Disney Dream 8th January 2012

I still had to wait for the kids to scatter before i could open it! Still, I am so anxious and excited to find our room ... This VGT thing has me on the edge of my seat ! I always liked choosing my cabin but this is darn exciting.

We did the GTY waiting game a few years ago. It was stressful and exciting at the same time. Sending pixie dust your way for an upgrade!:goodvibes

We are also waiting for our room assignment. We got a VGT a couple weeks ago...The waiting is much harder than I thought! I am checking 2-3 times a day hoping for a room assignment, even knowing it is usually not until 1-2 weeks prior to sailing. Hope the holidays ramping up will keep me diverted for a while!

Hi all. I was thinking of a fun idea for the people doing the FE exchange or at least an option. We all love our pets and if we knew what types of pets each person had, could give a give to take home to the pets. After all they can't come on the cruise with us but I know my dog loves when I come home from a trip... Loves me more when he sees he has presents lol :rotfl2::thumbsup2:rotfl2:
We will see what we can dig up for Mushu :)

We just lost our lovely Yorkie and my best friend Sofie :littleangel: at 12 years old(3 lbs) on 3rd December to an infection which weakened her heart. We still have 2 wonderful furry babies. Mitzi, 9 lb Yorkie-Pom traditional Black and Tan, 18 months going in for knee surgery on 27 January 2012, just after we get back from our Disney Sammwich, AKL/Dream Cruise/POR DxDP. This Momma is really nervous...but she needs the surgery or the knee joint will start locking on her...and the vet cautioned us she'd drag it around. Husband thinks we should nickname her Tipsy...instead of Mitzi...but she's my baby and I'd do anything for my furry babies. Then we also have a 9lb Chihuahua named Walter Disney...5 years old, black and white, short hair. My babies love anything they can eat and both will wear doggy clothes. They do both hate anything that goes on their heads. Chihuahua shivers all the time and Mitzi has been wearing clothes since she came home at 8 weeks old. Walter will not play with any toys...but Mitzi will play with anything fuzzy or squeeky. She's kind of a toy addict...and buries them in her bed to hide from her brother. She doesn't seem to realize that he could care less. Furry baby treats are a great idea for me...because I miss my furry ones when I am gone on my trips. Every evening when I'm sitting in my chair reading or watching tv...they sit on my lap...and get petted and hugged. I will miss my little Sofie :littleangel: forever...but I just know that she is looking down on us happy and waiting for us to join her. :cloud9:

Is anyone else surprising someone with this cruise? We are surprising the kids - and I was going to do it Christmas morning but now was thinking it would be kind of fun to use the last day on their advent calendar (Christmas eve) as a clue to begin a scavenger hunt for hints that lead to the cruise ... can't decide between that and just wrapping up a dcl pirate t shirt and giving as a christmas gift

The scavenger hunt sounds like fun to me!

We have our supplies purchased- so are fully ready to join the FE if you'll have us......anyone?

We have not started - so it is fine with us if you join in.

Our cruise docs and luggage tags came today!
It is a small thing but tangible evidence that we are getting close!! I have a feeling this month is going to fly by.

We also found ours in our held mail from our DL trip.

Sorry to hear of your loss, but glad you have other furry babies to keep you company. Our dogs also will not play with anything, and as malamutes, they sure do not need clothing :lmao: but they love ANYTHING edible!

Thanks Lynn.

Is OrlandotheBeagle keeping the FE list up to date? I need to confirm my final counts...to make sure I have enough.

If we could also have the Furry Babies count...that would be great!

We know you will miss you litlle Sophie as will her four footed friends. :littleangel: We are sorry for your loss. Spend a little extra time with Mitzi and Walter

We, also, would like to see the first page a little more organized! My 1st idea for FE gifts fell through, so I'm scrambling to finish before the holidays hit!!! I'd hate to leave anyone out (even the pooches!)

So sorry for your loss, At times like this which you are experiencing, I take solace in reading and believing in the Rainbow Bridge.

If someone is making a count of furry companions, we (Scott and I) have 2 Malamutes, Kali (short for Kahiltna) and Taiya. I would also like to see a list of them, so that I can be saved the work of making my own :lmao:.

My husband and i will be on this cruise, our very first cruise, well . . . first vacation ever. We have a small farm, so it's hard to get away, even for a few hours in the evening. Our pet sitter will be our biggest expense, but she is great so that is comforting.

We're traveling with two of my sisters, one sister's husband, his neice and boyfriend, plus a family friend. My husband and i are in room 8083. i've been buying all kinds of cute gazingas to put in fish extenders. We don't want any reciprocation. It will just be a blast distributing small gifts for other disboard members, especially the children.

Cheeser, i am so sorry to hear about your beloved Sophie. It is so hard losing a furry child. We recently lost one of our beloved cats, Sam. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, and bravely held on for two months. We finally let him go over the Rainbow Bridge on November 25th. It was so hard, but he was suffering so much. He took a part of my heart with him, and i look forward to seeing him again someday. Hopefully this cruise will provide you some rest and comfort.

Anyhow, looking forward to our vacation. :)

Hello!!!
I am so excited and cant believe how much time has passed...I book this cruise in Jan onboard the dream :)
Will you have any children with you? I am new to the whole FE what kinds of gifts did you get?

I do not see anything on here about the fish hangers. Is there anyone on here interested in doing this? Friends who have gone on many more of the Disney Cruises have talked so much about them I would like to if there is an interest.

Hello!! I would love to participate...did you find any info? Do you have children cruising?

Our 2 cabins share a yellow lab named IDA.

I am getting nervous about this FE. . . we are travelling from Canada and have several days at WDW 1st . . . how many gifts am I bringing???

I am not the official spokesperson for fish extenders - but - for those who are asking questions - people get whatever they feel comfortable with, so folks will put a lot of work into something homemade, others will do something simple, we have received anything from candy to souvenirs from hometowns to postcards...the list goes on and on. Some folks will bring one thing per stateroom, others will bring something for each person on the list. Basically, this should be fun, do not stress over it, bring what you feel comfortable with. I have not checked the first page lately to see if the lists have been updated, I have been updating my list from posts. Last time I checked, I did notice we were missing some stateroom numbers. All might want to check that list and post any updates.

Happy Winter Solstice to all! Yeah to longer days!
