I need to go peel potatoes and go to bed for an early a.m. trip to Meijer to pick up those Bratz dolls. I figure I need the turkey in by 6:30 a.m. to be done by noon since it is 22 lbs.

Yeah, somewhat. I'm still coughing a bit but my throat isn't any MORE sore than it was yesterday, so at least it's not likely strep, etc.

I think we'll have a good time. Troy is hysterical, and anytime the three of us (Kyle, myself and Troy) can get together is a fantastic night.

I heard there's going to be a Disney character float in the Macy's parade tomorrow. I've been watching that parade every year since I can remember (and that's a loooonnnnggggg time)!

big difference - there was actually somewhere to go in DC that late - are you in Cincinnati?

No, worse actually We're in Ottawa, Ohio. Have you even heard of it? It's a small town near Lima and Findlay. There are 2 bars, and that's about all It's a cute little town, though I'd never want to live here (in a million years!)

Sometimes we end up just going into town and then coming back here for movies, etc.... but he's a riot!

The party was great and a good time had by all. Here are some photos:

It was a long day and a lot of work, but my kids are so worth it. It is nice to get extended family together. Guests began arriving at around 5 PM and most stayed until around 9 PM. With my family that is a sign that everyone was having a good time. If not they would have ate and ran. I'm tired now, but still winding down.

Gotta say - I love the new color and the new cut. How do you like it? I think its very complimentary. You look like the kids - now I see the resemblence.

Wow. thanks for letting me know. That's a good way to start the Thanksgiving holidays.

And to all of my DDA friends and cohorts, I want to wish you each a blessed and magical day with friends and family. On my list of things to be thankful for is most definitely this wonderful group of friends whom I love very deeply. You are all a tremendous blessing in my life.

I thought this was timely and hilarious (and no it didn't happen to me).

One year at Christmas my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a
trick.

She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my
sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing,
stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the
turkey.

She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven.

When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven
and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit
something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird.

With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia,
you've cooked a pregnant bird!"

At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs.
