Cute valentine's set...I love the skirt. Did you make those matching hairbows? I printed some instructions to make hair bows but haven't attempt them yet.

So my DH decided to be all super sweet and mine and went out to buy me a surger. Problem is I have never used one and I have never seen one in use. So I basically have no clue how to use it lol! Any good suggestions on surging for dummies?

I love the camo set...and what a wonderful dh! I don't have one, but everyone that I know who has one loves theirs.!

I love them! At first I thought I loved the pink camo more but now I am leaning towards the orange shiny! They are both great.

My husband bought me a serger that is still sitting in the box. It did come with a cd on it with instructions that I haven't watched yet. I am registered to take two serger classes at a sewing expo that is coming to town next month, so I am kind of waiting until then. I should at least watch the cd though. You should go for it!

I love pj pants now, the easiest things to make ever!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't you get the memo? 8yos know everything!!!!!! At least that's what mine thinks!

I think 8 is the magical age when they know everything. I was having lunch with mine and another parent and boy when he spouted off that he had been to the Kennedy Space Museum. Now, unless he had been kidnapped he has never been there, but he kept insisting he had. I really wanted to throttle him!

Hey, they are playing "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" on a show on TV! Cool, so brings me back to the 80s!

Cool! I remember watching the video on MTV! Remember when MTV played videos?

Your mom is so cute! You can tell she is excited. That is a great picture, and your daughter is cute too.

These are great pictures! I love the one of your son holding Lilo's hand. Those pictures taken from the back always get me.

Yay: I knew you could do it! I do not worry about matching the pattern: I really think it looks great.

For those of you that have gone in Dec before. I know the weather can vary so much in Florida. What did you do on your customs? Did you do 2 versions or just make sure you had long sleeves to go under? I can see having leggings for girl stuff but I guess I just should not make any shortalls? Just stick to long pants? I know when we went in Nov of 06 it was pretty warm most days but a few we froze our tushies off at night.

I've not been in December, but I have been in January a couple of times. My suggestion is to dress in layers. I took long sleeve tshirts, and long pants (or capris), and added a hoodie or jacket as it got cooler. We also ended up buying a throw (should have taken one) for when we were watching shows in the evening. Then we could sorta throw it over all of us, and also have a nice souvenir when we got home.

Just thought I would share a few pictures from our December 2006 trip. Here is my little one with the jeans I painted. I knew it is not a "true" sewing project though I did sew the white fur on the bottom. Hahahaha. :lovestruc

(This particular day it was so cold, my baby's nose was red the whole day. By nightfall we had to purchase extra sweatshirts just to keep warm as we watched the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom)

You painted those? WOW! That's pretty amazing work!

I wanted to let everyone know that I heard from pixiedust_in_ak today (Amy). I know quite a few of us were worried about her since she hadn't posted in awhile. She says that she has been under the weather for awhile, but the baby is doing fine. She's due in about 6 weeks!

Hopefully, she starts feeling better soon!

So glad to hear this! I was getting worried. Hope she feels better real soon.

This thread just barely started and I am already behind!

Hi everyone! My name is Shanna.

I have been lurking in the other for quite some time, trying to catch up. But, that was impossible :) Maybe now I stand a chance :) So, bad news you were moved, good news I feel like I can jump in now.

You all inspired me to get my sewing machine fixed. Making my daughter clothes for DW is my new obsession.

We are planning our first trip to DW in April. I am just beside myself excited.

Hi, Shanna! WELCOME! So, have you got outfits made already? We'd love to see pics! If not, get to sewing, girl! You're going to DISNEY WORLD! Woo Hoo!

Welcome - I'm a newbie too :)

Thanks - There are a few no sew tutu tutorials around (check the first post for a page of links I think I saw one in there).

I do mine differently (I was making them for a long time before I found out there was an easier way  typical, there is always an easier way lol) Anyway I use non roll elastic to fit around waist and then I attach a ribbon to each end. I cut all the tulle into strips then gather over the elastic and sew using a 3stage zigzag in whatever colour pattern I like. I like doing it this way as I don't lose any of the tulle if the knot comes undone.

Also with the ribbon closure makes it adjustable so a wider range of sizes can wear it (this particular one fits a 6mth old up to a 5year old approx) HTH

This sounds like a great plan. I've always hand tied mine, but I like the idea of the adjustable waist thing.

This calls for some pictures!:rotfl:
She's 10 months old in these pictures:

She's getting ready to try to climb the stairs for the 100th time that day in the last picture.
There are so many more where these came from, but you get the idea of how busy she was, and at a young age!!

How cute is she! Yes, it looks like you have your hands full! But how can you help but love that sweet, little mischievous face!

How cute is she?!! She reminds me of my DD when she was a baby. She was always into something. Everyday she would empty her toybox and play with every toy in the box and every naptime and bedtime I would fill the box back up just to have it emptied the next time she was awake.

Sorry this is so blurry. It is a scanned picture, but it is DD and her mess.

This is hilarious! So funny!

That is so cute! I can't believe it is easy to make: it looks so cool.

I used the same customs when we went earlier, I just stuck long sleeved shirts and jeans under them.

HTH!

Those are very boutique! They look like the ones they sell on :wizard: for hundreds of dollars! Your little one is so cute, too.

Thanks for letting us know: I was wondering about her.

That hair is gorgeous! What, look at the clothes? I am easily distracted. I think it would look cute with a ruffle or without. I would worry that it might be too long with a ruffle, so maybe shorten it a but if you do that? It looks so cute and easy. And the tutu is so cool. I have yet to try one.

:welcome: Please check out the photobucket account link in the first post and I bet you will get lots of ideas for your trip. I hope your machine is fixed soon, I bet you are anxious to get started. Once you start, you will see more and more that you "have" to make! At least that's what happened with me.

Jenny, I never worry about matching prints and your shorts look MUCH better and I'm sure they will be much more comfy!!!!

OMG, that is adorable!!! I would like the directions also! You didn't know what you were getting into posting that on here, did ya?!

I took long sleeves, leggings and jeans and even coats. We dressed for the weather in the morning, then added or took off layers as needed. We were very warm during the day, mostly 70s. We got cold at night, but only jacket cold not coat cold.

OMG, how cute! You painted those?! Amazing job!

Do you think it needs a ruffle or a pleated hem?? or just a normal hem?
Monster Inc - Sully Tutu for a friends DD (modelled by my firey beauty :) )

I think the dress would be cute with just a hem or a ruffle, either one. Sorry, that wasn't much help!! We're big MI fans here, so I  the Sully tutu. Actually today, we're going to buy fur at Joanns that looks just like Sully. I have no idea why, but my girls are insisting that we buy it!

I love your dds hair! I always wanted a red headed girl or one with curly hair... I have four and they all have blond straight hair  figures!

OMG It's Sawyer!!!!!! I swear those two look exactly alike, or is it just me?

I think 8 is the magical age when they know everything. I was having lunch with mine and another parent and boy when he spouted off that he had been to the Kennedy Space Museum. Now, unless he had been kidnapped he has never been there, but he kept insisting he had. I really wanted to throttle him!

Don't you just love those moments!

Oh my! My favorite is the one where she is ripping the tissues out of the box. She looks so serious, like it's her job to get into trouble so she is doing it! Yes, she does look like Sawyer!

Imagine my very best little girl whiny voice, "Heather, the post count is not a competition!" That's what Megan says every time Jacob is racing her to get to the car or something. She screams, "It is not a competition!"

So cute! She had that big room, so naturally she had to spread all her toys out all over it!

I have avoided button holes for a while, but I felt bad that I haven't made my ds anything, and I am always dragging him to the fabric store with me when dd is in school...so I decided to try a shirt. The button hole wasn't as hard as I thought it would be....I practice on some scraps first, but the ones on the shirt still isn't perfect but hopefully, I have at least overcome my fear for buttonholes. I have yet to attempt zippers!

Zipper aren't that bad. The are mostly on the inside, so if it is messed up you don't notice it. I might have to practice making buttonholes, because that shirt sure came out cute!

Don't you just love those moments!

It took all I had not to embarass him in front of his friend. I just let it drop but it was hard!

Well, I'm going to admit I'm scared of zippers AND buttonholes... there I said it, I feel so much better!

Can we make it a competition, just for today? I'd love to be #1 just once!!!!!

Here's dd2 in her Nemo custom at wdw on 12/1/07 - I think I found more of that ocean fabric at the nifty little sewing shop on Saturday. It was up high on a shelf, so I couldn't see for sure. But, I will be going back soon to see!

Don't you just love how dd2's pants blend so well with Minnie's skirt. This is the Walmart dots and I think they look much better than the stuff from Joanns.

Wasn't sure if I posted this here or not. I made dd7 a Cinderella cleaning dress to wear to CRT (that's what she wanted!) and dd8 a Jasmine custom.

Here's a little better picture of the cleaning dress.

Here is dd2's Little Einstein outfit, also dd8 in front of her showing off her Dream FP that we got at MGM.
