My review:
I had read LOTS of poor reviews of this place. Everything from "it didn't move to I got sick from the movement to characters were dirty, to cold bland food.... etc etc etc. I went in with low expectations.
I was REALLY SURPRISED!!!
The scenery I LOVED. Living with the Land is one of my favorite rides in all WDW. I really enjoyed the "behind the scenes" views. The characters were minimal, but they were clean, and interaction was GREAT!
The food... the food... ohhh. I have to admit I was in HEAVEN with the food. The Homestyle Potato Casserole was the ONLY Disney meal I have EVER asked for the recipe from. We tried making it at home a couple times, and we couldn't even get close. It was delicious. Maybe we just had a good date, but EVERYTHING was perfect! AAMOF, the food was better than the dessert!!!
The meat was perfect too. It was ALL really good. Its a definite must do again.![]()

The one thing I will point out is that the food here is all grown/raised on property (except for the meat), or so I'm told.
The food at The Garden Grill just tasted so healthy and lite. It was great after a lot of non-healthy foods we had consumed that trip. If your a health nut (or not) you'll especially like TGG.
I rarely ever see my DH run for anything. As soon as we arrive in Epcot, he RUNS to the Fish n' Chips stand!![]()
I'm sure my dh will do the same thing - we LOVE LOVE LOVE proper English fish & chips! I soo hope that meal is authentically EnglishI also hope the food in the France pavilion is authentic - otherwise, I'm going to have a very disappointed family on my hands (me included)!

Hey, maybe your dh and my dh can race for the fish & chips? That would be entertaining, I'm sure![]()
We'll be dining here for the first time. I'm really looking forward to this meal since my boys love the Land boat ride.
I've heard that they recently changed the menu and switched the turkey with chicken. Anyone know if this is a permanent change?
Can you buy the fudge with snack credits on the ddp?I don't mind repeats either, especially when they're pictures of the beautiful food from California Grill.
What kind of fudge is in the box, and how much did the box cost? I think I remember buying a box of six years ago, and it was only around $12, is that still about what it costs?
Those sure are good pictures of the ginger cake and fruit tart!

Taco Salad at El Pirata y el Perico...
I nearly fell out of my chair. Darn! You beat me to it!!!!Tex-Mex at it's finest!
You forgot about extreme home, strudel techniques, and marathons to the fish stand.Wow--this thread went from lots of pics of food to how to get out of debt and who knows more about mexican food!
Is anyone else booking their ADRS from this thread???![]()

We have more from our latest trip, but still need to upload them...more to come later on...
As far as who knows the most about food... I'm putting my bet in Apostolic. I love the way he describes food. You can hear the passion in every word!
So what kind of restaurant do you own Apostolic?
Oh, and congrats on the new addition!
WOW! So you are saying you know a little about food huh?????Thanks for the compliment SelfEmployedDebtFree! For me food is a passion that has blossomed into a career.....I love everything about food: the history, the culture, the science, the artistry, the emotion associated with designing the perfect meal. Yeah, food has a way of getting my adrenaline pumping.
As for my restaurant.........a friend and I are currently in the development stages of a new concept. We are planning an Italian restaurant catering to families who are budget conscience but who also appreciated fresh ingredients, authentic Italian flavor, and a comfortable atmosphere. We will offer fresh baked Italian breads and pastries, fresh pastas served family style, and house made desserts. I have owned other places in the past which have covered things from simple pub style dining to wonderful French cuisine.
In the past year, I ended my tenure as an Executive Chef with a catering company who holds accounts at hundreds of museums, theme parks, country clubs and sports arenas nationally. I worked as the Exec. Chef for the account they ran in Charleston, WV. The two entities could not come to terms on a new contract so my company packed up and went back to New York..........my only option at that time was to move my family to NYC, but we are tied to WV (family, church, friends) so we choose to stay here.
Hope that info answers the questions my friend!!
