We will be at WDW for 4 nights, and was looking into the dining package. (2 adults one very pickey three year old!) I have done extensive, and I mean extensive reaserch to see if it is worth my dollar. Comparing menus and planing out my strategy!

Now here are my questions:

1. Who has used this, and when you are "paying" your bill at the resturant what is the process? :confused3
2. Do you tear off tickets?
3. Do they know if you are using a counter service verses a sit down ticket? :sad2:

Please help :teeth:

We have used the MYW gold plan because we are golfers and are empty nesters so we find that this a fabulous deal for us. First off everything is done right from your "card" which is also your room key and in some (most?) cases your pass into the parks too. Everything at Disney is online so they know exactly where and what type of dining you are doing. Just FYI and I don't know if you can do this anymore so hopefully someone can clarify-When our kids were young we never put them on a dining package, we paid for them as we went-we found it to be cheaper because they were picky too and didn't eat much. But we took a dining package. It has always worked out to our adavantge.

The dining package has to be booked for everyone on the reservation. So if kids are sharing a room then you and they must all get pkg. If however you have 2 sep rooms, w/ 2 sep res. then one room can have dining one not.

Everything is encoded on your room key. When you are at a restaurant simply tell your server that you have the dining plan and will be using "x number of" meals. They will then swipe your card at the end- just like a credit card and deduct the proper number of meals. You then can sign for any meals you chose to pay for- or for any extras not covered by the plan (alchol, special drinks). Similarly when you get a counter meal just order and say - please use X counter service meals and they will deduct, then you pay or charge the balance. Very simple.

We used the dining plan and just loved it. It is only $10.00 a day for your three year old child. If you eat at a character sit down meal there are a lot of choices for your family. It is very easy to use it you eat together you only have to use one card. You can check at your resort's service desk for a print out of what is used on your plan each day to check if everything is correct. We ate our sit down meals at buffets which gave everyone (9 people in our group) a choice. The counter meals were easy to use too. The people at our resort (PopCentury)would be sure we got everything that we were suppose to get with out counter option. We saved over $150.00 to $200.00 per day using the dining plan. Enjoy!
