Why do you think SB lines will be reduced? I found the opposite to be true in October.

I'm selfish that way ::yes::.

I'm right there with ya! Although I don't really think using the system as it was allowed to be used is selfish. I feel we a had the same opportunity to get however many we could..some did....some didn't.
