Sending lots oflegalslave said:Oh, boy!! We're supposed to leave a week from tomorrow and my daughter's in intensive care. She has diabetes (since she was 10) and went way out of control. She has been under a lot of stress lately, and like a pressure cooker, when it gets to be too much pressure - she blows. Her blood sugar was so high that the machine couldn't measure it. Last night it was down to a little over 200, but this morning she's vomiting again. Usually once she gets an insulin drip and gets hydrated, she bounces right back and would be out of the hospital in a couple of days. We need some pixie dust that she gets under control soon so we can make our trip as planned.

Tinkaroo said:Glynis - congrats on the weight loss and an upcoming trip to WDW! I can't think of 2 better things! I will trade you some advice for touring WDW for your advice for touring DL - I hope to be there next month, and I haven't been since I was 10!![]()
I think the best place to start is here, and then also consider purchasing the Passporter guidebook (www.passporter.com), the Unofficial Guide to WDW guide book, and/or a subscription to Tour Guide Mike (www.tourguidemike.com - if you're interested, I think I could send you a link for $3 off the subscription). All are extremely helpful! And of course, ask away here!

. I took care of my grandmother for the last few years of her life and she was an insulin dependent diabetic so I know how quickly things can go south. I hope she rebounds quickly. One of the men that I work at the Restaurant with just found out that his 4 yr old son has type 1 diabetes. He requires 3 shots a day right now and they are very early in the learning process. Diabetes does not run on either side of their family either.
