My friend and I our taking our DDs, age 9, (celebrating both their b-days while there) :earsgirl: to Disney October 4-7 for MNSSHP on October 6th. The girls don't know about the trip. We don't plan on telling them until we reach Florida. We're driving down from NC.

I'm making tee shirts using iron on tranfers with mother/ daughter Disney chracters.
I'm making tee shirts that have only the mother on the front for us moms and only the daughter on the front for the girls and then on the back the 2 together with "Mother & Daughter Disney World Trip 2005" I have Lady and one of her girl puppies and Ariel and Melody for me and my DD and Pedita and one of her girl puppies and the Incredibles Mom and daughter (don't know the names) for my friend and her DD. For the third day tee shirts will have the Princesses (Belle, Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White) separately and then I have a picture of them all together for the back again they will say "Mother and Daughter Disney World Trip 2005."

Dawn-Marie ~ Your shirts sound wonderfull! Please post pictures when you're done. I would love to make Disney Princess shirts, but I don't have any girls and my 9 yo son wouldn't wear them. :rotfl2:

Here are ours. The back had everyone's first name and 2005.

Hey, eeyoure and foxfire, glad to be any help.
It should say fiber reactor for the dye. If it doesn't that will still work, just follow the directions that come in the box.

Someone said that their MM head looked funny? I did the drawing class at MGM and the CM said that MM's ears were not perfect circles. They are a little flatten, a cross between a circle and an oval. That may help.

Since I have five months to go before the big WDW December trip and need something Disney to do :cool1: , I've been working on some t-shirt ideas that were inspired by this thread. This is the first time I've tried to post a photo, so I hope it works. You could put photos of your family in the rocket windows.

I also made these hanging signs to put in the car and the resort window. I am having a great time! Having something like this to do with my time helps me cut down on obsessive park commando planning! ;) Ah, it's the new relaxed me!

I tried the tied dye this weekend, and it worked!!!!

The Mickey in front looks better than the Mickey on the back, but it's a practice t-shirt. I used the kit from Wal-Mart and was very satisfied with it, just be sure to buy extra rubber bands. I used the vibrant color kit, and used the red and blue dye on a white ringer t made by hanes that is 100% cotton. I am very satisfied with the shirts and very satisfied with the kit. I let the dye sit in the shirt for 6 hours and like the bright shades of the colors.

My advice is don't be afraid to try it. It is very easy with a kit.

Kelly ~ Please post a picture. I would love to see your shirt! :sunny:

I will as soon as I locate my digital camera--it's MIA. LOL

I made tie-dyed shirts for DS and myself this weekend, I did mine in just red & blue and I love the way it turned out, I did DS's in red/yellow/blue, but I picked up a shirt that was not 100% cotton by mistake and the colors came out too pastel. The red looks pink and he won't wear it now. I have to make another one for him. I put the pastel one on Ebay today, my Ebay name is the same as my name here.

Thanks so much for your post! I've been going back & forth on whether to try that kit from WM. The vibrant color one is the one I want to use, too...so, now that I know it works, I'll get it.

Can you explain exactly how you dyed the Mickey head? I have sort of a vague idea of how it's done but I sure would appreciate step-by-step directions. If you have any other tips, I'd love to know those, also...thanks, again!

We just made Tye Dye Mickey T-shirts last weekend to wear on the 4th of July (not at WDW but here in Nebraska). We'll wear them on our trip next year.

We made 2 kids T-shirts (cotton toddler shirts), 3 adult T-shirts (cotton), & 2 tank tops (cotton & spandex). We used Jacguard Tye Dye Funky Groovy Kit that came with Red, Blue, & Yellow squeeze bottles of dye. They all turned out great, some better than others. It took 2 days.

We sewed the gathering stitch (basting stitch )to form the Mickey heads and pulled it tight which made a pouch. Then accordian folded the shirt and used rubber bands to hold it together. Then squeezed dye, let sit 24 hrs, and ta da!!!!

We read about it on here so thanks for the How To everyone

Here's a picture of my tank top.

Step By Step Mickey

1. Find a Mickey Icon on the computer that you can blow up to the size of a page

2. Cut out Mickey Icon

3. Use a washable Marker and trace Mickey Icon on shirt

4. Use big basting stitches and sew around Mickey Icon

5. Pull the end of the thread into a pouch making sure all of pouch is on outside of shirt

6. Get DH to hold gathered strings tightly while you rubberband the threaded area of pouch

7. Use the instructions on packet to finish project

What do you think?? I need to see what places will be represented then I will finish the flags... for the Saturday night we are at F&W :)

I use The PrintShop version 6 and MS Greetings Workshop version 2.0. I don't know anything about Disney print shop, but I know the Disney Print Studios are for kids and don't do much.

Someone on the DCL Door Magnet thread posted this:
For those of us that are beginners in the Printing business I found a PRINTSHOP 20 ESSENTIALS for 19.99 with a $20 rebate. (So all you are paying for is the cost of shipping. ) I found it at Outpost(dot)com.
This looks like a really good deal.
