Then don't read them???

The noise is fine with me. It generally comes from people who have made useful contributions to this thread.

I try not to, but occasionally there is also informative information contained within them. Maybe we need a separate thread for the "Target cancelled my order again" stuff :P (KIDDING! Don't hang me.)

Why oh why does Target have to make their card # and access codes sooooooo small? Seriously, there's a large space there and the writing is tiny..........I swear, they're screwing with us. I just got one of those cards that was a mess when I tried to remove the silver stuff to access the card #. I used a little Dawn dish detergent and it was miraculous! Still small, but clear as day at least. That's my newbie contribution :rolleyes1

Thank you @eapool for suggesting cashing out ebucks for ebay GC's rather than sitting on it waiting for a promo. I have $1000 in ebucks and it's kind of stressing me out just sitting there. I worry ebay will just take them away, or I will somehow 'lose' them and they won't be there if and when a promo does arrive. I don't mind losing any cash back by converting into ebay. So, thank you for sharing!

I have been gone all day and you guys have been having fun! I enjoyed getting caught up and reading all the comments about the 'olden' days with microfiche, 8 tracks and rotary phones. Enjoyed reading through all the 'noise'...now I know who is old and who isn't...lol!

I cashed in my ebucks for two Disney cards and one Target card from individuals, and saved $30 plus made the regular ebucks. (And bought a few things I needed.)I have Disney already applied to my vacation. I am so bored with no churning to do. :) We moved last week and could not keep thinking about missing any offers. Wish I would have thought to get eBay gift cards.

I couldn't hold out any longer...I used my $222.27 in eBucks and bought a $100 Hyatt gift card (since we are staying at the Orlando airport Hyatt), a $100 Target card and a $25 eBay card. I earned $4 in eBucks and the Hyatt card is a digital card so I only paid the $2.99 shipping for the Target card. It probably wasn't the best use of the funds, but now I have my hotel night covered. The $100 gift card will be combined with my $100 travel credit from AMEX and I will only have to pay the $19.xx remaining:goodvibes. I still have $750 eBay cards, plus the $25 I just ordered, to churn if an eBucks promo come out.

You know you don't have to scratch off the silver to read the Card #, right? The Card # is the last 15 digits of the large number by the barcode. You only have to get the 8-digit security code from under the silver.

I know that some of you who are reluctant to convert your ebay bucks to ebay GCs. I looked at it this way: I may not make anything on this churn (unless SB credits me for the purchase - highly unlikely but worth taking a shot), but it didn't cost me anything either. The advantage to me is that I can now wait it out for an ebucks offer without worrying about my ebay bucks expiring or using those ebay bucks on a regular ebay bucks purchase that would not net me as much just for the purpose of saving those ebay bucks from expiring.

This. You can literally use the ebay gift cards the second they arrive in your email, so you don't really lose anything. At least that is how I look at it. Also, there has been some speculation that IF ebay does offer an ebay buck bonus during the first month of the quarter, you are less likely to be targeted if you have ebay bucks left. So I always convert them just in case there is a targeted bonus.

I've heard a few people talk about having difficulty getting the silver off? I've never experienced that. It has always come off easily - I just use a corner of another card and scratch it off :confused3 Clear as can be.

Amazon is now allowing you to use amazon gift cards to buy gift cards. I haven't found a good portal for cashback on amazon, but I did use my 3% payout bonus from topcashback to get a gamestop giftcard to add to my $$. I did a test on it yesterday on $25. Once I recieved the $25 gift card from topcashback, I bought a gamestop gift card, took that to the local gamestop and bought an ebay gift card. Doesn't add a lot to the pot, but it is a fairly simple way to add your topcashback payouts to the mix. I know you can always payout to paypal, but this gets you a 3% bonus on your topcashback $$. This should work with any other method of getting an amazon gift card at a discount.

I clicked in the down arrow at the top but did not see a way to deselect the PayPal balance.

If you have a balance in your Paypal account, it forces you to use it before any other payment method. To avoid this, I transfer any balance that I have to my checking account so that I can use my credit card and get my cash back rewards.

Ahh. Good idea!

I have a business PayPal and usually have money in my account. I have never had it take it as it is not churning money. I have both my business and personal checking accounts linked. If I need to add $ to my gift cards or eBay bucks for a purchade, I have had no problem selecting my personal account and leave PP balance. Maybe personal is different?

Yes, personal is different. It forces you to use the balance if you have one available before it will apply any other payment method.

I added on a magnifying glass with my GC order through Target and got eBates for the order.::yes::

Interesting about the "speculation". I think I will make a purchase and buy ebay GC's with the rest, hopefully that will help insure that I get the next offer. Thanks

Knock it off, kid! Or I'll have to smack you upside the head with an 8-track tape! (yeah, Google that, too!)

Before those 8 tracks came out we actually had a 4 track!!! The player looked like a plastic toaster for one slice.

Ahh, lol, and some of us didn't have enough time to respond that we were around for all of those things, lol, so maybe you're thinking I'm younger, lol!

couldnt we also use our ebay bucks to buy gamestop gift cards now at least get 2% then buy ebay giftcards in store and then wait for first promo......i think thats what ill do this weekend.
As I was trying to quickly read thru the thread before work this afternoon, and saw the converting ebucks to Ebay cards, I was wondering this, as well! And I think some did do this.

And, not to get caught with a card I couldn't use, I called my local Gamestop tonight. I called and said I had a large GS gc I wanted to use, but wasn't sure what I could use it on. He said, Oh, you can use it on anything in the store that we sell. So, I asked what they sell there besides games. He said games, game equipment, movies, all sorts of gift cards, (and some other stuff I don't remember). So, I said that's great, thank you, and he said yep, you're welcome, anything we sell can be paid for with the GS gc, so come on in. He was very friendly!
So for now, my GS is good to go, which I'm happy about! But, then I tried to go buy that PPDG gc I had said I had, to spend my Ebucks and it won't let me buy any at all! I click proceed to checkout and it says up at the top 'Something went wrong. Please try to checkout again". And the top right side, it says Error Codes: 70245 70358 TRANSACTION_REFUSED. Ugh! No idea why it's doing that, anyone else have this problem? I even tried to go to a new browser and that didn't help. I haven't bought the GS cards on my account before. I've never had any problem buying any gc's for these promos we've been doing. For that last promo, I did a few GS churns but I was using my DD25's account. I am going to try to go in and use her ebucks there and see how that goes later.

I also just tried on my account to buy the EBay digital gc from PPDG and it does the same thing! I can't imagine what's up! I really don't wanna have to call and stir anything up. Anyone have this happen at all?

You mean you aren't...younger?? I was teasing. I was around for all that too though I think 8 tracks were on there way out when I was even very little. I very much remember microfiche. Used it all through college, as well as a card catalog. And i loved a rotary phone. You guys remember the cool sound it made when the rotary dial was turning? I heard today on the radio how kids of this generation are basically deficient in 'phone manners'. They do not know how to answer a phone properly or take a message when someone isn't able to come to the phone. Sad!!

With all this talk about possibly not getting the next promo with eBay bucks still in your account, I decided to do the same thing so at least I'd get the points for another $25 reward.

I had no issues with buying a GS GC with PPDG 45 mins ago, but I only had $100 in eBay bucks as I just started my churning journey. It might be based on the $$$ you're buying.

I would call PayPal and ask if there's anything on your account restricting you from buying GC.
