Tammi - how's that ironing going?
It's not. Yet. I got my Mickey heads and my TGM stuff laminated though. Now I want to print off some green Mickey heads to go on the shirts.

Tammi -- I hope Alyssa is feeling better and the rest of you don't get her bug :wizard:

Deb - glad your Dad continues to improve :lovestruc

Denise -- hopefully you and Rees are also on the mend

Jennifer -- enjoy the last exams :rotfl:

Deb, so glad to hear that you dad is doing better. :goodvibes

Has the timeline in Beauty and the Beast ever bothered anyone else?

The petal is going to fall from the rose on the Beasts 21st birthday -

but in "Be our Guest" - they sing

for 10 years we've been rusting needing so much more than dusting

Why on earth was the enchantress so concerned with the selfishness of an 11 year old?!?! and how does Beast have a picture of him as an adult prince hanging in the west wing?

Okay - i feel better now that I have voiced my concern

Perhaps the enchantresses spell caused time to stand still for the prince. He wouldn't age until the rose started losing its petals. I don't know. It's just a thought.

It used to bother me quite a bit, too. Then I just figured, hey, if Disney magic can make all kinds of woodland creatures communicate with humans, a little thing like a screwed up timeline isn't going to bother them. Besides, my kids haven't noticed, so I haven't had to come up with a good reason, yet.

Hi everyone,

Boy you guys were busy..I wasn't on all weekend & alot went on here!

Tammi, the kids looked happy in their picture! What a great Christmas present from Santa.

Denise, hope you & Rees are feeling better..saw your new siggie..cool!

Amy/Kevin, love Alyssa's picture with Santa.

Kate, also love the "10 reasons" shirt..I am going to use that one for our Oct 2006 trip..very cute!

We took the kids to see Santa this weekend (will try to post a picture, just have to figure out to make it smaller) I have a 35 mm & then use the scanner to get it into the pc.

We did the "tourist" thing in the city...saw Santa at Macy's & then took the kids to the top of the Empire State Building. It was soooooo cold & windy up there.. :cold: my ears hurt! The kids thought it was fun.

Finally bought my DH :love2: his Christmas present...a complete Hitchcock DVD set. He loves old movies espcially Hitchcock so I ordered it today off Amazon. Done! :cheer2:

Hope everyone is getting over any illnesses & getting the holiday mood! :)

Done with exams! :goodvibes

On to starting t-shirts, planning itineraries (now that everything has changed), etc..... I'll be back if I'm freaking out! :rotfl:

Amy - Steve was so relieved to hear this!! :rotfl:

It seems that recently I have met two couples in our neighborhood that do not drink and so Steve is never comfortable drinking around them -

so he thought I had yet again made friends who do not drink - although this would NEVER affect our socializing - he was happy to find out that you would not be offended if he popped open a beer in front of you all!!!! :rotfl:

Well, we had a busy morning, but are now back and I uploaded my pictures. First we went to Church & RE, then off to our party. Alyssa is still petrified of Santa and wouldn't go near him. I think I am going to still have that same problem in WDW, unless it is a face character. So here is what happened:

Nicholas getting the letter from Santa:

At home with their letters:

Alyssa opening her letter:

Nicholas was unable to completely read it, except for the "small" words, so I read it to him. When we got to the part where it says our plane leaves on Saturday, he said "Can we go today?" I don't know if I will be ready to go on Saturday, let alone today!! Anyway, they are both thrilled to pieces and I think it is going to be a VERY long week filled with anticipation and excitement. They just couldn't believe that Santa was actually going to send them to Disney. I need to nip this though so they don't think it will happen every year. Thanks to all of you for your input and ideas. A huge thanks to Kate as well for her ingenious poems and designs! You all have made this a very special trip for us. I couldn't have done it without you.

They look so happy! Thanks for sharing the moment with us! They are so cute!!! Enjoy your trip.... :cheer2:

Do they contain sugar?! Then of course :rotfl:

Actually, I'm just insanely jealous. Baking is one of my FAVORITE things about the holidays, and I think there's going to be none of it this year! :guilty:

:goodvibes

Jennifer,
Just do belated baking once you get back. Who cares if Christmas might be past. Just bake your holiday goodies you enjoy. If you enjoy baking I would definitely still do it, even if it is in January or some other time during the year. Who cares if other people think it is strange.

I thought I'd go a little OFF topic for a moment and ask a question about designing a t-shirt :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kate - could you use all of your powers and come up with a design, any design, for Skunka and my adult only birthday getaway??? Of course, the more sarcastic the better!!! Thanks!!!! :worship:

Amy - please forgive me for that last smilie.... sometimes ya gotta beg the queen. Its killing me :teeth: but sometimes you've just gotta do what you've gotta do.

how about this?

Denise - Thank you soooo much for the designs. I think they came out great!! The kids are going to be so thrilled and wonder how on earth they turned into princes and princesses. I will tell them "Disney magic."

Thanks to all who commented on them.

More PD requested. Alyssa woke up worse today. Now she has congestion and a fever...101.5. She will miss school today and gymnastics. Too bad too, because they were having a performance at gymnastics. But Disney is more important so she needs to rest up. At least we have a few days yet for her to get over this. Now I have more time to finish my shirts too. Especially if she needs to stay home tomorrow as well.

Kate - I loved your list. That was too cute.

Marti - Has skunka heard his song yet?

Sending Alyssa get well vibes and lots of TLC and PD! Feel better, sweetie!

Kate you were talking about Julia and her acting.Well Erich does this Smigal(sp?) from Lord of the Rings voice, and he can do Stitch. He was doing this thing yesterday with Smigal complaining he gets bad press and then Stitch comes in and said some stuff!! I have to get him on film or tape before his voice changes and he can't do them anymore! :teeth: The boy is crazy...I have no idea WHERE he gets that!! :rolleyes1

Speaking of acting and "hams", today was the music program at school. Well, Davis was on the front row. He was so into it, doing all the motions, really putting on a show. EVERYONE kept stopping me telling me he should go into show business. He was quite the site! Thank goodness I got it all on tape for later in life to embarass him with...

Two exams down, one more to go! And before you ask.... let's just leave it at -- I passed the classes at least :rotfl:

Here studying until 1ish, then DONE! Then it's off to catch up with the last month of planning for Disney.... we leave in less than 48 hours!! :earseek:

Good luck on the last test! Can't believe your trip is here!

99% of the ornaments on our Disney tree came from WDW, DL and Hallmark. :teeth: We do have one homemade ornament and that was a recent gift from a Queen you all know well. princess:

Our traditional tree is put together and Kevin put the lights on it...it might have to stay that way for a day or two though, because cut-out cookies are on my agenda today. Do you like those too, Jennifer? :goodvibes

We leave on Thursday to celebrate Christmas this weekend in Huron, OH, (my parents are divorced, so this will be two celebrations). I still have so much to do! I actually made a list and time is :hourglass

So, you all will be in my thoughts, but my thread time will probably be pretty limited for the next week. :guilty:

Amy :)

Hope you have a safe trip and magical Christmas!

I just reupholstered the seats on my dining room chairs. We finally got rid of all the booster seats and they were nasty. The new seats look great. Now I need to get cleaning. I have the cub scout party here tomorrow night. Glad you guys are being quiet today, I won't get so far behind. I'm sure that everyone is in the same time crunch and trying to pull off holiday miracles.

For anyone wondering my Dad is feeling much better. He still has some vertigo, but not nearly as bad and he is starting to leave the house a little when we are able to drive him. Thanks again for the :grouphug: and :wizard: . You really helped me through a difficult time.

Deb

Deb, I'm so glad he's feeling better. PD and prayers for a speedy and FULL recovery!

Thanks for asking about my husband's job interview. He was there for 2 1/2 hours on Friday, and it was too late in the day to hear from his recruiter what they thought. His recruiter had warned him that a couple of the people were hard to read, so he's not really sure what they thought of him. I'm hopeful we will hear good news today. He has another promising interview today with a different company, so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed. I keep telling him that he should be proud that he is making the cut to get these interviews and second interviews.

Thanks again for the good wishes.

Keeping you in our prayers for GREAT news!
