Disney Gift Card Deals

I just wanted to update everybody. I know there's been some concern about buying Disney gift cards at target with target gift cards. I was there yesterday I had 2 $100 target gift cards that I turned into 2 $100 Disney gift cards. The cashier didn't think she could do it but once she scanned the gift cards they were excepted so if you run into problems just have them scanned the gift cards and the target system will except them.

I did it at self checkout yesterday as well.

I have to ask I was looking into BJ's for the first time and I see the $100 Disney cards are $194.99 doesn't that make the target 5% off a better deal? or am I missing another discount in there that you can get?

Um... typo? If you're paying $194.99 for a $100 gift card I guarantee it's a bad deal ;)

I paid $94.99 for a $100 Disney card through BJs saving $5.01. Same purchase at Target with my red card would be 5% off of $100 = $5. Save a penny more by going through BJs. Now, at BJs you can pay with a credit card other than Targets so you get additional cash/points back on the final purchase price from your credit card company.

Why NOT BJs? Because if you get a deal on Target gift cards that is better than your cashback from your credit card + 5% (which you would save at either location but can't because in this scenario because you'll pay with gift cards) then buy via Target.

Also, BJs sells multiple denominations of Disney GCs so BE CAREFUL as some of those don't math-out to that 5% discount.

Bummer! Ah well, it'll be nice to get $10 off new release movies anyway. We've pretty much depleted all the good Disney blu-rays that are sub-$20 at this point anyway. :)

You can scan receipts if you forget at checkout. I find this much easier to do if there are no Cartwheel coupons I'm using.

I'm thinking 7 days, but I'm not certain. I imagine it's somewhere in the fine print of the program.
Where do you scan the receipt if you forget to scan the barcode (I've done it once or twice when I didn't have any cartwheel coupon items)

It's the same place you scan to search for offers in Cartwheel. The screen says:
"Center the product barcode to find offers.
OR
Scan your receipt to earn points."

Instead of searching for offers through keywords, just click on the barcode symbol next to the search box.

Additionally, if you have Target gift cards, you can load them onto the Target app and login with your same Cartwheel credentials, and using them through the Target app will automatically apply your perk points.

Hi everyone,
I want to place an order for $1500 in Disney Cards from BJ's to max out my Discover It 5% bonus - will I have any problems placing an order that large with BJ's?

I did exactly this in both the first and second quarter. I had no problem ordering all at once.

Cartwheel Perks is only in select markets right now. I am in Kansas City and we do not seem to have them yet.

Is there a way to see how much you've spent in a category so far on Discover's website? I used my Discover at Sam's club and am thinking of doing the Bfs but not sure what I've spent so far.

I had a few ordered cancelled from BJs when trying to order through ebates. I finally just called the customer service number and placed the order over the phone! Same price worked great.

You get them at BJ's when you can get an additional 5x back fro.m Discover.

Not a problem at all. Not an issue with ebates either for an extra 1%.

Gosh I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't find it! Glad I'm not going crazy because I already am!:joker:

The only thing I know of to do is to click on "current statement," then "cash back bonus earned." Thats the only detail I can find on Discover. I wish I could find a way to see what I'm earning down to the transaction level. I find myself simply adding up my transactions in a spreadsheet to keep track - and then trying to tie it back to statement totals after my statement closes. If anyone knows of a better way, please post!

Why not just look at your statement and see how much you spent at Sam's?

Yesterday I ordered $100 gift cards from BJs through Mr. Rebates. The gift cards were $94.99 and I have pending $$ in my Mr. Rebates of $2.85 for each card I bought. $100 gift card for $92.14!! Plus I'm getting rewards on my Disney Visa for the $94.99. I have the Disney Premier Visa but I think I only get 1% at BJs unless they count it as a grocery store. Anyway that"s another $0.95. I think I will order another 10 $100 cards

About a week ago someone reported getting 5% Discover cash back on a gift card purchase at Sam's Club and an additional 5% cash back by shopping through the Discover Deals shopping portal. Has anyone else had a similar experience? (The fine print says that Discover Deals excludes gift cards, but the poster said it worked.)
