I get mad when restaurants bring out the kids food early. Around here, they bring the kids food about 10 minutes before anyone else's. So by the time our dinner arrives, the kids are done eating, and getting bored. We usually request their meals held, and served with ours.

Court... once you get your kitchen table in place, you will know exactly where the island needs to go. I personally like it in the empty pics, only because I am lazy... and would hate to have to keep walking around it! I do wish I had a peninsula, and a spot for bar stools. Unfortuneately, the "flow" of my kitchen doesn't really allow for it. It would limit the walkway that goes to my laundry area/garage door/side door. I am VERY jealous of your laundry room! I have a closet off of the kitchen. I also do not have a garden tub. I do hope to correct that when we add on to the house, though! Will you keep the colors? I really like the den... very warm, and still neutral.

Renee... you may be a tough city chick... but I have at least 5 inches on you! And if I decide to put a little butt into it... you don't have a chance! But if its a war of words... you'll probably win, since I don't speak Yankee! :rotfl:

Funny, sometimes we prefer the kids meals to be out earlier then ours. Not so much my 12 yr old, as he can handle it. If my 2 younger ones are hungry, heaven knows I dont want to listen to the whining of "I am so hungry" any longer then I have too. ;)
When we were on the cruise last yr, they ALWAYS brought the kids food out first. My kids always bring something to entertain themselves so if they have to wait for the adults, they are semi-quiet.

Courtney, love the house. Its so nice moving in and starting over in something new. I am ready to move myself, unfortunately the rest of the family is not LOL...

Hello everyone.... I'm back from my trip with my sister.....lots to tell you but first - THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NO CHATTING - 20 pages!!!! :surfweb: Yikes...:lmao: :lmao:

DM - wonderful photo of you and Brooke..... (tell the kids to watch for the mail)

Magic - I wore my crocs... no problems with them... also used the body glide (the inner thigh) LOVE IT!!! - also if you take your Disney Visa card to the Innovations building on the right when you walk into Epcot - there is a private character greeting just for Disney Visa cardmembers and you will get a free 5x7 photo of you and the characters....you must have your card with you.. Mickey and Pluto were there - we got to spend about 5 minutes alone with them...

tnmomof4 - good luck on your new home....

Mandy - my DD loves Kelly Clarkston... have a great time....

Kari - thanks for the concern over the fires and weather.... more info on that

Courtney - OMG - the house is beautiful.... you all will be so happy there... I have an island in my kitchen and love it...

About tipping... for dining we add extra to the DDP if service was great... service was okaythis past week...for housekeeping - we leave $1/day/person - I do up those little mousekeeping envelopes....

About the trip.....

Arrived Tuesday to hot weather... at least it felt hot as I was coming from Central NY... ME worked like a charm - arrived at the hotel a little over an hour after landing. SSR was a nice resort...a little to spread out for me and the pool is not big enough for all the folks there....

Tuesday night we went to MGM - rode TOT and RRC with my BIL - my DSis is a big chicken and won't ride... my dad hung with her while DBIL and I rode...then we had a nice meal at Mama Melrose - food was good - I had the steak and chocolate something for dessert- service was good - then we went to see FANTASMIC - I love this show :hippie: - makes me smile the entire time:)

Wednesday we went to Animal Kingdom - did all the big rides... Everest, Dino, Kali, the new Nemo show- get in line early for this one - but so worth it..... had lunch at Tusker House - then back to the hotel for a swim.... bugs were out everywhere..... the weather was wonderful - it was overcast - some of it was the clouds and some the smoke from the fires but there was no difficulty breathing and you really could only smell the smoke first thing in the morning...went to Boma at the AKL for dinner - GREAT meal.... early night as we were all tired...

Thursday we went to MK - followed TGMikes touring plan and did all of tomorrow land and fantasy land by 10:30 am.... then hit Frontier land and we were done there by noon - that was with riding Big thunder and splash mtn twice - didn't get wet on splash the first time so we thought we would try it again.... BIL says "lets sit in the front seat" - jerk.... I got all wet!!!! oh well - we went to Harbor House for lunch... and then did a little shopping and back to the hotel to change for the evening..hung at the pool for a while then back to MK - went to Adventure land rode the Jungle - and Pirates... then had dinner at LTT - nice meal - GREAT Characters - not sure if I would go back as I can get the same food at home...:confused3 but had a nice time - went and rode Space Mtn again and then watched Spectro and then Wishes - shopped a little and went back to resort....

the SSR is nice - but they need to do something about those pull out beds - my DSis and DBil had a studio so it had the queen bed and the pull out.... the pull out was AWFUL:sad1: can't say that I am convinced that DVC is the way to go.... priced it all out and we can stay at the SOG for 14 days every year for the next 50 years and be like $25000 ahead of what they paid for DVC membership (including their yearly maintenance fees)....

anyway on Friday we hung out at the hotel in the morning and then went over to DTD for a little shopping - got some cute things for the kids.... had lunch at the hotel and then headed over to Epcot.... rode Soarin and did the Disney Visa card photo thing and then went over to walk the countries... the flower and Garden festival was going on so we stopped frequently for photos - had some really cute things... Dsis took all the photos - after walking around we headed to Coral Reef for our dinner ressies..... I had pre-arranged for the divers in the tank to hold up a banner for my DBil birthday - they sat us down by the tank - the diver knew right where to go and tapped on the window to get our attention and held up the sign - my DBil was so excited:banana:  - great meal here.... thinking of changing from Chef de France for our June trip to this place.... we didn't stay for Illuminaitons but we did ride TT, Mission Space and the big ball ... it was a nice evening

Saturday morning DSis and Dbil were transferring to Coronado Springs - lets just say SSR messed up the moving of the luggage and I was lucky to have the folks at CSR on the phone trying to find mine.... we spent some time at the pool and then I caught the 3pm ME for the long trip home

Overall the trip was nice.... the weather was wonderful - rained one night while we were sleeping - the days were warm but not to bad (except the first day)... the nights were comfortable with shorts and a light sweater.... DDP worked like a charm.... ME was great... BUT I did miss my children.... it was the longest I had ever been away from them (although I talked to them multiple times a day) - my husband and son picked me up at the airport - DS was very sleepy but managed to give me a big hug and carry my luggage - walked in the door to a very clean house:thumbsup2 and to DD who ran up to give me a hug and was very excited to see me:yay:

Had a wonderful Mothers Day - they made breakfast and dinner - we did some yard work and just enjoyed being home!!!!

Welcome back, Wendy!! I'm glad you had such a good time! Glad the smoke wasn't bad for you... the way they talk on the news here, it sounds much worse. They have been advising not going to FL if you have asthma and such, and that the air quality is the worst in the country.

Wendy
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip:thumbsup2 Makes me jealous, I want to be there now:laughing:

Wendy- sorry for all the chatter (If you noticed I have been very quite trying honor your wish ;) ) Glad you had a nice trip

Dana looked great at the church- You must be very proud that she has stuck with somehting for so long, and by the sound of it she loves it:cutie:

Courtney- Love the house:banana: Good luck with:wizard:

Also Scilla is the same way as you- she falls asleep 90% of the time we watch movies at home- so now unless it's a movies she REALLY wants to see, I just rent a movie I want to see knowing she'll be asleep 10 minutes into the movie

Avery still takes a 3 hour nap about 3-4 days a week. I am very spoiled! She will sleep in the carseat, but only in 1/2 hour or so increments. After several broken naps, she gets REAL nasty! She will not sleep in the stroller at all. If anything at all is going on... she will never miss it!
Wow! If Brooke took that long of a nap she'd be up till midnight!

I loved the ecard - too! Very funny...
I know what you mean about "tearing up"... emotional time around here with Dana graduating and all... Today was her last day to sing in the Children's Choir at church - she's the only one that belonged from Kindergarten all the way through to 8th grade - Msgr. gave her a special plaque and a made a lovely presentation at the end of mass.

I'm not sure how many times we need to repeat this, DawnMaree.. is NO ONE PAYING ATTENTION?!?!?! WE most certainly DO NOT have an accent!!! :snooty: ::stomping foot:: :lmao:
So nice pics of Dana and that is wonderful about the plaque! The "openess" of your church reminds me of ours.

I know about that accent thing! Why don't these southerners listen to us. Don't they know about how that there's Italian in these households? Maybe we ought to call our dear friend, Tony Soprano! :lmao:

Alright my friends--- Here's "my" new house (well, praying it will be as of June 6 on closing)

Hope you like it! We LOVE it.... Pictures only show so much!
Great pics Court! I like the "empty" rooms shots better. I do like the home a lot and can't wait to come down and stay with ya'll sometime!

I can't name the number of movies I have seen the first 1/2 of, either. As soon as I get comfortable, I usually fall out. Last night we rented Man of the Year... that one was really good, and i did get through the entire thing! The kids spent the night at my mom's last night with their cousins, and are going to the museum today. They won't be home until after dinner time tonight.

MAGGIED - Welcome back! Thanks for doing the postcard thing. We will be checking the mailbox!!! Glad you had a nice time and thanks for the tip about the Disney Visa card. We have one and that will be cool to get a free pic!

Crazy Kanga - I see that you have joined the Croc exchange! I will have one of them too the same you do. Try to remember to bring it to the AK and we can get some pictures of the 2 crocs together! :thumbsup2

MAGGIED - I am so glad you had a great trip. So from the sounds of it you did not tip any extra on the DDP. And you had no trouble wearing your crocs walking all day. That all is great info. Also about the Disney Visa... I have one too, but we aren't going to Epcot. I wonder if any other parks do this?

Welcome back, Wendy! Sounds like you had a great trip! Good to hear about the crocs and bodyglide - maybe I'll give my crocs another shot using the glide. Also, good tip about Disney Visa pic!

I want to hear more about SSR! Pretty much everything you said were the things I was most worried about: the "spread-outness" (hey, I invented a word!), the pool size, the pull out bed. What section were you in? We'll have a car, so I think that will be a big help. We plan to spend quite a bit of time at the pool, though, and I hate crowded pools! Also, I'll probably get stuck on the pull out! I slept on the pull out bed at the Boardwalk in January though, and I thought it was pretty comfortable, so I'll remain optimistic! :) Of course, these are all small issues, and I'll be at Disney so everything will be all good! :)

We were in Congress Park - the first building when you cross the bridge... the bed was really bad... I ended up taking the cushions from the top of the sofa and putting them on the top of the "matress" so it had some cushioning.... what was so bad was the metal bar that supports the bed was right across your back--- ouch!! ... the pool was nice but it was small... they did have great games every afternoon for the kids though.... and gave away really good prizes... the kids will love it.... and the slide was lots of fun....I think for 2 adults and 2 small children you will be fine in a studio... but I don't see how 4 adults could share a studio.... the counter service rest. was really good though... the meals are big enough for 2 people to share...

Thanks for the info! I requested to be in either Congress Park or the newest section, The Grandstand (which is what I'm really hoping for). Glad to hear the counter service is good, since we'll probably be eating there quite a bit! And the games sound great! I'm getting really, really excited! :woohoo:

Welcome back Wendy. Glad you had a good time. I am excited about the concert, the venue though are being dumb butts. That's a different story though.

We got the rest of our Disney stuff today!!!!

Courtney - I love your new house. It is just beautiful. What do you think you are going to do for decorating? Do you already have things or will you have to buy anything? Like decorations, furniture, curtains... etc. June 6 will be here before you know it!!! I have to wait until May 24th. While I was at Home Depot getting my first stack of LGMHs, I bought some home decorating books. The first thing I need to do is decide what I want to do as far as window coverings. I have no idea what to do. It looks like your house has blinds and some windows have drapes. There are so many things to decide. Anyway... your house looks really nice!!

Thanks so much! Well, we have all of our decorative stuff already from the townhouse we are selling now. I will def. want some new things--- such as a pub table/chairs for the "breakfast area" and possibly a recliner for the living room. We are also getting a flat screen, high def tv... Well, not we... Ryan I should say... And guess where it's going... Yep, you guessed it- right over the fireplace! It's a boys dream-- all of his friends have them, so it's his turn now. Plus he'll get to watch it while he's cooking from the kitchen.

OMGoodness- do you know that May 24 is literally 10 days away!!!!! Oh, you are so close!

Yes, it is very unusual that we get to film the recital when there is a professional videographer. But really most people still purchase the DVD...we only video DD's dance & getting her trophy...keeping the camera on her the entire time of course! Then we have the DVD of the entire show. They love to watch the DVDs of the show so much...we have never regretted purchasing them!!

A funny thing happened with the videographer yesterday...for years DH & I have thougth that he was the guy that filmed our wedding but we weren't sure since the photographer booked him. Well, yesterday I asked him if he does weddings and told him that I thought he did ours almost 16 years ago...he said that he remembered us and then when I brought up the fact that we wore Mickey & Minnie ears when we left the church he really remembered us...he even remembered that no one but us, the photographer & him knew that we were going to wear them!!

I love your new house Courtney!! It is so pretty!! It doesn't look like you will have to do anything to it before you move in...will you?

Oh Red Robin is very good & the bottomless steak fries are great!!

So cool that you get to film the recital and that people are still purchasing the DVDs from the professional-- I guess when it works out that way, then everyone wins!

So funny that he was yall's videographer! That's such a coincidence.

Regarding the house: We do want to put wood floors into the bedrooms and the office before we move in. Carpet kinda grosses me out a bit, so that would make me feel like it were much newer... And now, yall have me craving steak fries!!!! Gotta be good--- gotta fit in my summer clothes for Disney!

Courtney, your house is very pretty and I like those specs.

Thanks WG!

Court... once you get your kitchen table in place, you will know exactly where the island needs to go.

The entire house is that one color, which is good b/c it's neutral and nice. But I think I do want to paint at least the living/kitchen area and maybe the master bedroom... We'll see. I'm not sure. I def. want a neutral color but something really fresh.

Courtney, love the house. Its so nice moving in and starting over in something new. I am ready to move myself, unfortunately the rest of the family is not LOL...

Thanks!!! Luckily Ryan and I are both ready to move... We have just outgrown where we are now, so we're really excited to have more space-- and a YARD!!!!

Wendy--- WELCOME BACK!!!!

Sounds like you had such a blast!!!! OMGoodness, and you get to go back so soon!!!!! Don't even unpack!

Thanks Rags... Wow, me and Scilla are very alike apparently! Can't wait to meet her! Have you told her I'll be stalking her yet?

Great pics Court! I like the "empty" rooms shots better. I do like the home a lot and can't wait to come down and stay with ya'll sometime!

Thanks DM-- Come anytime! I have some spare rooms you can sleep in!

We got the rest of our Disney stuff today!!!!

What does that include Mandy?? I got my magical express stuff Friday... Is the rest the confirmation packet w/ the maps, etc. in it?
