Disney "Chase" Visa points & cards

I have a question.... We have racked up Many, Many points (close or over 1000) on our Disney Visa & were planning on a Disney cruise. Well, now things have come up on a personal note (jobs possible unstable) and the trip is going to have to be put off or not happening at all now.

Can anyone use those points once I transfer them to a card? or only the Visa cardholder (myself & hubby)???

Not that I want to sell them, but its a thought if rough times are coming my way & they are about to expire.

And another question - once you transfer them to a card they are good for 1 yr? right? So if they expire 12/01/12 & I get them transferred the card then gives me another year to spend them - til 12/01/13?!?

I'm not sure about the expiration. I do know that others can use them. I was the lucky recipient of my friend's mom...her card was about to expire and she gifted me almost $300

I pretty certain though, you can purchase disney gift cards with the rewards card. The gift cards never expire (if you know you'll be going to disney/cruise eventually).

If they are about to expire, your best best is to purchase a Disney gift card with your rewards points. The gift card won't expire, so you can save it for your next trip when things turn around for you.
