Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

We've been able to use it in combination with using the DDP in the past. Others have reported similar experiences. Servers will keep your DDP separate from other purchases so that you can apply your DDE Discount. Obviously, you cannot get a discount on food/beverages that you are paying for with the DDP.

And the automatically applied tip is 18% which I think is great. We end up saving because normally we would apply a 20% tip and most of the time I don't even bother and keep with the 18%.

Here's a link to All Ears' page on the DDE. It's now called the Tables in Wonderland card. It's pretty awesome. It's $60 every year for AP holders. You can't use it with the DDP or the DDDP, but you can use it when buying a meal OOP at a sitdown restaurant. It's a 20% discount, which basically means your tip is essentially free (assuming you tip 20%). The tip is included. It's a nice feature, especially when you are paying OOP. We no longer use the dining plan since the TIW card gets us a good discount.

Edited to add:
We also do not purchasing the DDP any longer since the DDE gets us a better savings overall....especially given our dining habits. Plus, having a villa and a full kitchen we like taking a break there and making a simple meal rather than eating out all the time. Overall the DDE is a great savings!

Hi Lesley I would love to see laurens gym pics send me the link to your blog

Sure, it's www.livinglifeaslesley.blogspot.com Enjoy! : )
Oh my goodness that looks COLD!!!! I'm sorry, but if I were around there, I'd probably be an icicle. It was just under 70 around my parts today and we were all freezing. Crazy.
:cold:
Hope you get your snow day!
It is soooooooo cold, you should see all the ice we woke up to this morning, I can't get our back porch door open, it's frozen shut and icicles are hanging on everything, the branches keep sinking lower and lower, PLEASE hold up power lines!!!
Lesley

The sleddding looks like so much fun! Mickey looks like he enjoyed the snow day as well. :)

Fingers crossed that you get your snow day tomorrow too!
It was fun, glad you enjoyed the pics.

Aw I love Snow Days. We used to do fun things with mom and I know I'll never forget the memories!
Me too, such fun!

i LOVE the pictures of mickey! so cute. i wish we got actual snow here so we could take our boys out in it. sherman is 11 years old and he's only seen real, fluffy, white snow once. eli's never seen it.
So glad you enjoyed them, snow is such fun for dogs!
great pictures of the snow! Mickey looks awesome out there:cool1:
I know, doesn't he : ) Glad you liked the pics. We are getting pelting with ice and snow now.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your day off! We haven't had any cancellations or delays yet, but we'll see by the morning. I have to be at work by 6 a.m. YUCKY!! We'll see if I can get out of my driveway.:confused3 Mickey looked like he had a blast. My Chessie used to roll in it on his back. Our dogs like to eat it. Did Mickey try and eat the snow?
Good luck with the ice/power thing. I'll pray for you!
We are off again today, an inch of ice and now they are saying 2-3 inches of snow an hour, CRAZY! Oh yes, Mickey ate a TON of snow yesteday.
Lesley
Looks like everyone enjoyed the snow. We had our fair share prior to Christmas, and it hasn't left us yet. No January thaw for us. It has been bitter cold, but we missed the snow. I hope you continued to have power, ice can do so much damage. Good luck with getting off of school tomorrow. I loved how our kids felt like they were on an adventure when school was cancelled.:rotfl2:
We had such fun in the snow, don't know if we'll be able to play today with all of the ice.
Lesley

Lesley, it looks like your snow day was a blast. Mickey is so cute - my "grandpuppy" is a golden, and they are such fabulous dogs with kids. We actually had a snow day before Christmas, about 4 inches at my house which was spectacular since we only get it every 20 years or so! (South Louisiana, you know.) It was not forecast and was just beautiful, and then melted by the next day. Our only problem is no clothing for that weather. We just don't use heavy coats, the kids don't have gloves or warm caps, and their tennies got soggy right away and they got cold feet. I don't think the crocs were very useful either! :rotfl: But they got to have a snowball fight and help make some snow-creatures, so it was a fun experience for them. I hope y'all keep your power and stay warm, and have another good family day. :goodvibes
It was such fun, Goldens are the best. Yes, I bet you don't get much in South Louisiana I'm surprised you guys got that much.
Lesley

Yes, you can use your voucher numbers to purchase it.
I don't have a phone number for them, but you can get information at www.disneyworld.com. It is $60 but you'll want to order it either one month out or closer for a pickup at WDW. When you order it they put an expiry date on it around the time you ordered it. For example, I wanted one for our September 08 trip so I called at the end of August. They must have processed it in September because it has a 10/31/2009 expiry. My point is to not order it too far in advance so you can get two trips out of it. :)
Thanks so much for all the tips, we'll have to decide what we're doing with that one.

Great info, THANKS!!!

Hey Lesley---we got about 7" yesterday, then the ice all night. Megs and I were able to go out and play for quite a bit---made a Snowmoundman because it didn't pack too well, but it does look cute!!! This morning we are getting a BUNCH more snow---it is snowing so hard right now, you can barely see across the street!!! Still have power, and we are hoping that continues throughout the rest of the day!!! Stay warm, and enjoy your snow days!!!

We getting our snow/ice here today! It is nice
having snow days!:cool1: I do in home childcare
and it was all no shows today, thus a free day for
me!!!:thumbsup2 :cheer2: I'm gona take it easy
today:happytv: :coffee: :surfweb: NICE!!

Lesley are you staying in a studio or 1 bedroom? Since we bought into DVC we have been staying in a 1 bedroom but this time we wanted to have a longer trip so we are doing a studio and I am nervous I love the 1 bedroom I don't know how we are going to handle a studio after being spoiled with a 1 bedroom.

Diane, Thanks!!! That is awesome, I think after OHana's we'll head back then and watch from SSR, are you guys there then? If so, we should meet up to watch them!

No problem!:thumbsup2 We will be at the Boardwalk on the 4th! Bryan said you should drive over to the Boardwalk and hang out with us!
:thumbsup2

The boys were so jealous when they saw the pics. of the kids sledding! We keep getting only a dusting or it will snow overnight and then rain and they can NEVER play in it! A small price to pay for living only 5 miles from the ocean!:goodvibes

LOVE the new design your own ears and t-shirt too!:thumbsup2

Did you file your taxes yet? Bryan just found out that you can deduct the interest on your DVC loan!:thumbsup2

Enjoy all your snow!

We got 3 inches yesterday and then 2 inches of ice and then more snow today. A total of about 2 inches of ice: 9 inches of snow. Hope your power stayed on, ours did so I was thankful!

We will probably always stay in a studio and plan to this year too. We like to have one long summer trip each year and then we are starting a couples only trip too so in order to stretch our 160 points I see studios in our future. What was the biggest selling point for you for a 1 bedroom?

For the 4th we have ressie's at OHana's (at least we will when they open my window:) But we'll probably watch fireworks from DTD at SSR based upon your awesome tip. But I definitely want to meet up so our kids can swim and we can enjoy a drink together, as it gets closer we'll look at our schedules and plan a night if that works fo ryou.
I JUST FILED TODAY!!! Bummer, but I'll do it next year for sure.

So it was crazy with all of the ice and snow we got here over the past two days. Last night we got 2 inches of ice and then this morning it snowed HARD until around 1pm. Here are some pics of our Snow Day #2:
Luke and Tim headed out to the park to sled:

Mickey kept eating the snow and Luke thought that was funny, here he is caught in the act:

Mickey spent most of his day begging for more outside playtime:

Lauren enjoying the pull out couch they were allowed to sleep on last night:

Luke gathered snow for our snow ice cream we made:

We had a wonderful day! I already have a 2 hour delay for tomorrow, roads here are a mess and it's supposed to re freeze tomorrow. Luke just got his call and he is out, he just did a MAJOR happy dance.
Lesley

Soooooooooooo jealous of Luke's snow day!!! We will be at SSR from 6/21-7/1 so we will have a few days to pick from to meet up!!! :thumbsup2

oh, i LOVE snow cream! me and my granny used to make it every year when i was a kid in nashville. i haven't had it in SO LONG! did you guys put chocolate in it? i've never tried that. we'd just add milk, sugar and vanilla flavoring to the snow.

Another lurker here!! I have read your PTR's and TR's for the last couple of years and have thoroughly enjoyed them! You are such a lovely family - your kids are gorgeous!!
So, I look forward to living vicariously through this PTR, your TR, and your next PTR before I get to go to WDW... :sad2: :confused3 Oh well, I guess that's the price to pay for living so far away!!!
Keep up the good work!

Did I read that correctly, 3 snow days in a row?? WOW, lucky Luke!! :cool1: I have also been spoiled with snow days, since school returned back after Christmas we have had a snow day every week...and today makes snow day #4 for January!! :cheer2: As a teacher, I am super happy and really lovin' the free time...I am enjoying reading your PTR and can't wait for the actual TR...your trip will be here before you know it!!! :D

Enjoy your Snow Day Luke! (Does Lauren have a snow day??)

Ha ha! I love the smug look on your cat's face! I didn't realize you had a cat, too. How does Mickey get along with her?

Soooooooooooo jealous of Luke's snow day!!! We will be at SSR from 6/21-7/1 so we will have a few days to pick from to meet up!!! :thumbsup2
We all got one today, can't believe it - 3 in a row! We'll be there on the 21st LATE after driving all day (if you see us then, look away, it will be an ugly sight :rotfl: ;) ) but we'll be there the 28th-7th so we have several days that overlap, we'll plan an evening by the pool for sure!:thumbsup2

The kids had fun making it. No, that was the color of the vanilla, made it look chocolate, I thought it tasted awesome the kids thought it was just o.k. I think they thought it would taste like normal ice cream.
Its a winter wonderland!! Very Pretty!!:cold:
A winter wonderland indeed!

3!!! I know, can you believe it. We all ended up with another one today. Do you have to make your days up? We are at 5 as of today so if we go beyond that we'll have to teach farther into June.
Lesley

Ha ha! I love the smug look on your cat's face! I didn't realize you had a cat, too. How does Mickey get along with her?
Yes, we've had the cat for 8 years, he and Loomis were the best of friends. He and Mickey get along great but the puppy in Mickey when he goes crazy bugs the cat a big but they are becoming good bud's too ; )
Lesley

Well, Luke got his call last night that he was off, Lauren got her call around 9:00 too, I was on a 2 hour delay and got my call at 5:45 a.m. So we are ALL ON SNOW DAY #3!!! We're having a bit of cabin fever so we plan on braving the icy roads to hit a movie this afternoon - we're going to see Paul Blart Mall Cop, I'm hoping it will be o.k. for Lauren. There is nothing else kid related playing that we haven't seen already. A lunch out and a movie sounds REALLY good today!:thumbsup2
I also did some Disneyshopping online this morning. They had a great deal on t-shirts in the outlet and I applied the "outlet20" code for an additional 20% off. I got matching shirts for me and Lauren and matching shirts for Tim and Luke and an additional shirt for Lauren and an additional one for me, all total 28 dollars with shipping, not too shabby:cool1:
I'll take pics of them and post when they come in the mail.
I am soooooooooooo excited because my Iphone that I ordered is supposed to come today. Tim has had his for a few weeks now and I fell in love with it and wanted my own, can't wait to play with it when it arrives:hyper:
Lesley

SNOW DAYS? Disney SHOPPING? I PHONES?!?!!

Geeze, Lesley, sounds like things are pretty darn good for you right now!!:beach: Which is good, because you deserve some good stuff after the crazy winter you've had so far.

I got another snow day today.. not sure why.. the roads seemed fine last night when Ty and I drove into Indy for the Pacer game.. which was a blast! But Ty's school is only on a 2 hour delay, so I need to run him to school in a bit.

BTW.. the picture of Lauren on the pull out couch...:thumbsup2 Now THAT's my idea of a snow day!!

3 days! That is great. I hope you don't have to go further in June though.

My DH got an Iphone a month ago and we both love it. I want one too!! :)

3 snow days! WOW!! That ROCKS!!! In our area
they allow 3 snow days, after that, anything has to
be made up in june!! Might not work for folks with Diz
plans!!!:upsidedow

Loved your snow day pics. My kids would love to have 3 snow days! It is cold here but we don't really get snow. We did get like and inch last week but it quickly melted. In NJ we used to get blizzards all the time. The snow ice cream looks like something fun for the kids to do. Myabe if it ever snows alot here :).
